Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) homopolymer was hydrolyzed by NaOH to a limited extent. Alkali hydrolysis was carried in a homogeneous solution state and heterogeneous aqueous dispersion state. The PAN homopolymer was dissolved into NaSCN and $ZnCl_2$ solutions, respectively. The carboxylic groups were introduced by hydrolysis of the nitrile groups within the PAN homopolymer main chain. The introduced carboxylic groups lowered the exothermic temperature and the heat of reaction. As the NaOH concentration increased, the exotherm maxima and heat of reaction decreased. Therefore, the fibers from the alkaline-hydrolyzed PAN possess potential for use in simple preparation of carbon fiber precursors.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the international competition power between Korean ports and Chinese ports according to the port efficiency scores of DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) by newly introducing the priority vector of AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) to the DEA method.<br/> Empirical analysis shows the followings:<br/> First, there was not big changes of DEA rankings when we use the input-oriented CCR and BCC models after introducing the AHP priority vectors to the input variables. Yantian Port‘s competition power was declined, but that of Busan Port was up in the BCC model.<br/> Second, there was some changes of DEA rankings when we use the output-oriented CCR and BCC models after introducing the AHP priority vectors to the output variables. Rankings of Dalian, Qingdao, Shanghai Ports were up. But Shekou, Yantian Ports showed the declined ranking position in the CCR model. In the BCC model, rankings of Shanghai and Busan Ports were up. But those of Shekou and Yantian Ports were declined.<br/> The main policy implication based on the findings of this study is that The Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Fisheries in Korea and China should introduce AHP and DEA approaches when they measure the international competition power by using the port efficiency scores of DEA.

In wet-lay technology, PAN fibders have been used to produce wound-dressing materials because the fibers are not adhere to the wound. Nano-fibrillated PAN fibers were prepared by wet-spinning of PAN and PVA blend solution in DMSO and by removing PVA with hot water. The phase separation in coagulation process led to nano-fibrillated PAN fibers. The resultant PAN fibers showed the diameter of 100 ~ 200 ㎚.

Present study conducted to obtain the reasonable concentration of Ginseng alcohol extract for the protective effect to the human red cells. At the same time, effects of Ginseng on the morphological changes in the hypotonic solution were studies. The results are summarized as followes. The reasonable concentration of Ginseng extract for the inhibition of osmotic hemolysis is 50mg% in 35mN sodium phosphate buffer(pH 7.2) at room temperature and 30 mg% at 37℃. In the morphological findings, the spherocytes and macrocytes formation of Ginseng treated red cells in the hypotonic solution suggest that Ginseng extract increases the tension of cell membrane, causing it to changes of membrane suructure.
