This studies were performed to develop a Korean traditional folk liquor namely Gangha-ju has been prepared at Bosung district in Korea, and manufacturing conditions and anti-oxidation activity and antimicrobial activity of Gangha-ju were investigated. Ethyl-alcohol 20% and 30% Gangha-ju were brewed with glutinous rice wine, distilled liquor and 6 herbs of ginger, cinnamon, etc. Chemical and physical properties of 30% Gangha-ju were acidity 0.22, pH 4.31, amino acidity 3.26, transmittance 59 and conductivity 911 ㎲/m, and 20% Gangha-ju were 0.43, 4.20, 6.26, 62 and 924㎲/m. Volatile flavor compounds of ethyl alcohol, acetic acid, butanol, n-amyl alcohol, iso-pentyl alcohol, ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, acetaldehyde and furfural were detected, and main aroma compounds of Gangha-ju were isopentyl alcohol and ethyl acetate. Anti-oxidation activity by DPPH method was evaluated 31.32%, and nitrite scavenging effect was 31.7%. Anti-microbial activity against several microorganisms was pronounced strong activity over a wide range of test organisms, and Leuconostoc mesenteroids and Salmonella Ttyphimurium, Staphylococcus epidermidis were found to be more sensitive to Gangha-ju than Eschericha coli and Aspergillus flavus.
지역농업의 활성화 조건 : 전북 완주군의 사례를 통하여 With the Case of Wan-Ju district

This paper reviews evolution of regional agricultural policy is Wan-Ju district which is ruled under local autonomous organization. The focus for the study is mainly based upon measuring degree of the efficiency in allocation of local policy budget and analyzing effectiveness of the 'Comprehensive Rural Development Project' for regional agricultural development. The results of the study are summarized as follows ; Firstly, local autonomous government in implementing rural development projects and allocating its policy budgets has operated more as local units of central government administration than as local self-government in the usual sense of the term. Secondly, as seen in the case of Wan-Ju district, they do not contribute to reduce the resource burden on central government and do not make better use of available resources through local problem-solving and well-adapted rural development programmes. Farmers and farmers' organizations are not enabled to participate in rural development by sharing in socio-political power by taking part in policy decision-making. Thirdly, in order to increase the role of local governments for regional agricultural development, local government need to fullfil with such policy conditions as local oriented problem-solving, rural development planning from below, expansion of self-reliance financing and reform of agriculture-related bureaucracy body. The results of the study have shown the treat importance of vital, initiative-taking and resource-mobilizing local institutions for rural development. Nevertheless, most local autonomous governments have been moving in the opposite direction, with opration of their policies becoming ever more dependent on the central government and more enervated farmers' incentives which could lead to local self-management and self-reliance.
변이주인 Trichoderma reesei YC-3156이 생산하는 Cellulase에 관한 연구

After the treatment 15 strains of Trichoderma sp. and 4 isolates with N-methyl-N´-nitro-nitrosoguanidine, T. reesei YC-3156 among the mutants showed the highest cellulase activity. The Avicelase of T. reesei YC-3156 was purified by 70% ammonium sulfate fractionation, dialysis, DEAE-Sepharose column chromatography and Sephadex G-100 Gel-filtration. With the result of the procedures, its purification degree was 13 folds, yield 9.3% and specific activity 0.9 unit/mg. The homogeneity and the molecular weights of the purified Avicelase were determined by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, it was electrophoretically homogeneous and showed the molecular weights of 46,000-48,000. The purified Avicelase was stable between pH 4.0 and pH 5.0 and it was inactivated rapidly above 60℃.
Long-term relationship between air and water temperatures in Lake Paldang, South Korea

A long-term investigation into the relationship between air and water temperatures was conducted in Lake Paldang, which is the largest water source in South Korea, by studying hysteresis. From 1973 to 2018, the annual mean air temperature increased by 0.05℃/yr (seasonal Sen’s slope). The results of a numerical model (R > 0.86) showed that the ratios of the air and water temperatures increased (0.71‒0.77) in the rising limb and decreased (0.70‒0.76) in the falling limb. However, the intercept values were 0.13–3.52 and 6.62–7.78 in the rising and falling limbs, respectively, and hence there was a 4–5℃ increase in temperature. In particular, in 2015, 2016, and 2018, the intercept values in the falling limb were ≥ 7, exhibiting hysteresis, whereby high water temperatures were slow to decline. Lake Paldang showed stronger water temperature hysteresis than its influent rivers and stream. The rising and falling limbs did not show a large difference in the extent of water temperature change (slope). However, the water temperature did not decrease rapidly, and the decrease continued for longer due to hysteresis, which is a type of inertia where the elevated temperature persists if the summer air temperature is significantly increased.
