Role of Functionalized Acceptors in Heteroleptic Bipyridyl Cu(I) Complexes for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

        Xiaoqing Lu,Yang Shao,Ke Li,Zigang Zhao,Shuxian Wei,Wenyue Guo 대한금속·재료학회 2016 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.12 No.5

The intrinsic optoelectronic properties of heteroleptic bipyridyl Cu(I)complexes bearing functionalized acceptor subunits have beeninvestigated by density functional theory and time-dependent DFT. TheCu(I) complexes exhibit distorted trigonal-pyramidal geometries andtypical metal-to-ligand electron transfer characteristics at the longwavelength region. Replacing carboxylic acid with cyanoacrylic acid inacceptor subunits stabilizes the LUMO levels, thus lowering the HOMOLUMOenergy gaps and facilitating favorable donor-to-acceptorintramolecular electron transfer and charge separation. Introduction ofheteroaromatic groups and cyanoacrylic acid significantly improves thelight-harvesting capability of the complexes. Our results highlight theeffect of functionalized acceptors on the optoelectronic properties ofbipyridyl Cu(I) complexes and provide a fresh perspective on screeningof efficient sensitizers for dye-sensitized solar cells.

The effects of light colour on female rabbit reproductive performance and the expression of key genes in follicular development

        Xiaoqing Pan,Xinglong Wang,Le Shao,Jie Yang,Feng Qin,Jian Li,Xia Zhang,Pin Zhai 한국축산학회 2022 한국축산학회지 Vol.64 No.3

The purpose of this study was to analyse the effects of light colour on rabbit reproductive performance and the expression of key follicular development genes. Rabbits (n = 1,068, 5 months old, 3.6–4.4 kg live body weight) were divided randomly into four groups, housed individually in wire mesh cages and exposed to red, green, blue, and white light-emitting diode (LED) light (control). The lighting schedule was 16 L : 8 D-15 d / 150 lx / 6:00 am–22:00 pm (3 d preartificial insemination to 12 d postartificial insemination). Red light and white light affected the conception rate and kindling rate and increased the total litter size at birth (p < 0.05). The effects of red light on litter size at weaning, litter weight at weaning, and individual weight at weaning increased compared with the green and blue groups. The effects of red light on live litter size at birth were increased compared with those in the blue group (p < 0.05). Compared to white light, green and blue light reduced the number of secondary follicles (p < 0.05). Compared to red light, green and blue light reduced the number of tertiary follicles (p < 0.05). Compared with white light, red LED light resulted in greater ovarian follicle stimulating hormone receptor and luteinizing hormone receptor mRNA expression (p < 0.05). Compared with green and blue LED light, red LED light resulted in greater B-cell lymphom-2 mRNA expression (p < 0.05). Compared with green LED light, red LED light inhibited FOXO1 mRNA expression in rabbit ovaries (p < 0.05). Red light can affect the reproductive performance of female rabbits and the expression of key genes for follicular development.

Soil characteristics and new formation model of loess on the Chinese Loess Plateau

        Jingbo Zhao,Xiaoqing Luo,Yandong Ma,Tianjie Shao,Yingli Yue 한국지질과학협의회 2017 Geosciences Journal Vol.21 No.4

In this paper characteristics of loess are discussed from a pedological perspective. A new model of loess formation is presented, developed in different soil formation processes according to its pedogenic characteristics, including soil structure, organic matter content and CaCO3 content. Loess has all the characteristics of typical soils and all five soil-forming factors have important roles in loess formation. In this regard, loess is a type soil and the previous concept of loess actually comprises various kinds of palaeosols developed in cold and arid climatic conditions. The loess-forming process is, in fact, equivalent to a pedogenic process and loess layers with different characteristics represent different pedogenic processes indicative of different environments, such as desert-steppe, steppe or forest-steppe climatic conditions. In contrast to red-brown palaeosol layers, which develop in warm and wet climates, loesses – more accurately called ‘loessial palaeosols’ – are grey-yellow palaeosols and can be regarded as a reliable indicator of cold and arid climate. The model of loess formation suggests that aeolian dust transfers to grey-yellow palaeosols via pedogenesis and the characteristics of loess are mainly a result of climatic conditions and diagenesis processes after its sedimentation. This new model of loess formation also suggests that traditional pedological theory has its limitations when explaining soil formation processes.

Experiments and FEM Simulations of Fracture Behaviors for ADC12 Aluminum Alloy Under Impact Load

        Yumei Hu,Yue Xiao,Xiaoqing Jin,Haoran Zheng,Yinge Zhou,Jinhua Shao 대한금속·재료학회 2016 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.22 No.6

Using the combination of experiment and simulation, the fracture behavior of the brittle metal named ADC12aluminum alloy was studied. Five typical experiments were carried out on this material, with responding datacollected on different stress states and dynamic strain rates. Fractographs revealed that the morphologies offractured specimen under several rates showed different results, indicating that the fracture was predominantly abrittle one in nature. Simulations of the fracture processes of those specimens were conducted by Finite ElementMethod, whilst consistency was observed between simulations and experiments. In simulation, the Johnson-Cook model was chosen to describe the damage development and to predict the failure using parametersdetermined from those experimental data. Subsequently, an ADC12 engine mount bracket crashing simulation wasconducted and the results indicated good agreement with the experiments. The accordance showed that ourresearch can provide an accurate description for the deforming and fracture processes of the studied alloy.

Preparation and Antioxidant Activities of High Fischer’s Ratio Oligopeptides from Goat Whey

        Yusi Qin,Ming Cheng,Xiaoxue Fan,Xiaoqing Shao,Cunfang Wang,Hua Jiang,Xiaoning Zhang 한국축산식품학회 2022 한국축산식품학회지 Vol.42 No.5

This study aimed to obtain high Fischer’s ratio oligopeptides from goat whey (HFO) and investigate antioxidant property of it. Hydrolysis of goat whey was done with the approach of sequential digestion of pepsin and flavourzyme. With the adsorption of aromatic amino acids by activated carbon, HFO with a Fischer’s ratio of 27.070 and a molecular weight of 200–1,000 Da were obtained, and the branched-chain amino acids accounted for 22.87%. Then the antioxidant activity of HFO was evaluated. At the concentrations of 2.0 mg/mL and 0.50 mg/mL, HFO scavenged 77.27% and 99.63% of 1,1- diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and 3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonate free radicals respectively. The scavenging rate of HFO against hydroxyl radicals reached 92.31% at the concentration of 0.25 mg/mL. Animal experiments demonstrated that HFO could moderate the changes of malondialdehyde, superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase caused by CCl4- induced oxidative stress in vivo. This study indicated that HFO from goat whey was capable of oxidation resistance both in vivo and in vitro, which provided a scientific basis for the high-value processing and application of goat milk whey.
