Matching inviscid and boundary layer methods are developed for hypersonic flow with thick<br/> boundray layer. The new equations match all the boundary layer properties with a variation in the<br/> inviscid solution near the edge, except for the normal velocity. Computational comparison are<br/> performed for incompressible and compressible flows over a flat plate. Results from the present<br/> method are compared with Navier-Stokes solutions. The present results are in good agreement with<br/> Navier-Stokes solutions. They show that the new technique can provide improved heating rates and skin<br/> friction predictions for preliminary design of vehicles where shear layers and entropy layer swallowing<br/> are important.

The present study investigated the microcirculation of blood in the left common artery (LCCA). In order<br/> to develop a mathematical model for microcirculation in LCCA, the present study adopted preexisted set of<br/> measured morphological data on anatomy, mechanical properties of the coronary vessels, viscosity of blood,<br/> the basic laws of physics, and the appropriate boundary conditions. In this study, the statistical distribution of<br/> blood pressure, blood flow, and blood volume in the LCCA were determined based on the anatomical<br/> branching pattern of the coronary arterial tree and the statistical data of blood vessel dimensions. Our<br/> calculations were in good agreement with the previous studies. The present results showed that the mean<br/> longitudinal pressure drop profile was function of the vessel order numbers. It was found that the normalized<br/> pressure drop was a logarithmic function of the compliance.

The changes of the torque ratio, input capacity factor, and internal flow characteristics of a torque converter with a variance in flatness ratios were numerically investigated. The present numerical analysis was performed for the full three-dimensional turbulent flows. The present results were in good agreement with experimental results. The present study showed that the torque ratio decreased and the input capacity factor increased as the flatness ratio decreased. The increase of the input capacity factor resulted from the increase of volume flow rate since the flow area of a stator increased. The decrease of the torque ratio was due to the reduction of a stator torque caused by the decrease of angular momentum. The solidity of the stator became significantly smaller as the flatness ratio became smaller. The solidity played an important parameter in designing the torque converter with a narrow profile since the torque ratio was reduced as the solidity decreased.

The article discusses the application of a newly slot 을 가진 reactor blade to enhance performance characteristic of<br/> a torque converter over a range of speed ratio. A parametric study has been conducted using numerical analysis. Throughout the study, an emphasis has been placed on a flow control that would result in decrease of flow separation while also increasing the input capacity factor. Using a previous1y developed design software. TorconMaster??, severaI slot 을 가진-reactor blades are newly generated with varying slot angles and mounting locations. The present numerical analysis considered the details of the full three-dimensional. viscous and turbulent flow field within the automotive torque convener adopting a mixing plane model and showed good agreement with experimental results. The slot 을 가진 reactor blade can increase the input capacity factor more than 15% compared to the value of the reference blade. Therefore, the slot 을 가진 reactor blade can be used for enhancing the performance of the torque converter. The numerical results showed that the slot reduced the flow separation and retarded the location of the flow separation to the downstream of the slot.
