      • 인터랙션 디자인의 개념적 고찰

        고도의 정보화시대로의 가속화 현상을 띄는, 21세기의 선상에 선, 현 시점에서 우리는 다변화, 급변화하며 빠르게 발전하는 새로운 환경에 계속 적응해 왔다. 더 나은 것, 더 좋은 것, 즉 새로움에 대한 끊임없는 욕구는 빠른 변화에 순응, 적응해야 하는 인간의 다분히 혼란스러움을 동반한 환경에서는 오히려 당연한 것인지 모른다. 이러한 새로움에 대한 동경과 욕구를 충족시키는 일, 이러한 환경을 창조, 제공하는 역할은 이제는 정보디자인의 몫이다. 즉, 인간의 새로움에 대한 욕구분출은 빠른 사회 변화를 동반하면서 지극히 가속화 현상을 띠는 정보디자인의 흐름으로 나타난다. 그리고 정보디자인은 삶의 모든 영역(사회)에 문화라는 이름의 요소를 만들어 내며, 우리는 이 인공전시장을 문화공간이라 부른다. 이렇듯 정보디자인은 오늘날 우리사회를 구성하는 빠질 수 없는 개념이며 존재임을 우리는 이제 인식하고 있다. IT(Information Technology)의 국내 수용 적응도는 빠른 정보의 습득과 여론의 흐름에 힘입어 더욱 가속화되어 가고 있는 것이 현실이며 세계화의 흐름 속에 급속히 다변화, 진보하는 정보를 습득, 적용하기 위한 노력은 정보 디자인 분야에서도 빠뜨릴 수 없다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 정보디자인 분야의 필수 요건으로 인식되고 있는 유저 인터페이스(User Interface)와 HCI(Human Computer Interaction)의 등장과 인식을 통하여 우리 삶 속에서 접하는 디지털 매체(Digital Media)의 효율적 생산과 환경을 조성하는 주요한 영역으로서 자리 잡아가고 있는 인터랙션 디자인(Interaction Design) 영역에 대한 재 고찰을 통하여 정보의 집적과 동시에 정보의 재배치가 가져오는 다분히 혼란스러운 이 시기에 정보디자인의 역할의 중요성을 되짚어보고자 한다. The recent society, which is located in starting point of the twenty first century, is showed us a phenomenon that is accelerated a flood of higher degree information. In this recent situation, we have continuously adapted ourselves to new circumstances that is changed so quickly and variety. From the situation, which accompany with very complicated environment, it is in the nature of things that the continuous desire of new things of human inner life, which is fall into attribution for more better and good things, is acclimated and adapted in quick-change environment. To satisfy our desires and admiration about new things of human being, people have to create and support new environment for themselves by Information design. That is a main role of Information design. In another words, the extravagated desire of new things is cause of social change. Because of the phenomenon that is accelerated social change; it is appeared as an effect of a flow of design. Moreover, Information design is made of a point that is called culture in our society. About this cultural space is called as an artificial exhibition hall in Design area. As a tread of connection with a point that is called culture in our society, Design is very important concept as a point of contribution of recent our society. In the complicated period of this time because of accumulation of information, simultaneously, reassignment of information, design is in need of quick capable of meeting ability and an ability of predication. If it is not doing this, it is very difficult to stay in the flow of internationalism. In addition, it is also difficult to recognize our existence in the world society. Information Technology is accepted and adapted as a main stream of our society. It is so fast in speed. It is true that quick searching and correcting information from several methods and recognition of Information Technology necessary have influence on public opinion. We can find a phenomenon of accepting Information Technology in some colleges of Korea. That is why that they have to meet with the rapid progress of world society and have to correct and adapt world information that is change so quickly. In this essay, I would like to study these three points of view as main targets following the Information Society ; the advent and adaption of User Interface Design, the relation with Human Computer Interaction, and Interaction Design. In conclusion, the purpose of this essay is to help to understand and recognize the Conceptual definition of Interaction Design. Therefore I would like to inform the fact that the specialized description of each field of User Interface Design, HCI(human computer interaction) and Interaction Design is unsatisfied to people who want to get more detail information of them.

        『중요한 표시,광고사항고시』에 대한 소비자인식 및 정책개선방안 연구

        The purpose of this study is to inspect the actual condition of executing of the existing 『Designation system of Critical Information to be Included in Labeling and Advertising』 (hereinafter referred to as 『Designation system of Critical Information』), and to prepare an efficient operation management plan to implement the `Designation system of Critical Informations . The study, furthermore, will grope for the improvement program of 『Designation system of Critical Information』 for consumer information disclosure reinforcement. This study is based on content analysis of secondary data overview analysis of trial instances, the consumer damage relief instances and the consumer survey of the consumer cognition research about the critical information items of 『Designation system of Critical Information』. The summary of this study`s conclusions are as following; First, it is necessary to have a standard for selecting business of equal characteristics in order for the government to detect enterprise violating the 『Designation system of Critical Information』. Second, according to the results of consumer damage relief instances analysis, damages caused by advertisement are more frequent than damages caused by labeling. Third, the results of the consumer cognition about critical information items of the 『Designation system of Critical Information』 revealed that information about Credence Goods-Health Food Business are statistically more significant different to consumers than information about Experience Goods-Institute Business. Fourth, the critical information items of the 『Designation system of Critical Information』 are not substantially helping consumer. Therefore the critical information items of Institute Business and Health Food Business should be amended. Fifth, the broadcast media and the mass media should strengthen publicity activities on the details of 『Designation system of Critical Information』. Not only the consumers, but also the enterprises should be a target of publicity activities. Sixth, The continuously adding of items and business to the 『Designation system of Critical Information』 makes it inefficiency for the governmental authorities to enforce the 『Designation system of Critical Information』. This study suggests an efficient operation management plan of 『Designation system of Critical Information』 including all types of business without dividing them into specific types of business. In order to prepare an efficient operation management plan this study selects six critical fields of information of the 『Designation system of Critical Information』 depending on the types of consumer problems. The six critical fields of information are `field of consumer safety information`, `field of consumer quality information`, `field of consumer price information`, `field of consumer trade information`, `field of consumer compensation information` and `field of consumer usage information`.

        디지털신문에 적용된 정보디자인의 사용현황

        뉴미디어의 발달과 함께 다양한 방법으로 정보는 디자인되어지고 전달되어진다. 인쇄매체에서 정보디자인은 사진과 그래픽이미지 도표나 그래프 등으로 텍스트와 함께 정지이미지로 전달되어지고 영상매체에서는 시각 청각의 방법을 적용한 움직이는 이미지 디자인으로 정보를 전달하고 있다. 또한 단방향 커뮤니케이션에서 쌍방향 커뮤니케이션이 가능하여짐에 따라 정보전달에 다양한 방법과 표현형식의 변화가 있음을 알 수 있다. 본 연구는 국내·국외 디지털신문인 한국의 조선일보 영국의 더타임즈 미국의 뉴욕타임즈에 보여지는 정보디자인의 사용예를 고찰하였다. 3사의 디지털신문에 보여지는 정보디자인의 70%이상이 정지이미지로 그래픽 다이아그램 사진을 정보 전달방법으로 사용하고 있다. 그 다음으로 움직이는 이미지는 10~18%내외의 슬라이드쇼와 내러티브 순차적인 모션그래픽으로 전달하고 있다. 5~10%의 시각. 청각적 요소인 비디오 7% 미만의 상호 작용성 이미지로 정보를 전달하고 있다. 조선일보는 1% 더타임즈는 3% 뉴욕타임즈는 7%의 상호작용성 이미지 정보디자인을 차지하고 있다. 사례고찰 결과 뉴욕타임즈의 멀티미디어 정보디자인은 다양성이 뛰어나며 폭넓은 지식의 적용과 함께 시각디자인 활용으로 흥미 있는 정보디자인을 제공하고 있음을 볼 수 있다. 멀티미디어의 발전에도 불구하고 디지털신문에는 아직까지 인쇄매체에 적용되어지는 정보디자인의 전달방법과 표현이 높은 비율을 차지하고 있으며 상호작용성 정보전달에 한계가 보여진다. 향후 한국 디지털신문의 정보전달디자인에 다양한 정보디자인 가치있는 정보디자인 상호작용성 이미지 정보전달의 폭넓은 발전을 기대해본다. Information is communicated through the various methods of design due to development of new media. The information design in print-media is being passed photos graphic designs graphs tables diagrams with text and interactive multi-media has been delivered to the interactive image design which was combine with visual audio methods. Also it is possible to convey information from one-way communication to interactivity communication you can see the variety of ways to deliver information and representation. This study was carried out research on examples of information design which were showed in Choson digital newspaper of Korea The Tmes digital newspaper of England and NewYork Times digital newspaper of the United States. The information shown on the digital newspaper designs with over 70% of the still images graphic images diagrams pictures are used to convey information. The motion image represented around 10-18 percent with slideshow narrative sequential motion graphics has been delivered. 5-10% of visual and auditory component video and interactivity of less than 7% as the image information has been delivered. 1% of Choson 3% of The times and 7% of the New York Times were occupied with interactive information design. In this paper we report the results of the New York Times provide interesting information design diversity of information design and excellent visual design with extensive knowledge of the efficiency and effectiveness. In spite of growing multimedia they still showed high percent of print-media's information designs at the digital newspaper. In addition the interactivity information designs were not presented well. we are looking forward to delivered interactive information designs valuable information designs and in-depth information designs in the field of information design of Korea digital newspaper.

        도심 역사문화 보호구역 안내사인 시설물의 유니버설 디자인에 관한 연구

        The information facilities are an integral part of the landscape composition and function of the Historic and Cultural Protection Area in the Urban Center. The design of the information facilities, guided by the Universal design concept, is an essential part of the sustainable development of historic and cultural preservation areas. The purpose of this study is to provide thought-provoking ideas for the practical and theoretical study of the design of the information facilities in the Historic and Cultural Protection Area in the Urban Center. Firstly, this paper clarifies the imperative of universal design concepts in the design of the information facilities in the Historic and Cultural Protection Area in the Urban Center through relevant theoretical research. Secondly, based on the concept of "design for all" in universal design, this paper advocates a comprehensive system for considering cognitive needs in universal design. Furthermore, through a questionnaire survey conducted by experts, the paper has come up with six principles for the universal design of the information facilities in historic and cultural preservation areas: identification, systemic, inclusive, territorial, safe, and attractive. Finally, this paper analyzes the information facilities in six representative historical and cultural preservation areas in China through field studies, and the results indicate that: Firstly, the universal design of the information facilities should take into account the cognitive impairment of some particular population and the needs for special occasions. Secondly, the information facilities of Historic and Cultural Protection Area in the Urban Center should follow the universal design principles and integrate a variety of communication means into the overall design so that the information facilities can reach their audience as far as possible, as well as to achieve the transmission of regional culture and enhance the charm. Thirdly, the universal design principles of the information facilities in the Historic and Cultural Protection Area in the Urban Center are scientific and feasible as evaluation indicators, which are objective and accurate in the evaluation of the information facilities design. 안내사인 시설물은 도심 역사문화 보호구역의 경관을 구성하고 기능을 표현하는 중요한 구성부분이다. 유니버설 디자인 이념의 지도 아래 안내사인 시설물 디자인은 역사문화 보호구역의 지속가능한 발전을 이루는 중요한 내용으로 되었다. 본 연구는 도심 역사문화 보호구역의 안내사인 시설물의 디자인실천과 이론 연구에 경험적 사고를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 우선, 관련 이론적 연구를 통해 도심 역사문화 보호구역의 안내사인 시설물 디자인에서의 유니버설 디자인 이념의 필요성을 명확히 하였다. 둘째, 유니버설 디자인의 “모든 사람들을 위한 디자인” 이념에 근거하여 유니버설 디자인 중 인지수요에 관한 종합적인 고려체계를 제시하였다. 셋째, 전문가들에 대한 설문조사를 통해 역사문화 보호구역의 안내사인 시설물의 유니버설 디자인의 6개 원칙 즉 식별성, 체계성, 포용성, 지역성, 안전성, 매력성 원칙을 얻었다. 마지막으로 현장조사를 통해 중국에서 가장 대표적인 6개 역사문화 보호구역의 안내사인 시설물에 대해 분석하였다. 이로부터 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 안내사인 시설물의 유니버설 디자인은 각 사용자들의 인지장애와 특수 장소에 대한 수요를 종합적으로 고려하여야 한다. 둘째, 도심 역사문화 보호구역의 안내사인 시설물은 유니버설 디자인의 원칙에 따라 여러 가지 소통수단을 전체 디자인과정에 융합시켜 안내사인 시설물이 최대한 많은 이용자들에게 확장되어 지역문화의 전승과 매력을 제고하여야 한다. 셋째, 도심 역사문화 보호구역의 안내사인 시설물의 유니버설디자인 원칙을 평가지표로 하는 것은 일정한 과학성과 실행가능성을 가지고 있으며 해당 지표는 유니버설 디자인의 평가에 객관성과 정확성을 가진다.

        인터랙션 디자인과 사용자 정보 처리: 인터랙션 디자인 속 정보량 엔트로피와 인간 정보 처리 모형 에 관한 연구

        This study examines how Donald Norman's design principles are used in interaction design and how human processor models can be modified and applied in order to identify the relationship between the amount of information and user experience in interaction design. In the process, the human processor model by Stuart Card and the design principles by Donald Norman are important tools for explaining the relationship between information entropy, user capacity, and user experience. Card's human processor model divides the process of human cognition and response and calculates the time required for each process. In the model, the information processing time is shorter as the predictability is larger and the information entropy is smaller. On the other hand, Norman's design principles consist of visibility, feedback, constraint, mapping, consistency, and affordance. The more well-preserved these principles are, the greater the predictability and the smaller the amount of information entropy. Here we can combine Norman's design principles with Card's human processor model and present the result as a basis for a better interface. Interaction design, which reflects Norman's design principles, decreases the information entropy of the interactive space, increases the predictability of the interactive technique, and sequentially reduces the number of user's cognitive information processing and the time of information processing. On the other hand, in the interaction design that does not reflect Norman's design principles, the amount of information in the interactive space increases, the interactive technique becomes complicated, and the time of user's information processing becomes longer. We can apply it reversely and judge whether a particular interaction design reflects Norman's design principles. 본 연구는 인터랙션 디자인 속 정보량과 사용자 경험 사이의 관계를 규명하기 위해, 인터랙션 디자인 안에서 도널드 노먼(Donald Norman)의 디자인 원칙이 어떤 방식으로 활용되고 인간 정보 처리 모형이 어떻게 변형되어적용될 수 있는지를 살펴보는 것이다. 이 과정에서 스튜어트 캐드(Stuart Card)가 제시하는 인간 정보 처리 모형과 노먼이 제시하는 디자인의 원칙은 정보량 엔트로피와 사용자의 수용력, 그리고 사용자 경험 사이의 관계를설명하기 위한 중요한 도구들이다. 캐드의 인간 정보 처리 모형은 사람이 자극을 인지하고 반응하는 데까지의과정을 분할하여 작업 소요 시간을 계산하는 것으로서, 예측가능성이 크고 정보량 엔트로피가 작을수록 정보 처리 시간은 짧아진다. 한편, 노먼의 디자인 원칙은 가시성(visibility), 피드백(feedback), 제한성(constraint), 대응(mapping), 일관성(consistency), 행동유도성(affordance)으로 구성되는데, 이것들이 잘 지켜질수록 예측가능성은 커지고 정보량 엔트로피는 작아진다. 여기서 우리는 노먼의 디자인 원칙을 캐드의 인간 정보 처리 모형과 결합시켜 더 나은 인터페이스에 대한 근거를 제시할 수 있다. 노먼의 디자인 원칙이 잘 반영된 인터랙션 디자인의 경우 상호작용 공간의 정보량 엔트로피를 낮춤으로써 상호작용 방식 자체의 예측가능성을 높이고 순차적으로 사용자의 인지 정보 처리 횟수와 정보 처리 시간을 줄이게 된다. 반면, 노먼의 디자인 원칙을 반영하지못한 인터랙션 디자인의 경우 상호작용 공간 속 정보량이 커지고 상호작용 방식 자체가 복잡해지면서 사용자의정보 처리 시간을 길어지게 만든다. 우리는 그것을 역으로 생각하여 특정한 인터랙션 디자인이 노먼의디자인 원칙을 잘 반영하고 있는가를 판단할 수도 있다.

        Automated Compliance Checking Framework for Prevention through Design using Natural Language Processing and Building Information Modeling

        Introducing the concept of construction safety in the design/planning phase can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of safety management on construction sites. In this sense, further improvements for safety can be made by designers’ involvement in the elimination or management of design-related hazards in addition to contractors’ own efforts, as known as Prevention through Design (PtD). However, this idea has not been well materialized in construction practices due in part to the lack of a PtD tool that allows designers to automatically check and evaluate designs in terms of worker safety. The paper addresses this issue by designing and testing an automated compliance checking framework that extracts information relevant to design-related hazards from regulatory documents and maps it to each of related design components using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Building Information Modeling (BIM). The proposed framework has two key functions: 1) automatically extracting machine-readable regulation information relevant to design-related hazards using NLP techniques; and 2) automatically mapping such information to corresponding design components in a building information model, enabling the visualization of hazards. How all these components work to automatically display design-related hazards and relevant regulatory information is illustrated with a three-story building, focusing on fall protection. The proposed framework successfully extracted regulation information from textual documents with about 90% of precision and recall rates. It also correctly identified all the hazards in the case study model. The automated framework is expected to facilitate safety design review by improving designers and contractors’ proactive responses against design-related hazards

        디자인경영 관점에서의 디자인 함축적 정보의 의미에 대한 연구 -영국 Wedgwood사와 독일 Rosenthal사의 비교를 중심으로-

        디자인은 하나의 조형으로써 내제된 함축적 정보를 갖고 인간은 그를 통하여 디자인을 이해하고 사용하게 된다. 사물이 가 지고 있는 구조로 평가되는 인식적 차원에서의 기능, 즉 디자인 제품을 마주하는 순간 느끼는 감정이나 인상이 소비의 중 요한 단서가 되고 있으며 이것은 곧 정보(Information)로 받아들여진다. 이러한 디자인에 내제된 함축적 정보는 기업의 디 자인경영 전략이나 전술에 따라 달라지며 이를 통하여 기업의 정체성이 구축될 수 있다. 또한 반대로 기업정체성에 따라 그에 맞는 함축적 정보를 디자인에 담아낼 수도 있다. 본 연구는 대표적인 세계적 도자기 회사인 웨지우드(Wedgwood)사 와 로젠탈(Rosenthal)사의 디자인경영 전략과 디자인 제품이 가지고 있는 함축적 정보에 대한 조사, 분석, 비교를 통하여 그들의 도예 제품의 특성을 파악함으로써 디자인경영 전략과 디자인 함축적 정보와의 관계에 관하여 논의하였다. 디자인에 내제된 함축적 정보를 규명하기 위해 학부생과 대학원생 52인이 설문조사에 참여하였으며 결과적으로 신고전주의를 기업 철학 및 정체성으로 디자인경영 전략을 펼치고 있는 웨지우드(Wedgwood)사의 경우의 디자인에 내제된 함축적 정보는 체 험적, 감성적이고 은유적이며 모호함과 복잡함을 띄고 있었고 디자인의 범위는 다양하였으며 반면에 기능주의, 제품 프로 세스를 중심으로 제품 정체성을 통한 디자인경영 전략을 펼치고 있는 로젠탈(Rosenthal)사의 경우 그 반대의 성향을 나타 내는 것으로 조사되었다. 이는 디자인경영 전략에 따라 디자인 함축적 정보는 달라질 수 있음을 의미하는 것으로 본 연구 의 결과는 기업들이나 디자이너들이 디자인경영 전략을 구축하는데 참조할 수 있을 것이라 예상된다. Product design is as a formative arts and it has implicative information that make people understand design and use the product. The Function as cognitive level which evaluates object’s structures, in other words, the emotion or impression that feels when people face design products is becoming a significant condition for consumption and it is accepted as information of the object. The implicative information which inheres in design can be changed by design management strategies or tactics and the corporate identity can be built through the implicative information. On the contrary to this, companies can include their corporate identity in design product. Therefore, this study discussed the relation between design management strategy and implicative design information through examining the products’ features of the Wedgwood and Rosenthal those are representative pottery companies of the world via investigation, analysis, and comparison about design management strategies and implicative information on both companies design products. For investigation the implicative design information in design, the fifty-seven undergraduate and postgraduate students participated in the survey. As the results, this study revealed that the Wedgwood’s products which operate design management strategy by corporate philosophy and identity of neoclassicism has implicative design information that express experiential, emotional, metaphorical, ambiguous, and complicated meaning. On the other hand, the Rosenthal’s products which operate design management strategy by product identity that is appeared from functionalism’s design process has implicative design information that express opposite tendency compare with the Wedgwood’s implicative design information. The result of this study means that the implicative design information can be varies with the design management strategy what focus on and this study expects that companies and designers can refer this result for building design management strategy in their field.

      • 디자이너 정보제공시스템 구축을 위한 정보 및 이용자 행태 분석

        The proposal about a study on an analysis on real information types and actual user's behaviors is for building up an information providing system for designers based on a collective intelligence. It has applied qualitative and quantitative design research methodologies including a survey, a F.G.I. and an in-depth interview in order to re-establish a design process based on information pattern. The analysis found several types and patterns of information what makes designers to get inspiration for innovative design and to figure out a whole industry relating to design precisely. It is what designers need so called an 'opened information.' Behaviors of designers including demands, channels to get, applications, and sharing information indicate most of information has researched with an online infra and their own human resources. The produced result shows that types and patterns of information and designer's behavior have peculiarities fitting on web 2.0. It is proposed the direction of data model for building up an information providing system for designers based on a collective intelligence

        Due to concern on global warming and environment destruction, the interest in green growth has been increasing. Additionally, there's an increasingly loud call for self-examination about the fact that design contributes to mass-production of waste. With this stream of times, 'designers and corporate social responsibility', the word previously introduced by Papanek, Victor, is again attracting attention. Also, companies and designers have become interested in development of green-products. Government and companies are now focusing on technology that is center of development of green-products. New technologies development is leading to reduction of CO2 emission, increase in energy efficiency and reduction of waste produced by new materials. But it is not actively proceeding to study and discuss on developing ceo-friendly products with the green-technologies in design field. Design field also recognizes the need of accepting new technology information and connecting with design. But, designers are still regarding technology information as quite difficult in the process of developing design. Also, the usability of technology information is very low. To understand the trend of changing green-products development, it is needed to research and analyze technology information regarding green growth and to apply in the process of design development. In this respect, this study focuses on building online-information service, which transforms green-technology information into new one more suitable for designers, classifies and provides. The goal of this study is to build technology information providing service in which designers can use technology information, previously regarded as quite difficult, easily and conveniently in the process of design development.

        Automated Compliance Checking Framework for Prevention through Design using Natural Language Processing and Building Information Modeling

        Introducing the concept of construction safety in the design/planning phase can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of safety management on construction sites. In this sense, further improvements for safety can be made by designers’ involvement in the elimination or management of design-related hazards in addition to contractors’ own efforts, as known as Prevention through Design (PtD). However, this idea has not been well materialized in construction practices due in part to the lack of a PtD tool that allows designers to automatically check and evaluate designs in terms of worker safety. The paper addresses this issue by designing and testing an automated compliance checking framework that extracts information relevant to design-related hazards from regulatory documents and maps it to each of related design components using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Building Information Modeling (BIM). The proposed framework has two key functions: 1) automatically extracting machine-readable regulation information relevant to design-related hazards using NLP techniques; and 2) automatically mapping such information to corresponding design components in a building information model, enabling the visualization of hazards. How all these components work to automatically display design-related hazards and relevant regulatory information is illustrated with a three-story building, focusing on fall protection. The proposed framework successfully extracted regulation information from textual documents with about 90% of precision and recall rates. It also correctly identified all the hazards in the case study model. The automated framework is expected to facilitate safety design review by improving designers and contractors’ proactive responses against design-related hazards.
