      • 激動의 世代

        해방동이의 나이가 이제 33살. 해방 이후 世代라면 서른 셋의 「中어른」까지 턱걸이를 하는 世代다. 해방동이 작가 崔仁浩씨의 표현을 빌면, 대부분 결혼하여 한두명의 아이를 가진 家長이 되었으며 회사에선 막 계장에서 과장으로 승진하려는 위치에 있고, 월급에서 얼마씩 떼어서 저축을 하여 TV와 냉장고를 사려는 소시민적 욕망에 잠겨 있기도 하는 것이 오늘의 해방동이들이다. 이들 準旣成世代와 20세 언저리의 지금 대학생들을 한 世代로 묶어 얘기한다는 것은 무리일지도 모른다. 30년은 커녕 반년마다 세대가 달라진다는 농담이 오고 갈 정도로 급격하게 변하는 사회속에서 해방이후 世代가 갖는 공통의 의미를 抽象해 내기는 퍽 어려울 것 같다.

      • 교실용 영상 표시 장치의 적정 모델에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study were to examine the current status of the instructional media distributed in the K-12 classrooms and to develop application models to optimize conditions for learning when media facilities are employed in the educational setting. A case study was conducted to six randomly selected elementary, middle, and high schools in Seoul and Kyonggi area. A survey was given to a sample of three-hundred and one students and six teachers. The results of this study revealed that the major problems utilizing instructional media in the classrooms were: 1)lighting, 2)seating arrangement, and 3)high density of classroom population. The revised application models to be utilized in each classroom setting according to student size, classroom size, and the characteristics of each instructional media were provided. It was suggested that the design considerations such as acoustics, finished materials, color, and space planning are important factors in determining successful learning environment when applying any instructional media in the classroom.

        Socio-demographic factors and diet-related characteristics of community-dwelling elderly individuals with dysphagia risk in South Korea

        BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study was to determine dysphagia risk among community-dwelling elderly people living at home. We also examined the impact of socio-demographic variables on dysphagia risk as well as the relationship between dysphagia risk and dietary characteristics. SUBJECTS/METHODS: The study sample included 568 community-dwelling individuals, aged 65 years and above, who were living independently in their own home in Seoul, Gyeonggi, or Gwangju in South Korea. We used a dysphagia risk assessment scale to screen for dysphagia risk and the Mini nutritional assessment to evaluate the nutritional status. Associations between dysphagia risk and other variables were assessed using logistic regression analysis. RESULTS: Of the 568 subjects, 350 (61.6%) were classified into the dysphagia risk group (DR) and 218 (38.4%) were classified into the normal group (non-DR). Being female (odds ratio (OR) = 1.82, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.28-2.59), being 75 years and older (OR = 2.40, 95% CI = 1.69-3.42), having a lower education level (OR = 2.29, 95% CI = 1.33-3.97), and having a lower perceived economic status (OR = 2.18, 95% CI = 1.32-3.60) were more frequently observed with dysphagia risk compared to those who did not have such characteristics. Lowered mastication ability (OR = 14.40, 95% CI = 4.43-46.95), being at risk of malnutrition or malnourished (OR = 2.72, 95% CI = 1.75-4.23), lowered appetite (OR = 3.27, 95% CI = 2.16-4.93), and decreased food intake (OR = 2.95, 95% CI = 1.83-4.78) were observed more frequently in the DR group than in the non-DR group when adjusting for potential confounding factors. CONCLUSIONS: It is necessary to develop and apply integrated programs to improve the dietary habits and nutritional status of elderly individuals at risk for dysphagia, especially for women aged 75 years or older with lower educational and economic levels.

      • 미래 주택의 소형 컴퓨터 공간 이용에 대한 디자인 조건

        Home microcomputer purchase and use is steadily increasing. The users of the microcomputer in the home range from the preschool child to the elderly adult. Today, microcomputers are invading the kitchen, the bedroom, the family room, and the dining room; anywhere a work surface can be placed. These environments may be inadequately designed for microcomputer functions resulting in poor interaction among the individual user, the family and the microcomputer environment. The impact of this technology on the family environments can be positive if residential interior designers are prepared to base their design methodology on the development of the family through the stages in the life cycle. The location of the microcomputer in the home and design of the workstation should be considered as they impact on components of the family environment including territoriality, privacy, status, and power. The purpose of this paper is to introduce a residential design criteria and specification of a functional microcomputer environment that responds to the changing needs of the developing family.

        Dehydro - L - Ascorobic Acid 의 대사에 대한 연구 , Dehydro - L - Ascorbic Acid 의 이동에 관하여

        For the studies on the metabolism of L-ascorbic acid (ASA) and dehydro-L-ascorbic acid (DHA), 500㎎ of ASA or DHA were administrated directly into the small intestines of rabbits and the levels of the vitamin in the blood were determined at one hour inter vals and the levels of the vitamin in organs (liver, kidney, brain and small intestine) also were determined five hours after administration of the vitamin. ASA or DHA (10, 30 and 60㎎) were also injected intravenously into the rabbits and the levels of the vitamin in blood were determined at intervals until 90 minutes and the vitamin in organs also were determined 90 minutes after the injection and the following results were obtained. 1) AS A was absorbed faster at the small intestine than DHA. 2) ASA was transfered faster than DHA from the blood to the tissues. 3) The levels of the vitamin in each organs(liver, kidney, brain and small intestine) were determined 90 minutes after injection of ASA or DHA intravenously. The levels of the vitamin in each organs were higher in case of administration of ASA than in case of DHA. But the levels of the vitamin in each organs 5 hours after administration of ASA or DHA into small intestine directly showed no difference when compared with those of the control. This is probably due to the destruction of the ASA or DHA transfered to the tissues down to the normal levels.

        건축‧실내디자인관련 전공학생들의 전공인식과 직업의식 그리고 진로에 대한 현황

        Students' perception toward profession has been addressed from many studies as an important factor to promote satisfaction of college major and consistency in career path. This study examines the level of professionalism of the architecture and interior design students in the Seoul metropolitan area to provide information about current status on this issue. Preliminary knowledge and perception toward major before entering college and career aspiration of the students were also investigated in relation to professionalism. A survey questionnaire were administered to 556 participants. Major findings from the statistical analysis of the data are as follows; 1) Students thought that they had little information about their major before entering college and their image toward major has changed after entering college and as the grade gets higher. 2) Aptitude was the most important factor in choosing major and prospect for job condition, in respect. 3) Portfolio and design ability were considered the most required elements to get a job from the students' perspective. 4) Students' opinion whether their major-related job is equal in gender was negative where in contrary social status as positive. 5) Residential Design and Public Design were the most favored areas of field in practice and most of the students wanted to work in the design firm related to their major. The results of this study suggest that definitions and identities of the major and profession need to be strengthened for its consistency in professional image. Also, appropriate introduction and education early in K-12 system as well as in college play an important role in comprehension of the characteristics of major and profession. Finally, partnership among K-12 education, design professionals both in education and practice, and government is needed in program development and related research.
