        Hypolipidemic, Hypoglycemic, and Antioxidative Effects of a New Pigmented Rice Cultivar “Superjami” in High Fat-fed Mice

        Effects of newly-developed pigmented rice Superjami,in comparison with those of its parental cultivars (Heugjinjubyeoand Suweon 425) and ordinary brown rice, on the lipid andglucose metabolisms and antioxidative defense status in high fatfedmice were investigated. The animals were randomly dividedand given experimental diets for eight weeks: normal control, highfat, and high fat supplemented with ordinary brown, Heugjinjubyeo,Suweon 425 or Superjami rice powder. Their body weight, plasmalipid profile, blood glucose level, and lipid peroxidation weremeasured. The enzymes and hormones involved in the lipid andglucose metabolisms were also analyzed. High fat feedingsignificantly increased the body weight, total cholesterol, triglyceride,blood glucose, and lipid peroxidation in mice. On the other hand,diet supplementation of the rice samples, particularly Superjami,markedly reduced the body weight gain, improved the lipid andglucose profiles, and suppressed oxidative stress through regulationof hepatic lipogenesis and adipokine production, inhibition ofglucose-regulating enzymes, and enhancement of antioxidant enzymeactivities. Superjami has greater hypolipidemic, hypoglycemic,and antioxidant status-improving effects than its parental cultivars. This study provides the first evidence of the physiological effectof Superjami, which may be useful in the prevention andmanagement of high fat diet-induced hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia,and oxidative stress.

        내용 생성 단계에서의 사고력 함양을 위한 전략 개발 I

        This study presents undergraduates' cognitive strategies available at the idea generating stage throughout their writing tasks. By reconsidering "cognitive processes and models in writing" proposed by Flower and Hayes (1981) the study confirmed process-based writing enables students to enhance their cognitive capacity, revealing that process writing theories reflected in Korean education curriculum are not evident in finding the interaction with thought on a series of writing continuum. As a way to overcome the problems this may cause, this study has developed the strategies which focus on and develop 'topic' with the combination of brainstorming strategies and idea generating principles of explanatory texts by applying them to classroom environment. 본 연구의 목적은 쓰기의 내용 생성 단계에서 학생들의 사고력 향상에 기여하는 전략을 제안하는 것이다. 이를 위해 과정 중심의 쓰기를 통해 사고력 학습이 가능함을 검토해 보았고, 과정 중심 쓰기 이론이 국어과 교육과정에 반영되면서 일련의 쓰기 과정에서 사고와의 관련성을 찾기 어렵게 되었다는 사실을 밝혔다. 이에 필자는 쓰기 이론 수용 과정에서 파생된 문제점을 극복하고 좋은 쓰기 교육 모형을 개발하기 위한 방안을 제안하였다. 그리고 이를 토대로 쓰기 능력과 사고력 함양에 효과적인 <화제(topic)를 초점화하고 발전시키는 전략>을 개발하고, 실제 수업에 적용함으로써 설명적 텍스트를 생산하는데 유용한 논리적 사고력이 신장됨을 확인하였고, 전략을 통한 사고 학습 모형을 개발하는 것이 가능함을 타진해 보았다.

        찹쌀 전분의 미세구조 및 이화학적 특성 비교

        Fourteen varieties of glutinous rices were examined on amylopectin fine structure and physicochemical properties of starch granules. The amylopectin chain length distribution and short chain/long chain ratio were investigated by enzymatic treatments followed by high-performance size-exclusion chromatographic separation. Chain length distribution profiles of the isoamylase-debranched amylopectins showed distinct patterns according to varieties. Beongok showed the highest short chain/long chain ratio, while TP2579A1 showed the lowest one. Sharebyeo-152-1-B showed the highest hydrolysis rate to 15% H₂SO₄, while Sandong 47 showed the lowest one. Fourteen varieties of rice starch granules showed A-type pattern on X-ray diffractograms. Non-gelitinized starch granules from Keochang 1 and Beongok had almost 100% hydrolysed by glucoamylase for 3 hrs at 370℃.

        Effects of Combined Application of Rice Bran and Chemical Fertilizer on the Phytochemical Contents of Rice

        The effect of rice bran (RB) applied alone or in combination with chemical fertilizer at different application rate on the phytochemical and antioxidant properties of rice was investigated. The treatments were 3 levels of RB namely: 200% RB (500 kg 10a-¹), 100% RB (250 kg 10a-¹), 50% RB (125 kg 10a-¹), Recommended fertilizer dose (RF: N-P₂O5-K₂O, 11-5.5-4.8 kg 10a-¹) combined with each RB, Half-recommended fertilizer dose (HRF: N-P₂O5-K₂O, 5.5-2.75-2.4 kg 10a-¹) combined with each RB, RF and HRF applied at 1, 5, 10 days before rice transplanting (DBT). The parameters investigated were antioxidant, phytosterol and fatty acid contents. Results showed that the antioxidant property and phytosterol contents were high at 10 DBT HRF plus RB, 5 DBT RF plus RB, and 1 DBT 100 and 200% RB. However, total polyphenols increased from 10 to 1 DBT. In the case of fatty acids, no general trend was observed between treatments at different application times. Linoleic acid was high at 10 DBT HRF plus RB while linolenic acid was not affected at different application times. Palmitoeic and oleic acids were not also affected at 5 and 10 DBT. Saturated fatty acids were not also affected by any treatment at different application times except for palmitic acid. Most parameters obtained higher values at 100 and 200% RB treatments in 1 DBT.

        국립 변산자연휴양림의 관속식물상에 관한 연구

        This study was conducted to provide basic data for the management, and gathering of eco-education resources while providing conservation and the utilization of plant resources in conjunction with a systematical investigation of the flora of Byeonsan recreational forest from July to November 2018. The numbers of flora were summarized as 271 taxa; 80 families, 197 genera, 243 species, 1 subspecies, 24 varieties and 3 forma, and the species/genus ratio and pteridophytes index were 1.38 and 0.18, respectively. The Korean endemic plants were 4 taxa including Populus tomentiglandulosa, Weigela subsessilis, Paulownia coreana and Aster koraiensis. The rare plants were 8 taxa; Prunus yedoensis, Illicium anisatum, Koelreuteria paniculata, Ilex cornuta, Mosla japonica, Belamcanda chinensis, and Pseudoraphis ukishiba. The naturalized plants were 29 taxa including Rumex crispus, Phytolacca americana, Cerastium glomeratum, and so forth. The naturalized plants that need to be monitored with consideration for the degree of naturalization and introduction time were Cerastium glomeratum, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Aster pilosus, Bidens frondosa, B. pilosa, and Tagetes minuta. For the invasive alien plants, Aster pilosus and Ambrosia artemisiifolia, ecological characteristics and removal methods could be introduced to maximize the effectiveness of eco-education. The floristic regional indicator plants totaled 42 taxa; Prunus yedoensis in class Ⅴ, Wisteria floribunda and Pseudoraphis ukishiba in class Ⅳ, Illicium anisatum, Koelreuteria, paniculata, Callicarpa mollis and so forth in class Ⅲ, and Quercus glauca, Peucedanum japonicum, Caryopteris incana, Carpesium glossophyllum and so forth in class Ⅱ, and Thelypteris glanduligera, Castanopsis sieboldii etc. in class Ⅰ. The evaluation score of the floristic regional indicator plants was 166. The target plants adaptable to climate change which have been identified in the Byeonsan recreational forest were 11 taxa; specifically 3 northern plants and 8 southern plants. These plants should be used as eco-educational resources and also be included in the monitoring field to prepare management plans for potential climate change. 본 연구는 변산자연휴양림의 식물상을 체계적으로 조사하여 자연휴양림 운영에 따른 관리나 생태교육자료 및 식물자원의 보전과 활용을 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 2018년 7월부터 11월까지 수행되었다. 변산자연휴양림의 관속식물상은 80과 197속 243종 1아종 24변종 3품종 등 총 271분류군이며, 종/속 비율과 양치식물계수는 각각 1.38, 0.18로 분석되었다. 특산식물은 은사시나무, 병꽃나무, 오동나무, 벌개미취(식) 등 총 4분류군이 확인되었으며, 희귀식물은 멸종위기종인 왕벚나무(식), 위기종인 붓순나무, 취약종인 모감주나무, 호랑가시나무, 산들깨, 범부채, 물잔디, 이팝나무(식) 등 8분류군이 나타났다. 귀화식물은 소리쟁이, 미국자리공, 유럽점나도나물, 미국쑥부쟁이 등 총 29분류군이며, 귀화도와 이입시기를 고려하여 모니터링이 필요한 귀화식물은 유럽점나도나물, 돼지풀, 미국쑥부쟁이 등 6분류군이다. 생태계교란식물인 미국쑥부쟁이와 돼지풀에 대해서는 생태적 특성과 개체 제거방법을 소개하면 생태교육 효과를 극대화할 수 있을 것이다. 식물구계학적 특정식물은 총 42분류군이 조사되었는데, Ⅴ등급은 왕벚나무 1분류군, Ⅳ등급은 등과 물잔디 2분류군, Ⅲ등급은 붓순나무, 모감주나무, 새비나무 등 13분류군, Ⅱ등급은 종가시나무, 갯기름나물, 층꽃나무, 천일담배풀 등 8분류군, Ⅰ등급 사다리고사리, 구실잣밤나무 등 19분류군이었으며, 특정식물의 등급별 평가표는 166점이었다. 본 조사지에서 확인된 기후변화 적응 대상식물은 11분류군이며, 북방계식물은 야광나무, 다정큼나무, 참쑥 등 3분류군, 남방계식물은 등 구실잣밤나무, 예덕나무, 산검양옻나무, 나도밤나무, 새비나무 등 8분류군이다. 이들 기후변화 적응 대상식물을 생태교육 자료로 활용함과 동시에 모니터링 분야에 포함시켜 기후변화에 따른 관리방안도 마련되어야 할 것이다.

        경남 양산 대운산 생태숲 조성예정지의 관속식물상 연구

        The purpose of this study is to offer the basic information for the rational management plan in construction and running of eco-forest by analyzing the vascular plant of the constructreserved site of eco-forest in Mt. Daeun, Yangsan-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. The vascular plants were 280 taxa; 75 families, 179 genera, 245 species, 3 subspecies, 28 varieties and 4 forma. The Korean endemic plants were 6 taxa including Pseudostellaria coreana, Stewartia pseudocamellia, Primula modesta var. hannasanensis and so forth. The rare plants were Juniperus chinensis var.sargentii, Prunus yedoensis, Primula modesta var. hannasanensis, Chionanthus retusus and Scopolia japonica. The naturalized plants were 14 taxa including Rumex acetosella, Lepidium apetalum, Trifolium repens, Oenothera biennis, Veronica persica and so forth. The invasive alien plants were Rumex acetosella and Ambrosia artemisiifolia. pecific plant species by floristic region were total 24 taxa; Prunus yedoensis and Primula modesta var. hannasanensis in class Ⅴ, Juniperus chinensis var. sargentii and Acer pictum subsp. mono in class IV, 5taxa including Dryopteris bissentiana, Scolopolia japonica and so forth in class III, Pseudostellaria coreana, Potentilla dickinsii and Chionanthus retusus in class II, 12 taxa including Acotinum jaluense, Clematis patens and so forth in class I. 본 연구는 경남 양산시 대운산생태숲 조성예정지에 분포하는 관속식물상을 체계적이고 종합적으로 조사 및 분석하여 향후 생태숲 운영에 따른 합리적 관리방안을 마련하는데 필요한 기초정보를 제공할 목적으로 수행되었다. 전체 식물상은 75과 179속 245종 3아종 28변종 4품종 등 총 280분류군으로 확인되었다. 특산식물은 참개별꽃, 노각나무, 설앵초, 고광나무 등 7분류군이 확인되었다. 희귀식물은 쥐방울덩굴, 왕벚나무, 설앵초, 미치광이풀 등 6분류군, 귀화식물은 애기수영, 다닥냉이, 토끼풀, 달맞이꽃, 큰개불알풀, 돼지풀, 미국가막사리 등 14분류군이며, 생태계교란야생식물은 애기수영과 돼지풀 2분류군이었다. 식물구계학적 특정식물은 V등급에서 왕벚나무, 설앵초 2분류군, IV등급은 눈향나무, 고로쇠나무2분류군, III등급은 산족제비고사리, 미치광이풀 등 5분류군, II등급은 참개별꽃, 돌양지꽃 등 3분류군, I등급은 투구꽃, 큰꽃으아리 등 12분류군으로 총 24분류군이 나타났다.
