        Recent progress in the device architecture of white quantum-dot light-emitting diodes

        White-light-emission quantum dot light-emitting diodes (WQLEDs) have attracted great attention of late because they could have potential applications in both flat-panel displays and solid-state lighting due to their advantages of tunable emission spectra, low driving voltage, high luminous efficiency, and high brightness. Over the past decades, with the rapid development of both quantum dot (QD) materials and device structures, WQLEDs have achieved tremendous progress. This review investigates the influence of device architectures on the performance of WQLEDs. The importance and status of the WQLEDs based on CdSe-QDs are first discussed. Then WQLEDs with a mixed-QD single light emission layer (EML), a multilayered QD EML, and tandem structures are reviewed. WQLEDs based on cadmium-free QDs are also briefly introduced. Finally, the key challenges that WQLEDs are currently facing are identified, and some possible solutions are proposed for further developing stable and efficient WQLEDs.

      • STUDY ON THE APPROACH TO EVALUATE PADDING QUANTITY OF WAVE PIPELINING USING LINEAR PROGRAM

        Wave pipelining is a technique for pipelining digital systems that can increase clock frequency without increasing the number of storage elements. An important issue for wave pipelining is to insert combinational logic delay for the shorter paths. Through the special linear program that we have implemented and run for example circuits, this paper discusses the existed approach to get the quantity of inserting delay, i.e., optimization using linear program, and explains why it is theoretically satisfactory but impractical to large problems. At the end of this paper, an outline of a new approach are presented which is believed to be more fit for the engineering view.

        Multi-objective optimization of the vehicle ride comfort based on Kriging approximate model and NSGA-II

        The RMS of weighted acceleration, wheel dynamic load and suspension dynamic deflection are determined as evaluation indices ofvehicle ride comfort performance. A multi-body dynamic rigid-flexible coupling model of an in-wheel motor vehicle is built based on themulti-body system dynamics. The ride comfort results of ride comfort simulation and road test are well fitted. A kriging model is createdto describe the relationship of vehicle ride comfort evaluation indices and suspension parameters. A multi-objective optimization usingNSGA-II is processed using this model, and the vehicle ride comfort performance is improved by using the optimized suspension parameters.

      • Assembly Retrieval in Top-down Product Design

        Nowadays, there are abundant product models in existence that contain plenty of design knowledge in various disciplines. As an approach to taking full advantages of the existing design knowledge, model reuse plays a more and more important role in complex product design due to the enormous time and cost saving it could bring. To help designers find the right models for reuse quickly and exactly, the content-based assembly retrieval is a promising but still immature way at present. In this paper we present a novel assembly interface representation which captures much more design knowledge in assembly interfaces than plain geometric-matings used most in current CAD models. Then the hierarchical assembly descriptor based on the presented assembly interface representation is described and compared to assembly descriptors in other work. Furthermore, the corresponding similarity assessment method is given to evaluate the distances among assemblies and a complete assembly retrieval method is also described. Finally, an assembly retrieval prototype system is implemented, based on which assembly search samples are analyzed to demonstrate the improved effectiveness brought into the assembly retrieval.

        EXPERIMENT AND EVALUATION STUDY ON RATTLE NOISE IN AUTOMOTIVE SEAT SYSTEM

        With the reduction of vehicle interior noise, the Buzz, Squeak and Rattle (BSR) noises have become an intractable problem that needs to be tackled urgently. Seat system rattle noises have a large contribution to the passengers’ complaints, due to the close distance between the passengers and seats. The seat structure and its components can be sources of rattle noise based on their physical characteristics. The aim of the present paper is to characterize the sound quality property of rattle noise in seat system, and subsequently, use the characteristics of the rattle noises to assess the subjective responses to the noise. In this study, sound metrics are computed for the signals recorded at different points in the seat system. To be more specific, the signals are recorded before and after the durability test in different loading states. Consequently, the characteristics of the rattle noises were compared and analyzed, and the jury test was performed. On this basis, a rattle index and evaluation models were developed. It is expected that the developed rattle evaluation system and sound quality index can be used to reduce the automotive interior rattle noise in terms of subjective levels as well as objective levels.

      • 3D CAD Model Classification with Deep Neural Networks

        Model classification is essential to the management and reuse of 3D CAD models. Manual model classification is laborious and error prone. At the same time, the automatic classification methods are scarce due to the intrinsic complexity of 3D CAD models. In this paper, we propose an automatic 3D CAD model classification approach based on deep neural networks. According to prior knowledge of CAD domain, features are selected and extracted from 3D CAD models first, then preprocessed as high dimensional input vectors for category recognition. Furthermore, by anal ogy with the thinking process of engineers, a deep network classifier for 3D CAD models is constructed with the aid of deep learning techniques. To get an optimal solution, multiple strategies are appropriately chosen and applied in the training phase, which makes our classifier achieve better performance. We demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of our approach through experiments on 3D CAD model datasets.

        Establishment of a special pathogen free Chinese Wuzhishan Minipigs Colony

        To meet the increasing demands of specific pathogen free (SPF) minipigs in biomedical researches, 8 pregnant Chinese Wuzhishan minipigs (WZSP) sows with clear background were chosen to obtain SPF WZSP by hysterectomy. At $111{\pm}days2$ of the pregnancy, piglets were aseptically taken out from the sows and artificially suckled for 40 to 45 days in the positive isolators. Then, the piglets defined as F0 were transferred to barrier environment and fed with standard feeds. The original SPF colony was formed for breeding by selected piglets from F0 group of 6-8 months old. Biological characteristics of SPF WZSP were collected and further compared to those of conventional (CV) WZSP, including growth performance, reproductive performance, hematology and blood biochemistry, and major pathogens detection. As a result, 61 F0 piglets were obtained from 8 candidate sows, and 55 out of them survived. After strictly selection, 35 F0 piglets were used to form the original SPF colony, which produced 14 litters of SPF piglets defined as F1. Piglet survival rates, growth performance, and reproductive performance of SPF WZSP were similar to CV WZSP. Some hematology and blood biochemistry parameters showed significant differences between SPF and CV WZSP. Eighteen kinds of pathogens were identified to be free in F0 and F1 SPF colony by repeated pathogen detections. In conclusion, we established a satisfied SPF WZSP colony maintaining original characteristics, free of controlled diseases, and being proved to be a suitable laboratory animal.
