        Electric fans are electric home appliances widely used in summer season, and because its mechanical structure and how to handle is simple, the products of various size and structure has been produced. Every year, about 5% of the fire originated in electric home appliances have been originated in electric fan, and owing to this. It have brought a tremendous loss of buildings and human lives. As the cause of the fire in electric fan, there are layer short of fan motor coil, short of electric wire in service hole of fan motor by superheating of coil of fan motor, deterioration of condenser, short of electric wire of swing part of fan head, short of power source cord. In this study, we observed the wave shape of tracking of one of the prodrome before ignition by deterioration of condenser, and analysed their harmonics of current wave shape. As the result of this study, it is analysed that the current wave shape of normal operation of electric fan is different from the current wave shape of tracking, accordingly the magnitude of harmonics is different, and we expect available to development of protector of electric fan by use of difference of these harmonics.

      • Gymnema산이 췌장도의 Beta-세포에 미치는 영향

        The present study was undertaken to investigate the effect of gymnemic acid(GA) on the ultrastructure as well as cellularity of β-cell in the pancreas of rats(N=12). Also studied was the effect of GA on the serum insulin and blood glucose levels during intravenous glucose tolerance test(IVGTT) in man(N=10). Healty adult male rats(Wistar strain) weighing around 200 gm were divided into the three groups; the control, 500mg-GA, and 800mg-GA groups. GA was administered orally 3 times daily for 14 days. All experimental animals were given food and water ad labitum and were sacrificed at 15th day after the administeration of GA and starved for 24 hours before sacrificing them. The specimens obtained from the pancreatic tissues were fixed in 10% neutral formalin for 18 hours at 4℃. After embedding in paraffin, the specimens were sectioned with microtome to a theckness of 6mm. For observing the cellularity of β-cell in the pancreatic islets, Gomori's stain was performed. For studying the ultradtructural changes in pancreatic β-cell, pancreas specimens of 1m㎥ size were prefixed in 2.0% glutaraldehyde-2.5% parpformaldehyde phosphate buffer solution(pH7.2) and post-fixed in the 1% osmic acid. After specimens were dehydrated and embedded in the Epon 802, sectioned by ultramicrotome(HT-2, Sorvall Porter-Blum, USA) to a thickness of 600Å, and stained with uranyl acetate and lead citrate by double contrast method. And these preparations were observed with electron microscope (Hitachi H-600). In IVGTT with or without oral GA(15mg), the subjects were fasted for 12 hours before glucose loading(20ml of 25% glucose solution). The blood glucose and serum insulin level were determined respectively by Glucoscot GT-4301 and EIA(enzyme immunoassay)-insulin kit "Insulotek Mochida" before and at 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes after glucose loading. The results obtained were as follows: 1. In GA(500 mg/kg & 800 mg/kg) treated rats, the cellularity of β-cell throught the pancreatic islets were markedly increased. 2. The insulin secretoty granuled with or without dense core increased in the 500mg-GA group, and the similar changes were obtained in the 800mg-GA group. 3. Following glucose loading, blood sugar level of normal subject elevated from 80.7±2.7 mg/dl to 163.2±15.9mg/dl in 60min. On the other hand, blood glucose level increased from 78.0±2.9mg/dl to 152.1±10.7mg/dl in 30 min after simultaneous administration of glucose and GA. 4. In the IVGTT the serum insulin concentration rose from the basal level of 7.1±1.4 mU/ml to 74.8 15.5 mU/ml while it elevated from 7.4±1.4mU/ml to maximal level of 113.9±33.1 mU/ml in the IVGATT with oral GA. Consequently, it is suggested that gymnemic acid has the direct simulatory effects on the insulin production and secretion of the pancreatci β-cell, and therfore it may be useful for the therapy or prevention of diabetes mellitus.

      • 2단 선회류 유동층 소각로에서 비산유출에 대한 상단 공탑속도의 영향

        The effect of the secondary superficial air velocity on the elutriation rate of fines were investigated ina cold model of two-stage swirl-flow fluidized bed. The elutriation rates of fluidized particles were measured. And entrainment rates of particles were measured along the freeboard height in the single stage fluidized bed. As a result, the initial entrainment rates of the particles at the bed surface were calulated. The entrainment rate of the particles exponentially decreased as the height of freeboard was increased. The decay constant was almost inversly proportional to the superficial air velocity. The initial entrainment rate of particles depended on the excess air velocity to the power of 1.6. As the secondary air superficial velocity increased the elutriation rates of the particles maintained low values until the secondary air superficial velocity reached to 0.3m/s. When the secoandry air superficial velocity exceeded 0.3m/s, the elutriation rate of the particles increased sharply. By the increment of the secondary air superficial velocity, solid loading was increased and swirl intensity was decreased in the upper stage freeboard. Due to this combined effects, the elutriation rate of the particles increased sharply. However, the trapping rate of the particles in the upper stage freeboard showed high values above 97% in whole rage of the secondary air superficial velocity.

      • 대기오염물질의 통계적 확산모델에 관한 연구

        Under natural condition, the accuracy of measured and predicted value of regular distribution plume model was not good. This study proposed the Multi-Layer Gaussian Dispersion Model which is based on plume rise model and Surface-corrected Gaussian Model, and is able to predict the concentration when meteorologic condition is change. And studied merit and utilization of Multi-Layer Gaussian Dispersion Model. The results was as follows ; 1. Multi-Layer Gaussian Dispersion Model showed the trustful concentration distribution by means of mass flux up to atmospheric boundary or earth surface in change of spatial meteorologic condition. 2. Multi-Layer Gaussian Dispersion Model was simulated in short time relatively, because this model was based on regular distribution plume model. 3. The consideration of earth configuration was relatively simple, because the concentration was simulated by mass flux in boundary condition. 4. Therefore, if this model is more expanded by what is consider the change of meteorology in spatial and according to time, this model is applied immediately in urgency.

        The purpose of this study was the regular exercise on ivestigate the characteristics of health related physical fitness in middle and high age woman And the effects of regular exercise on health related fitness and health related fitness age in aging. The subjects for this study were 320 people whose age are from thirties to sixties and who live in Y city Health related physical fitness were contain and test which muscle strength, power, flexibility, balance, pulmonary endurance, body fat. The results of the comparison between two groups indicated that Middle and high aged woman's health related fitness age (HFA) was regular exercise group higher than control group one.

      • GIS를 이용한 교통량 및 오염물질 배출량의 산정

        The results of this study are summarized as follows' The traffic of link and emission of air pollutant described using GIS. And thus, it enables to analysis transport and air pollution system more powerfully in terms of graphics and data management. Applying graphic ability in GIS to analysis and describe, the results are expressed graphically easily understood. This study was carried on traffic system of Daejeon. First, network of road constructed in Daejeon using roads data. And then, network was inputed data of traffic and emission of air pollutants in links. The results of a test study on realistic network and emission shows various ways of representation of output data. Therefore, it is essy to traffic management and pollutants anlysis.

      • 터널내 자연환기력 변화에 따른 오염물질 거동특성

        Because of a sudden increase of vehicles, the limit of road capacity occurred. We are, therefore, constructing the road tunnel over l㎞ for the maximization of land use. To supply safe driving conditions in the road tunnel, we are controlling the exhaust emissions with a forced ventilation facility. The purpose of this study is to investigate the ventilation efficiency and the characteristics of tunnel on the change of natural ventilation force. To carry out this study, Sola program is transformed to fit for the road tunnel and it was simulated. The tunnel with ventilation system of transverse type is used as a objective tunnel. The results of this study are as follows; 1. The larger a natual ventilation force, the better a ventilation efficiency. 2. It is required the ventilation system dealing with quickly a change of the tunnel surroundings because of accumulation of 5m/sec. 3. The contaminant distributions in the near of ventilation system are highly stagnant in the left-below parts of tunnel, the below parts of air supply system and the below parts of ventilation system.

        In this paper, I designed the voice cipher system employing the 256-bit block cipher algorithm for the safe transmission and receipt on the voice communication. In this paper, the signal encrypted by DSP employing 256-bit block cipher algorithm. This encrypted digital signal is transmitted safely because of encryption signal even if someone wiretap. I can hear the source voice in the Receiver, because the encryption signal decrypted employing the algorithm. In this paper, 256-bit block cipher algorithm can call with better security than 128-hit algorithm of SEED of KICS and I designed the 32 round key instead of 16 round key. For verification of the cipher algorithm, I did Frequency Test and Serial Test among the random examination method , I conformed that the result distributed with normal distribution.

      • 준비운동으로서의 운동부하시간과 운동직후 휴식시간에 따른 전신반응시간

        Warm-up has been considered as an essential procedure for peak or effective athletic performance. Little research, however, have performed for effective method of warm-up. This study was performed to find out the adequate time length of warm-up and rest time after warm-up by measuring whole body reaction time (WBRT) of 12 middle school boys. WBRT after 5, 10, 15, and 20-minute Treadmill run (5mph) an also WBRT after 0, 5, and 10-minute rest taking were measured. The results are following: 1. WBRT after the treadmill run was faster than that of rest. In general, WBRT after the ten-minute treadmill run was the fastest in all cases of different length of test time after treadmill run. 2. The ten-minute rest right after the treadmill run was very effective in measurement of WBRT because of significant difference between WART after ten-minute rest taking and that of rest.
