        이한숙,Lee, Han Suk 대한물리치료학회 2013 대한물리치료학회지 Vol.25 No.5

Purpose: This study was conducted in order to investigate the awareness of physical therapy and difference between physical therapy and rehabilitation therapy. Methods: A total of 183 subjects who gave consent to participate in the survey at five universities in Gyenggi-do were randomly selected and the survey was conducted from February 2012 to July 2013 by a questionnaire consisting of 13 questions. Frequency analysis for the awareness of the general characteristics of physical therapy, anticipated cost, awareness of difference, and cross tab analysis for correlation with each item were used. Results: Participants recognized the academic ability, and the department for management of physical therapist licensing very well. The kindness and workmanship of physical therapists were average. According to their experience of physical therapy, most participants received a hot pack and electrical therapy at a local clinic and satisfaction with treatment was high. The percentage of students who recognized a difference between physical therapy and rehabilitation therapy was high, however, they misunderstood only electrical therapy for physical therapy and they recognized the exercise method of physical therapy for rehabilitation therapy. No correlation of the awareness of difference was observed between physical therapy and rehabilitation therapy and the awareness of physical therapy, experience, and anticipated cost, except the major of students. Conclusion: We found that people can misunderstand exercise therapy for rehabilitation therapy even though they have good awareness of physical therapy. Therefore, a physical therapist has to find the ways to express their identity while working.

Background: Women patients who have undergone high tibial osteotomy need management to control walking and balance and to enable functional daily life. In that way, land-based physical therapy and aquatic physical therapy were performed. Objectives: To investigated the effect of land-based and aquatic physical therapy on the balance and walking of women who had undergone high tibial osteotomy. Design: Randomized control trial. Methods: In all, this randomized controlled trial enrolled 21 patients with high tibial osteotomy who received land-based physical therapy (LP, n=7), aquatic physical therapy (AP, n=7), and land-based and aquatic physical therapy (LAP, n=7). Single-leg standing balance, 10-m walk test, and Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome (KOOS-12) scores were. The intervention period was 3 days per week for 6 weeks. Results: One-leg standing balance and 10-m walk test increased statistically, and KOOS-12 score also increased statistically. All three groups have improved. As a result, the variable changes were compared in three groups, and although there was no significant difference between the land-based and aquatic physical therapy groups, the land-based and aquatic physical therapy combined programs improved further than the previous two groups. Conclusion: The balance and walking of female patients with high tibial osteotomy were found to have been very effective in land physical therapy and aquatic physical therapy. In addition, the land-based and aquatic physical therapy combination program can improve balance and walking more effectively.

A Design of Application through Physical Therapy Big Data Analytics

Choi, Woo-Hyeok,Huh, Jun-Ho Korea Multimedia Society 2018 The journal of multimedia information system Vol.5 No.3

According to the National Health Insurance Corporation in 2008, there were 17,764,428 physical therapy patients, exceeding 31 percent for the population covered by health insurance. This means that three out of 10 Koreans received physical therapy. And now, 10 years later, due to the aging population and the increase in the sports population, the number of patients with physical therapy is expected to be much more than a decade ago. Among them, many physical therapy patients were orthopedic and neurologic disorder. However, in the medical field applied to physical therapy, it is widely applied across all medical fields, including orthopedics, neurosurgery, pediatrics, gynecology, thoracic surgery and dentistry. It is believed that various cases of patients receiving physical therapy will be secured. as mentioned earlier, there will be a large number of patients with physical therapy treatments, making big data analytics easier. based on this, physical therapy applications are thought to be helpful in the analogy of disease and the development of effective physical therapy and will ultimately promote the development of physical therapy.

2022 PNF and Movement Vol.20 No.3

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the perceptions of tele-physical therapy of health and non-health majors. It can provide basic research data for the provision of medical services in the future by identifying the level of awareness of the need for tele-physical therapy and the factors that affect it. Methods: The subjects were adults aged 20 to 29 in Korea, with 199 participants consisting of 83 health majors and 116 non-health majors. The survey was conducted over a period of 14 days. The survey comprised 19 questions, including 10 questions about general characteristics and 9 questions about tele-physical therapy recognition. The results were statistically analyzed using a statistical package program. Results: There was a significant difference between the two groups regarding the recognition of tele-physical therapy, with an average of 2.64 points in health majors and an average of 1.71 points in non-health majors, showing a low overall score. There was no significant difference in perception of the necessity of tele-physical therapy, with an average of 3.71 points in health majors and an average of 3.49 points in non-health majors, showing a high score, which was defined as a score of 3 or higher. Conclusion: Health and non-health majors showed low awareness of tele-physical therapy. A high level of perceivednecessity for tele-physical therapy was shown. In the perception of tele-physical therapy in health majors, ‘awareness’,‘health improvement’, and ‘convenience’ affect the perception of the necessity of tele-physical therapy. In non-health majors, ‘knowledge and skills’, ‘health improvement’, ‘expected treatment satisfaction’, and ‘resolving restrictions onhospital visits’ affect the perception of the necessity of tele-physical therapy.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate awareness of physical therapists about cardiopulmonary physical therapy and patterns of its use, and to offer materials about how to apply cardiopulmonary physical therapy. Methods: For this study, structured questionnaires were distributed to 158 physical therapists in general hospitals, hospitals, Chinese medicine hospitals and clinics in Cheonnam area who were randomly selected as research subjects. After the questionnaires were handed out to them for 180 days from July to December 2013, they were collected. Results: The results showed that only 14 respondents (25%) knew about the therapeutic intervention of cardiopulmonary physical therapy, while respectively, 57.1% and 17.9% of them responded they didn`t know about it well, and they didn`t know about it, at all. As a result, physical therapists` awareness about cardiopulmonary physical therapy was at an extremely low level, overall. Moreover, 60.7%, 7.1%, 8.9% and 23.3% of the subjects answered that they obtained knowledge about cardiopulmonary physical therapy from school curriculum, from association seminars, from related books and from other sources, respectively. Conclusion: In conclusion, these results demonstrate that the application or use of cardiopulmonary physical therapy as a physical therapy intervention is quite inadequate, although the necessity for cardiopulmonary physical therapy of physical therapists is being highlighted. Therefore, constant interests and efforts of physical therapists and clinicians would be required for effective use of cardiopulmonary physical therapy, clinical verification and active researches on it.
