Factors Influencing on Consumer's Decision on Vegetarian Diets in Vietnam

NGO, Vu Quynh Thi,VO, Thi Anh Dao,NGO, Anh Phung,NGUYEN, Do Mai Anh,LE, Minh Thu,TO, Thi Phuong Loan,NGUYEN, Thi Thuy Phi Korea Distribution Science Association 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.2

Recently, vegetarian diets have experienced a dramatic increase in popularity. The aim of the study is to explore and test the relationship between the factors influencing consumers' dietary decisions in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The questionnaire applied a five-point Likert scale to investigate factors that affect Ho Chi Minh City's citizens when they have a vegetarian diet. 497 respondents (68% female; 61.2% aged 18-22; 82.7% had regular vegetarian diets) living in Ho Chi Minh City took part in both online and offline surveys. The results were processed by SPSS 22.0 software. The reliability was checked by Cronbach Alpha and Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) to identify the underlying relationships between measured variables. The Correlation analysis was implemented to show how strong and degree of two variables are related to each other before the multivariate regression equation was analyzed. The result showed the Five factors that were motivating people in Ho Chi Minh City to decide on plant-based diets, such as Animal Welfare, Health, Religion, Mood, and Reference groups. The mood is the most influential variable that significantly influences people's food choices. Attitudes toward vegetarian diets are changing. Therefore, recognizing the trends in food consumption might help companies take advantage of investment opportunities and build their marketing strategies.

      • Diagnosis and Management of Benign Central Airway Stenosis: Experience from Vietnam

( Ngo Quy Chau ),( Giap Vu Van ),( Du Nguyen Ngoc ),( Duc Hoang Anh ) 대한결핵 및 호흡기학회 2021 대한결핵 및 호흡기학회 추계학술대회 초록집 Vol.129 No.0

Introduction We present a brief review on the diagnosis and management of the central airway obstruction (CAO) in particular nonmalignant CAO. There are multiple causes. The laryngotracheal stenosis is frequently caused by prolong intubation or tracheostomy with the cuff injury, stomal stenosis, tube tip granulations. The patients with CAO may have non-typical clinical signs such as cough, stridor, wheezing. It is easily overlooked or misdiagnosed. Most patients do not complain of dyspnea until the lumen of the central airway is obstructed by approximately 50%. The first paraclinical exam indicated is Chest CT scans with 2 D or 3 D rendering of tracheo-bronchial tree but the bronchoscopy permit the diagnosis, evaluation of the lesion with degree, location and morphological classsification of stenosis. The management of benign airway stenosis require a multidiscipline team discussion with two options: surgical resection and interventional bronchoscopy. There bronchoscopic interventions with their advantages and inconveniences are discussed: bronchoplasty, electrocautery and airway stent. We present some Experiences from Bach Mai hospital, Vietnam Case 1: 43-year-old male patient was admitted for dyspnea. He had motorcycle accident 2 months before, after the accident, the patient was comatose, had IMV for 1 month. Bronchoscopy: severe membranous stenosis of the subglottic segment, 3cm from the vocal cords. He had intervention with electrocautery then balloon dilation with good success. Case 2: Male patient, 57 years old, admitted to Bach Mai hospital due to wheezing, shortness of breath 3 weeks ago. He had hospital-acquired pneumonia treated at ICU in 2 months, twice intubations, 11 days mechanical ventilation. Bronchoscopy showed membranous stenosis of the trachea, 3cm from the vocal cords. He had intervention with electrocautery then balloon dilation with good success. Case 3: 16-year-old man hospitalized for shortness of breath. History: 6 months before this hospitalization, patients had trafic accident and mechanical ventilation for 2 weeks and tracheostomy. Chest CT: tracheal stenosis above tracheostomy. He had surgical resection of tracheal stenosis but the dyspnea and wheezing persist due to tracheal anastomotic stenosis post operation. After MDT discussion, he had Interventional bronchoscopy - stenting with good success. Case 4: 36 years old male patient, had a traffic accident 4 years ago. He was intubated then tracheostomized. Subsequently, the patient developed tracheal stenosis and had a metallic stent through flexible bronchoscopy. After intervention, metallic stent was displaced many times, the patient had to undergo the surgery to fix the stent to the trachea. For one year, he had many episodes of shortness of breath with wheezing. Chest CT scan and bronchoscopy showed the tracheal stenosis below the metallic stent. He was transfert to BACH MAI hospital. He had surgical remove of metallic stent. A silicone stent was put through rigid bronchoscopy sucessfully. Case 5: A male patient 34 years old. He had a traumatic brain injury requiring craniotomy. After the surgery, the patient presented a tracheal stenosis post intubation. He had long term tracheostomy with several unsuccessful remove. MDT discussion: interventional bronchoscopy with tracheal stent. Due to the fixation of cervical spine post accident, we had first perfomed the tracheotomy then used rigid bronchoscopy to put the tracheal stent through the tracheotomy. In conclusions Tracheal stenosis can be difficult to treat and necessitate a multi-disciplinary approach in order to offer the best available solution for each patient. Intervention Bronchoscopy can provide durable successful results in selected patients. We had bronchoplasty, electrocautery, balloon dilation, rigid bronchoscopy, stent. We need to apply and developpe more other interventional bronchoscopy such as laser.

EFFECTS OF IMPACT LOCATION, IMPACT ANGLE AND IMPACT SPEED ON HEAD INJURY RISK OF VIETNAMESE PEDESTRIAN HIT BY A SEDAN

Anh Ly Hung,Nguyen Phu Thuong Luu,Vu Ngo Anh 한국자동차공학회 2023 International journal of automotive technology Vol.24 No.2

This paper employed finite-element simulation together with a human body model (HBM) - THUMS to study the head injury risk of a pedestrian involved in a frontal impact with a sedan car. While previous studies have gained an intensive understanding of the effects of various factors on pedestrian injury, their results were mainly based on standard-sized HBMs. Hence, a scaling procedure was first applied for the THUMS to obtain a model that possesses Vietnamese anthropometry. A total of thirty simulations were conducted to investigate the effect of various parameters, including impact angle, impact location, and impact speed, on the head injury criterion (HIC) of the scaled THUMS. Besides, each simulation covered not only the car-to-pedestrian impact but also the pedestrian-to-ground impact. Thus, the head injury of the pedestrian in both primary impact and secondary impact could be evaluated. Results showed that HIC increased consistently with impact speed for primary impact. An impact at the center of the car was more critical than that at the corner. Whereas, the effect of impact angle varied depending on the impact location. Regarding the secondary impact, HIC value was found to be highly sensitive to the posture of the pedestrian before impacting to the ground. In most cases, HIC was much higher in secondary impact than in primary impact. In other words, secondary impact poses a high risk of fatality to pedestrians in a traffic accident.

      • Management of malignant central airway obstruction in a tertiary hospital in viet nam

( Giap Vu Van ),( Chau Ngo Quy ),( Ha Pham Ngoc ),( Du Nguyen Ngoc ),( Duc Hoang Anh ) 대한결핵 및 호흡기학회 2019 대한결핵 및 호흡기학회 추계학술대회 초록집 Vol.127 No.-

Objective: To evaluate the causes and treatments of patients with malignant central airway obstruction (CAO). Subjects: 37 patients were diagnosed with malignant CAO at Respiratory Center of Bach Mai Hospital. Methods: Retrospective and Prospective, descriptive study. Results: Average age was 53.8 ± 13.1 years. CAO occurred mainly in the 45-59 age group and in men more than women. No significant differences between the number of patients with cancer originated from in (group 1) and out (group 2) of the airway with regard to the number of patients, degree of stenosis and location of stenosis. In group 1, NSCLC accounted for the majority. In group 2, squamous-cell esophageal carcinoma had the highest proportion. The prevalence of patient having treatment was higher than not having treatment statistically. In the treatment group, the number of participants undergoing a combination of airway stent insertion and balloon dilatation was predominant. There were no significant differences in causes or locations or degrees of stenosis respecting treatment modalities. Participants having comfort after treatment accounted for the majority. In no treatment group and treatment group, cumulative proportions surviving were 0% (at 11th month) and 44.3% (at 9th month), respectively. The survival time in the treatment group (15.1 ± 3.4 months) was statistically longer than in no treatment group (4.4 ± 1.9 months) (p = 0.031). Conclusions: Causes of malignant CAO are varied and induce a variety of location and degree of stenosis, thereby leading to diverse treatments. Clinicians need to consider having appropriate treatments for patients to increase their comfort and survival time.

The Relationship between Productivity and Firm’s Performance: Evidence from Listed Firms in Vietnam Stock Exchange

Phong Anh NGUYEN,Anh Hoang NGUYEN,Thanh Phu NGO,Phuong Vu NGUYEN 한국유통과학회 2019 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.6 No.3

The study aims to examine the impact of productivity in addition to the policy of increasing the foreign investors’ ownership rate on the performance of businesses which were listed on Vietnam's stock exchange market from 2010 to 2017. With the database of 3.961 observations, the study employs a statistical method – multiple regression to estimate the relationship between labor productivity, foreign ownership as well as other firm-level characteristics and firm performance. Research findings show that increasing labor productivity and increasing foreign ownership rates help increase firm performance. In addition, except for financial leverage, variables such as liquidity and firm size have positive effects on firm performance measured by Tobin’s Q. These findings have theoretical contributions and practical implications for managers, investors and government in Vietnam. Managers should pay attention to improving labor productivity through employing incentive mechanisms, building a good working environment, investing in technology, etc. in order to enhance the firm performance. Investors could utilize the labor productivity and foreign ownership indicators to select stocks of good companies for investment. For Vietnamese government, relaxing the limit of foreign ownership and accelerating the divesting of State capital in Stateowned enterprises could help increase the investment scale of foreign investors and resulting in positive effects on the firm performance.

HER2 Status and Its Heterogeneity in Gastric Carcinoma of Vietnamese Patient

Dang Anh Thu Phan,Vu Thien Nguyen,Thi Ngoc Ha Hua,Quoc Dat Ngo,Thi Phuong Thao Doan,Sao Trung Nguyen,Anh Tu Thai,Van Thanh Nguyen 대한병리학회 2017 Journal of Pathology and Translational Medicine Vol.51 No.4

Background: Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) is related to the pathogenesis and poor outcome of numerous types of carcinomas, including gastric carcinoma. Gastric cancer patients with HER2 positivity have become potential candidates for targeted therapy with trastuzumab. Methods: We investigated 208 gastric cancer specimens using immunohistochemistry (IHC), fluorescence in situ hybridization and dual in situ hybridization (ISH). We also investigated the concordance between IHC and ISH. The correlation between HER2 status and various clinicopathological findings was also investigated. Results: In total, 15.9% (33/208) and 24.5% (51/208) of gastric cancers showed HER2 gene amplification and protein overexpression, respectively. A high level of concordance between ISH and IHC analyses (91.3%, κ = 0.76) was found. A significant correlation between HER2 status and intestinal-type (p < .05) and differentiated carcinomas (p < .05) was also noted. The HER2 heterogeneity was high in gastric cancers; we found 68.8% phenotypic heterogeneity and 57.6% genotypic heterogeneity. Heterogeneity in HER2 protein expression and gene amplification showed a close association with diffuse histologic type and IHC 2+. Conclusions: HER2 protein overexpression and gene amplification were detected in 24.5% and 15.9% of gastric cancer specimens, respectively. Intestinal-type showed a higher level of HER2 protein overexpression and gene amplification than diffuse type. HER2 status also showed a significant relationship with well- and moderately-differentiated carcinomas. The ratio of phenotypic and genotypic heterogeneity of HER2 was high in gastric carcinomas and was associated with HER2 IHC 2+ and diffuse histologic type.

Thu Dang Anh Phan,Bao Gia Phung,Tu Thanh Duong,Vu Anh Hoang,Dat Quoc Ngo,Nguyen Dinh The Trinh,Tung Thanh Tran 대한병리학회 2021 Journal of Pathology and Translational Medicine Vol.55 No.2

Background: Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is more common in children than adults and involves many organs. In children, the BRAF V600E mutation is associated with recurrent and high-risk LCH. Methods: We collected paraffin blocks of 94 pediatric LCH patients to detect BRAF V600E mutation by sequencing. The relationship between BRAF V600E status and clinicopathological parameters were also critically analyzed. Results: BRAF V600E mutation exon 15 was detected in 45 cases (47.9%). Multiple systems LCH showed a significantly higher BRAF V600E mutation rate than a single system (p = .001). No statistical significance was evident for other clinical characteristics such as age, sex, location, risk organs involvement, and CD1a expression. Conclusions: In Vietnamese LCH children, the proportion of BRAF V600E mutational status was relatively high and related to multiple systems.
