In this paper, a voltage controlled injection-locked oscillator(VC-ILO) is proposed for wideband applications. From the control of the free-running frequency by a varactor diode, the wide frequency locking range can be obtained for low-level injected signals. The proposed VC-ILO is implemented on an FR-4 substrate with a thickness of 0.8 mm. The free-running frequencies of the oscillator is 2.39~2.52 GHz at the control voltage of 0~5 V. While the frequency locking range of over 50 MHz is presented for —10 dBm injected signal level at a fixed frequency, the locking range of over 90 MHz can be achieved for —30 dBm by controlling the free-running frequency.
Reconfigurable Circularly Polarized Microstrip Antenna on a Slotted Ground

A compact square patch antenna with reconfigurable circular polarization (CP) at 2.4 GHz is proposed. Circular polarization is generated by an arc-shaped slot on the ground plane. In order to switch the CP orientation, the current flow direction of the patch is reconfigured via the PIN diodes mounted on the slot. As the slot and bias circuit are not placed on the patch side, the proposed antenna radiates a CP wave without alteration in the main beam direction. From the experimental results, the impedance and CP bandwidths of the proposed antenna have been demonstrated for up to 80 MHz and 25 MHz, respectively.

In this paper, new spectrum sensing schemes based on analog/RF front-end processing are introduced for IoT wireless sensor networks. While the conventional approaches for wireless channel cognition have been issued in signal processing area, the RF spectrum cognition concept makes it feasible to achieve cognitive wireless sensor networks (C-WSNs). The spectrum cognition at RF processing is categorized as four kinds of sensing mechanisms. Two recent reseaches are described as promising candidates for the C-WSN. One senses spectrum by the frequency discriminating receiver, the other senses and detects from the frequency selective super-regenerative receiver. The introduced systems with simple and low-power RF architectures play dual roles of channel sensing and demodulation. simultaneously. Therefore, introduced spectrum sensing receivers can be one of the best candidates for IoT wireless sensor devices in C-WSN environments.

본 논문에서는 전압 제어 특성을 이용하여 광대역에서 사용 가능한 주입 동기 발진기를 제안하였다. 주입 동기 발진기의 공진 회로에 바렉터 다이오드를 포함시켜 다이오드의 바이어스 전압을 제어하여 자유 발진 주파수를 가변 가능하도록 하였으며, 이를 통해 주입 동기 신호의 입력 레벨이 낮더라도 광대역에서 동작이 가능하도록 하였다. 제안된 주입 동기 발진기는 0.8 ㎜ 두께를 갖는 FR-4 기판을 사용하여 제작되었으며, 0~5 V의 제어 전압을 주어졌을 때, 자유 발진 주파수는 2.39~2.52 ㎓로 가변이 가능하였다. 주파수 고정시 ?10 ㏈m의 입력 신호 레벨에서 주파수 동기 범위가 50 ㎒ 이상이며, 주파수 가변을 통해 ?30 ㏈m의 낮은 주입 신호레벨에서 90 ㎒의 주파수 동기 범위를 얻을 수 있었다.
