YoungSik, Choi. 2015. Korean Dative and Locative Cases: Postposition or Morphological Case Marker. Studies in Modern Grammar 83, 1-24. I propose that the dative and locative case particles are not postpositions but morphological case markers, quite in contrast to the common view in the literature (Yang 1972, Cho and Sells 1995, and Suh 2013 among many others). I will show the difference between the nominative and the accusative and the dative and the locative in case drop, case stacking, and case spreading is attributed to the fact that the dative case and the locative case are inherent case, as compared with the nominative and the accusative, which are structural case par excellence. The present proposal has a nontrivial implication regarding the other case particles typically argued as postpositions in Korean.

For more effective intraperitoneal chemotherapy, the authers made 5-fluorouracil-polyglycolic acid composite disks(FU-PGA disks) with 5-fluorouracil and polyglycolic acid, a biodegradable polymer. We inserted the FU-PGA disk into the peritoneal cavites of Sprague-Dawley male rats, the control and three experimental groups; one FU-PGA disk insert group(300mg/kg), two FU-PGA disk insert group(600mg/kg), and three FU-PGA disk insert group(900mg/kg). The control group received a similar number of PGA disk inserts. A pharmacokinetic study was performed to measure the 5-fluorouracil concentration in the peritoneal fluid, blood, and tissues(liver, kidney and heart) at 24 hours, 72hours and 168 hours after insertion of the FU-PGA disk. Light and electron microscopic studies were done. The results were as follows: 1) The number of white blood cells and platelets decreased after FU-PGA insertion. The degree was proportional to the duration and amounts inserted. The change in the number of red blood cells varied slightly. 2) Light microscopically, slight changes were noted at 168 hours in the 3 disk insert group (900mg/kg). Mild fatty change and hepatocyte degeneration around the central veins of the liver were noted, with vacuolar degeneration in the proximal convoluted tubules of the kidney. 3) Electron microscopically,the liver showed focal increases of lipid droplets in the hepatocytes, and irregular nuclear membrane with focal nucleolar segregation of the fibrillar and granular elements. Also the double membranous structure of the hepatocytes and Kupffer cells was widened with bleb formation. The kidney showed wide separation of the nuclear double membrane in the proximal convoluted tubular cells and mesangial cells, with vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the proximal convoluted tubular cells, at 72 hours and 168 hours in the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. The heart showed focal loss of cristae,vacuolation and myelin figure formation in the mitochondria of the 2 to 3 FU-PGA insert groups. In conclusion, despite the large amont of FU-PGA inserted, the histopathological changes in the liver, kidney and heart were slight, and consonant with the very low amount of 5-fluorouracil concentrations detected in the liver, kidney and heart. The above results suggest that the FU-PGA composite can serve as a new device for releasing drugs in a controlled manner and easily targeted to intraperitoneal organs. This device can improve the efficacy of intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric cancer.

Development of a Reduction Algorithm of GEO Satellite Optical Observation Data for Optical Wide Field Patrol (OWL)

An algorithm to automatically extract coordinate and time information from optical observation data of geostationary orbit satellites (GEO satellites) or geosynchronous orbit satellites (GOS satellites) is developed. The optical wide-field patrol system is capable of automatic observation using a pre-arranged schedule. Therefore, if this type of automatic analysis algorithm is available, daily unmanned monitoring of GEO satellites can be possible. For data acquisition for development, the COMS1 satellite was observed with 1-s exposure time and 1-m interval. The images were grouped and processed in terms of “action”, and each action was composed of six or nine successive images. First, a reference image with the best quality in one action was selected. Next, the rest of the images in the action were geometrically transformed to fit in the horizontal coordinate system (expressed in azimuthal angle and elevation) of the reference image. Then, these images were median-combined to retain only the possible non-moving GEO candidates. By reverting the coordinate transformation of the positions of these GEO satellite candidates, the final coordinates could be calculated.

To evaluate the in-vivo effects of mitomycin-C-polyglycolic acid composite(MMC-PGA) the disk: shaped composite were implanted into the peritoneal cavity of the Sprague-Dawley rats. The pathologic changes were examined at various time points up to 12 weeks. Initially the soft tissue around the inserted disks showed capillary congestion at 3 days. Inflammatory infiltrates with foreign body giant cells appeared from the 2nd week and reached peak response at 6-8 weeks. These reaction diminished prominently at 12 weeks. No specific pathologic change was found in the liver, the kidneys, and the heart. The above results suggest that the MMC-PGA composite can serve as a new device for intraperitoneal chemotherapy of various types of cancers.

산업자재용 폴리에스터 섬유의 강도 향상에 관한 연구

In this work, effects of total draw ratio change on the mechanical properties of polyester fibers were studied. The process parameter was a total draw ratio and the draw ratios that were used ranged from 6.6 to 7.0. Tensile properties are determined from the tensile tester, and crystallite parameters from the density measurement and X-ray diffraction were discussed with the different total draw ratios. The tenacity, young's modulus and crystallinity were increased to 10.6 g/d, 123.2 g/d and 42.1%, respectively, with increase in the total draw ratio. The relations between total draw ratio and mechanical properties of high tenacity polyester fiber were discussed.

지속형 인슐린 투여 중인 제2형 당뇨병환자에서 단기간 전화 상담이 혈당관리에 미치는 효과

Background: Diabetes is a chronic non-curable diseases with chronic complications. To maintain within normal blood sugar level is demanded for the treatment and prevention of type 2 diabetes. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a short-term telephone counsel on glucose control in LantusⓇ using type 2 diabetes. Methods: Sevety-one type 2 diabetes patients who were treated with LantusⓇ at Kosin University Gospel hospital participated. Thirty-three were assigned to control group and 38 were intervention group. Telephone counsel was applied three times per week and both groups were assessed by pre-test, and at 1 month, 2 months, and 3 months. Results: In control groups, the mean fasting blood sugar level of pretest (199.03±37.62 mg/dL) was significantly decreased after 1 month (138.83±25.88 mg/dL), 2 months (129.21±27.07 mg/dL), and 3 months (112.48±9.165 mg/dL), respectively (p<0.001). HbA1c level of pretest (9.95± 1.28 %) also significantly decreased after 3 month (7.92±0.65 %) (p<0.001). In intervention groups, the mean fasting blood sugar level of pretest (199.82±46.94 mg/dL) was significantly decreased after 1 month (145.24±21.53 mg/dL), 2 months (127.21±17.89 mg/dL), and 3 months (123.06±17.66 mg/dL), respectively (p<0.001). HbA1c level of pretest (10.67± 2.11 %) also significantly decreased after 3 month (7.15±0.49%) (p<0.001). After 3 months of consults, significant differences of the mean fasting blood sugar and HbA1c levels between both groups were founded. Increasement of mean body weight was lower than 0.5kg in both group. Care satisfaction scale was also significantly differed between control and intervention groups. Conclusions: These findings indicated that short-term telephone counsel would improve glucose levels and HbA1c in insulin treated type 2 diabetes.

소조령 터널과 솔치 터널 굴착 작업중 발파 패턴 재고에 관한 연구

A tunnel as a road pattern contributes to the driving safety of motors vehicles, protection vehicles from natural disaster and preservation of natural environment. The most applicable tunneling method is rock blasting utilizing explosives which provide huge energy in a moment, and the economic feasibility of project is determined by the blasting technology. Thus, in-situ geology and rock properties should precisely be analyzed to establish the optimal blasting pattern. In this regard, applied blasting patterns of Shojoryung and Solchi tunnels that are under construction have been compared in detail.

國立公園 內藏山地域 날개응애類의 分類學的 硏究

國立公園 內藏山地域의 土壤中에 棲息하는 날개응애類를 調査하기 위해 1986년 3월부터 7월사이에 6個地點에서 土壤試料를 採取하여 Tullgren裝置에서 土壤動物을 抽出하였고 그 중에서 날개응애類만을 slide 標本으로 製作하여 檢境 分類하였다. 그 結果 44屬 49種이 檢出되었으며 그 중에 7種은 韓國末記錄種이다. 그들은 헛털조개응애(Metaphthiracarus bacillatus ??, 1980), 굵은털뿌리왕응애(Heminothrus targionii(??, 1885)) 일본고등응애 (Platyliodes japonicus ??, 1979), 사도만두응애 (Sadocepheus undulatus ??, 1965), 넓은지게달걀응애 (Liacarus gammatus ??, 1967), 옆구리헛털오징어응애 (Trichotocepheus erabuensis ??, 1965), 어깨뚜껑응애 (Truncopes moderatus ??, 1974)등이다. This paper has been performed to investigate the oribatid mite fauna inhabiting around National park Mt. Naejang from March to July, 1986. Soil materials were collected from six habitats, and then soil animals were extracted from them through Tullgren apparatus. Among them, only the oribatid mite fauna were made into slide sample, examined and classified from this performance, 44 genera and 49 species were reveald. Among them 7 species have not found in Korea records : they are Metaphthiracarus bacillatus, Aoki, 1980, Heminothrus targionii (Berlese, 1885), Platyliodes japonicus Aoki, 1979, Sadocepheus undulatus Aoki, 1965, Liacarus gammatus Aoki, 1967, Trichotocepheus erabuensis Aoki, 1965, and Truncopes moderalus Aoki et Ohkubo, 1974.

도금액 조성 및 조업조건이 제품향상에 미치는 영향 연구

In this study the effect of operation conditions in silver plating process, such as solution concentration, agitation speed and plating time, on the plating thickness and quality was investigated. The plating thickness was significantly influenced by the concentration of silver ion in the plating solution and the plating thickness was increased by the silver ion concentration. However, the plating quality was dominantly affected by the operation conditions of agitation speed and plating time rather than the silver ion concentration. As the agitation speed of the plating solution increased, more uniform plating thickness was obtained and resulted in better quality of product. The thickness and quality of plating improved with increase of the plating time until it reached optimal time, but after then, the quality of plating was markedly dropped even though the thickness of plating increased with increase of plating time.
