      • Effect of Carboxylic Acid-Doped Carbon Nanotube Catalyst on the Performance of Aqueous Organic Redox Flow Battery Using the Modified Alloxazine and Ferrocyanide Redox Couple

        <P>Alloxazine and ferrocyanide are suggested as the redox couple for an aqueous organic redox flow battery (AORFB). Alloxazine is further modified by carboxylic acid (COOH) groups (alloxazine-COOH) to increase the aqueous solubility and to pursue a desirable shift in the redox potential. For obtaining a better AORFB performance, the overall redox reactivity of AORFB should be improved by the enhancement of the rate-determining reaction of the redox couple. A carboxylic acid-doped carbon nanotube (CA-CNT) catalyst is considered for increasing the reactivity. The utilization of CA-CNT allows for the induction of a better redox reactivity of alloxazine-COOH because of the role of COOH within alloxazine-COOH as a proton donor, the fortified hydrophilic attribute of alloxazine-COOH, and the increased number of active sites. With the assistance of these attributes, the mass transfer of aqueous alloxazine-COOH molecules can be promoted. However, CA-CNT does not have an effect on the increase of the redox reactivity of ferrocyanide because the redox reaction is not affected by the same influence of protons that the redox reactivity of alloxazine-COOH is affected by. Such a behavior is proven by measuring the electron transfer rate constant and diffusivity. With regard to AORFB full cell testing, when CA-CNT is used as a catalyst for the negative electrode, the performance of the AORFB increases. Specifically, the charge-discharge overpotential and infrared drop potential are improved. As a result, the voltage efficiency affected by the potentials increases to 64%. Furthermore, the discharging capacity reaches 26.7 A h·L<SUP>-1</SUP>, and the state of charge attains 83% even after 30 cycles.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

        FGI 분석을 통한 유아교사의 놀이중심교육과정 실행 역량 탐색

        Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the early childhood education teacher s ability to implement play-centered curriculum that is recognized by an early childhood education expert based on an analysis of focus group interviews. Methods: Two professors of early childhood education, two directors of daycare centers, and two early childhood education teachers participated in the focus group interview. The interview was conducted three times. The interviewed data were categorized and compared. Results: The action competence of the play-centered curriculum required for early childhood teachers were categorized into the following categories; comprehending play, recognizing play, and practicing child-centered play. Detailed factor competencies were required for understanding play, reflective thinking, reading play, recording play, playing like a child, and supporting play. Conclusion/Implications: For actualizing play-centered curriculum, early childhood education teachers needed to comprehend, recognize, and practice for child’s play. Furthermore, we discussed the necessity and direction of teacher education to improve the teacher s action competence for play-centered curriculum.

        훈련된 동료 평가자를 활용한 과학 구술평가에 대한 중학생의 인식

        목적 이 연구의 목적은 과학 수업에서 ‘훈련된 동료 평가자’를 활용한 구술평가에 대한 중학생의 인식을 알아보는 것이다. 방법 19명의 훈련된 동료 평가자가 평가대상자 90명을 대상으로 구술평가를 진행하였다. 구술평가를 실시한 후, 훈련된 동료 평가자를 활용한 구술 평가에 대한 평가로서의 ‘유용성’ 및 ‘신뢰성’, ‘훈련된 동료 평가자 역량 강화 과정’에 대한 인식을 리커트 척도 및 서술형 설문을 통해 알아보았다. 결과 평가대상자는 ‘훈련된 동료 평가자를 활용한 구술평가’의 평가로서의 유용성(M=3.88) 및 신뢰성(M=4.09)에 대해 긍정적인 인식을 하는 것으로 나타났으나 성별에 따른 유의미한 차이는 없었다. 평가로서의 유용성에 대해 훈련된 동료평가자(M=4.38)가 평가대상자(M=3.88)보다 전반적으로 더 긍정적으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났으며, 신뢰성에 대해서는 역할에 따른 유의미한 차이는 없었다. 훈련된 동료평가자의 경우, 역량 강화 과정에 대해 긍정적으로 인식(M=4.47)하는 것으로 나타났으며, 질문을 주고받는 과정이 학습에 도움이 되었다고 응답하였다. 결론 훈련된 동료 평가자와 평가대상자 모두 ‘훈련된 동료 평가자를 활용한 구술평가’에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하였으며, 성별에 따른 차이는 없었다. 전반적으로 훈련된 동료 평가자의 인식이 평가대상자보다 긍정적이었으며, 역량 강화 과정이 훈련된 동료 평가자에게 도움이 되는 것으로 나타났다. Objectives The purpose of this study is to find out middle school students' awareness of the assessment of oral presentations by ‘trained peer evaluators’ in science classes. Methods 19 trained peer evaluators conducted the assessment of oral presentations on 90 peer learners. Then, we investigated the awareness of ‘usefulness’, ‘reliability’, and ‘the training peer evaluators’ competency-building training process' for this evaluation. Results The results showed that the evaluated learners were found to have a positive awareness on usefulness (M=3.88) and reliability (M=4.09) of ‘the assessment of science oral presentations by the trained peer evaluators’. But there was no significant difference according to gender. The awareness on usefulness of the trained peer evaluators (M=4.38) was more positive than that of the evaluated learners (M=3.88), and there was no significant difference in reliability according to the role. The trained peer evaluators had positive awareness of ‘the competency-building process’ (M=4.47) and responded that the process of exchanging questions helped learning. Conclusions Both the trained peer evaluators and the evaluated learners were positively aware of ‘the assessment of science oral presentations by the trained peer evaluators’ and there was no difference according to gender. Overall, the awareness of the trained peer evaluators was more positive than that of the evaluated learners, and ‘the competency-building process’ was found to be helpful to trained peer evaluators for their learning.

        인공지능 기반 신생혈관성 나이관련황반변성 진단보조소프트웨어 사용자 인터페이스 개선 연구

        With the recent development of Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), the significance of reducing use errors in medical devices is increasing. In this study, we conducted a formative evaluation of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based software for ophthalmic image detection and diagnosis. The software automatically displays the presence or absence of neovascular age-related macular degeneration using fundus images to assist medical personnel in making diagnostic decisions. We aimed to find ways to reduce the number of use errors in formative evaluations. For this purpose, we conducted usability testing by performing tasks based on use scenarios for usability formative evaluations with intended users in their intended use environments, and then modified the user interface to reduce use errors. The initial formative evaluation revealed errors in utilizing the capture and dragand- drop functions for uploading fundus images, checking analysis results, and perform logout procedures. To reduce use errors, we improved the function by relocating the capture icon, displaying a hand-shaped cursor during dragging, inserting a fundus position guide, and eliminating the drag-and-drop function. We have also enhanced the design to present analytics results in a more intuitive manner and added a separate logout button to reduce the risk of use error. As a result, the number of use errors in the formative evaluation decreased from six to one in the summative evaluation. The development of ophthalmic image detection and diagnosis assistant software that reflects these improvements is expected to enhance user safety, usability, and reduce use errors.

      • 메시지 해석에 이모티콘이 미치는 정서적 효과

        일상에서 휴대전화 사용자들은 익숙하고 친밀하게 문자 메시지와 이모티콘을 함께 사용하고 있지만 수신자가 메시지를 해석함에 있어서 어떠한 정서적 효과가 미치는지는 실험적으로 연구되지 않은 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 다양한 CMC 상황 중에서 휴대전화의 문자 메시지 상황으로 도메인을 한정하여 이모티콘의 정서적 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 메시지와 이모티콘 정서가 사이의 다양한 관계를 살펴보았는데, 실험 1에서는 이모티콘의 영향을 증명하였고, 또한 이모티콘의 존재만으로 메시지의 완고성이 낮아지고 친밀성이 높아지는 결과가 나타났다. 실험 2를 통해 메시지의 정서가가 있는 경우에도 이모티콘이 여전히 발신자의 기분과 정서 측정에 있어 영향이 있음을 발견하였다. 또한 상호작용 분석을 통해 두 매체의 정서가 불일치하는 경우 메시지를 빈정댄다고 지각하는 경향이 확인되었다. Cell phone users frequently send and receive text messages with emoticons in their everyday lives, but emoticon and its emotional effect on message in mobile context has not been focused on. The purpose of this study is to investigate the emotional effect of emoticons on interpretation of text message considering valent texts and emoticons. Study 1 showed the effect of valent emoticons on neutral message, and also revealed that existence of emoticon, regardless of its valence, decreases rigidness and increases familiarity of message. In Study 2 that used positive and negative text messages, we found that emoticon still affects assessing sender’s mood state and emotion. Result of interaction between valences of text and emoticon showed that participants in condition of incongruent pairs felt more sarcasm.
