Although midgut volvulus is clinically characterized by bilous vomiting and abdominal distention, plain abdominal X-ray is usually non-specific and therefore it can be misdiagnosed to other diseases. Upper gastrointestinal contrast study and computed tomography have been used as a routine diagnostic tool but it takes cost and time. Abdominal ultrasonography is a relatively good alternatives in diagnosing midgut volvulus and it relatively saves cost and time. But case presentation of midgut volvulus diagnosed with abdominal ultrasonography are rarely found in literature. We experienced a 6 month old girl who had come to our hospital with bilous vomiting and was diagnosed as midgut volvulus with ultrasonography. Thus we report this case with the presentation of typical ultrasonographic findings of midgut volvulus.

Mouse의 대장에서 분리된 E. coli LI-10 균주를 보조균주로 하여 Cellulomonas sp. KL-6과 혼합배양한 결과, 균체증식은 주균주와 보조균주를 1 : 1(v/v)의 비로 혼합하였을 때 가장 좋았다. 혼합배양은 주균주 단독배양 보다 균체증식을 63% 정도로 증가시켰으며 두 균주의 분포도는 10 : 1 비율로 KL-6 균주가 주로 분포되어 있었다. 0.1%의 $CaCO_3$의 첨가는 무첨가에 비해 각 배양기간별로 pH를 상승시켜 어느정도의 균체증식을 가져왔다. Filter paper 배지에서 혼합배양시, 본 균주들은 cellobiose를 월등하게 많이 생산하였으나 glucose는 검출되지 않았다. 균체증식 최적배지에서 4일간 혼합배양하였을 때, $1.0\;g/{\ell}$의 균체량을 생산하여 기본배지인 CMC 배지에서 생산한 균체량보다 53% 정도가 증가되었다. The best cell growth was obtained at the ratio of 1 : 1(v/v) in mixed culture. When these strains were mixed culture, cell growth was increased to about 63%, compared with those of single culture of strain KL-6. It was found that the majority of the population during growth in mixed culture consisted of strain KL-6. $CaCO_3$ added to the medium as the ratio of 0.1% was enhanced medium pH. Cell growth increased in that circumstances. These strains produced much amounts of cellobiose, but glucose was not detected in filter paper medium. When these organisms were cultured under the optimal medium for 4 days, cell mass was produced $1.0\;g/{\ell}$. The results showed the increase of cell mass up to 53% than those produced in CMC medium.

Malocclusion can be often found after improper reduction of facial bone fractures, especially by the plastic surgeon or other medical doctor. This causes lots of problem in esthetics, mastication, or facial symmetry. We present four cases which are related above problems. These were well treated by orthognathic surgery or orthodontic treatment.

Isolated rectal adenomatous polyp without genetic background is rarely found in children. A 4-year and 5 month-old girl was admitted for intermittent bloody stools lasting 4 months. A $1.5{\times}1.2\;cm$ sized rectal polyp was found by air contrast barium enema. Endoscopic polypectomy was performed without complications. In histopathologic examination, it was found to be a tubulovillous adenoma. Typical radiologic, colonoscopic, and pathological pictures are presented.

본 연구의 목적은 재료 및 기하학적 비선형을 고려한 고등해석을 이용한 브레이싱된 강뼈대구조물의 최적설계 알고리즘을 개발하는데 있다. 구조물의 해석과정에서 비선형효과를 모두 고려함으로써 기둥의 유효길이 연산이 필요없는 최적설계 알고리즘을 제시하였으며, 전체 구조시스템 및 개별부재의 정보를 이용하여 최적화 하는 2 파라미터형 다단계 최적화 기법을 개발하였다. 해석기법은 단면소성힌지(zero-length plastic hinge) 개념을 이용한 개선된 소성힌지해석법을 수행하였으며, AISC-LRFD '94 규준을 이용하여 최적화 문제를 형성하였다. 본 알고리즘을 브레이싱된 강뼈대구조물에 적용하여 본 연구의 타당성, 효율성, 경제성을 비교검토 하였다. The objective of the research is to develop an algorithm for the optimum design of two-dimensional braced steel frames using an advanced analysis, which considers both material and geometric nonlinearties. Since both nonlinearties are considered in analysis process, Optimum design algorithm which does not require to calculate K-factor is presented. A multi-level discrete optimization technique with two parameters that uses the information of structural system and separate member has been developed. The structural analysis is performed by the relined plastic-hinge method which is based on zero-length plastic hinge theory. Optimization problem are formulated by AISC-LRFD code. The feasibility, validity and efficiency of the developed algorithm is demonstrated by the results of the braced steel frame.

대구시와 경산시의 하수에서 음이온계 합성세제인 sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)와 sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate(SDBS)를 유일한 탄소원으로 이용하는 균주 289종을 분리하고 이중 합성세제 분해력이 강한, 그람음성 간균으로 운동성인 8균주를 선정하여 그 선정균들의 특성을 조사하였다. 선정균은 40℃ 이상에서는 생육하지 못하였으며 생육 최적 pH는 균주간에 다소 차이가 있었으며 pH 4.0 이하에서는 선정균 모두 생육치 못하였다. 질소원으로는 SDS분해균의 생육에는 potassium nitrate가, SDBS 분해균의 생육에는 soytone이 좋았다. SDS 분해균인 DS-3, 6, 8, 24 및 SDBS 분해균인 BS-7, 8은 세제농도가 5.0% 이상에서도 생육이 가능하였다. 선정균들은 tetracycline에 감수성이 강한 것으로 나타났지만 penicillin에는 강한 내성을 띠는 것으로 나타났고, ??와 ??금속이온은 모든 선정균들의 생육을 억제하는 것으로 나타났다. On purpose to isolate the organisms, which would utilize detergents(sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS and sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, SDBS) as a sole carbon source, from the waste water of Kyungsan and Taegu city 289 strains were isolated. Among them 8 strains, which are gram negative rods with motility and produce strong enzyme to biodegrade the synthetic detergents, were selected. The characteristics of them were investigated as follows, 8 strains were failed to grow above the temperature of 40℃ and below the pH 4.0 even though they have variable optimum pH. Potassium nitrate was very effective for the growth of SDS-biodegradable strains and soytone was effective for the growth of SDBS-biodegradable strains as a sole nitrogen source. Among 8 strains especially DS-3, DS-6, DS-8 and DS-24(SDS-biodegradation strains) and BS-7 and BS-8(SDBS-biodegradation strains) could grow above 5.0% of detergent concentration. All of 8 strains were very sensitive to tetracycline but resistant to penicillin. Selected 8 strains were inhibited by metal ions of ??(0.156mg/㎖) and ??(0.156mg/㎖).
