Shoji Tanaka,Takanori Nagase,Takefumi Suzuki,Kensuke Nomura,Hiroyoshi Takeuchi,Shinichiro Nakajima,Hiroyuki Uchida,Gohei Yagi,Koichiro Watanabe,Masaru Mimura 대한정신약물학회 2013 CLINICAL PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE Vol.11 No.1
Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the factor structure of a novel, 10-item rating scale, the Targeted Inventory on Problems in Schizophrenia (TIP-Sz). Determining the factor structure will be useful in the brief evaluation of medication and non-medication treatment of the disease. Methods: An exploratory factor analysis was performed on TIP-Sz scores obtained from 100 patients who met the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) criteria for schizophrenia. Results: The factor analysis extracted four factors that were deemed clinically pertinent, which we labeled: disorganization, social cooperativeness, functional capacity, and emotional state. The items exhibited cross-loadings on the first three factors (i.e.,some items loaded on more than one factor). In particular, the ‘behavioral dyscontrol and disorganization,’ ‘insight and reality testing,’ and ‘overall prognostic impression’ items had comparable cross-loadings on all of the first three factors. The emotional state factor was distinct from the other factors in that the items loading on it did not cross-load on other factors. Conclusion: The TIP-Sz scale comprises factors that are associated with the psychosocial functioning and emotional state of patients, which are important outcome parameters for successful treatment of the disease.

In recent years, the debasement of the power quality of a distribution system such as deterioration of voltage imbalance and current imbalance or the increase of harmonics has been apprehended with diversification of the load by progress of power electronics technology and with increase of the amount of connection of a distributed generators for home use with the reduction of the effect on the environment. In this paper, the authors propose the restraint method of harmonics and improvement of voltage imbalance in distribution system utilizing the power conditioner systems of photovoltaic systems and verify the validity of the proposal method by the numerical calculation using an analytical model of distribution system.
Effects of high-intensity swimming training on the bones of ovariectomized rats

[Purpose] This study was performed to assess the effects of high-intensity intermittent swimming training(HIT) on bone in ovariectomized rats. [Methods] Six-week-old female Sprague- Dawley rats were randomly assigned to either sham operation or bilateral ovariectomy. After surgery, they were divided into the following four groups: 1) sham-operated sedentary (S), 2) sham-operated exercise training (SE), 3) OVX sedentary (O), 4) OVX exercise training (OE) 5) OVX given 17β-estradiol (OE2) and 6) OVX exercise training and given 17β-estradiol (OEE). SE, OE and OEE rats were used extremely high-intensity swim exercise. The rats repeated fourteen 20-s swimming bouts with a weight equivalent to 14, 15, and 16% of body weight for the first 5, the next 9, and the last 5 days, respectively. Between exercise bouts, a 10-s pause was allowed. HIT was originally designed as an exercise method; a method that very quickly induces an increase in the maximum oxygen intake (Tabata I et al., 1996). OEE and OE2 rats were subcutaneously injected ethanol with 25μg/kg body weight 17β-estradiol 3 times per week. [Results] Bone strength, bone mineral density and trabecular bone parameters were measured after a 8-weeks experimental period. Bone strength was significantly higher in the SE, OE, OE2 and OEE group compared with the O group. BV/TV was significant increase in the SE, OE groups compared with the O group. BMD showed no difference in the OE group compared with the O group. [Conclusion] This study demonstrate some beneficial effects of postmenopausal osteoporosis of high-intensity intermittent swimming training on bone structure and strength.
PROPAGATION PROCESSES OF NEWLY DEVELOPED PLASMA JET IGNITER
Ogawa, Masaya,Sasaki, Hisatoshi,Yosgida, Koji,Shoji, Hideo,Tanaka, Hidenori The Korean Society of Automotive Engineers 2002 International journal of automotive technology Vol.3 No.1
In plasma jet ignition, combustion enhancement effects occur toward the plasma jet issuing direction. Therefore, when the igniter is attached at the center of a cylindrically shaped combustion chamber, plasma jet should issue toward the round combustion chamber wall. The plasma jet igniter that had an annular circular orifice has been developed. The purpose of this study is to elucidate the relationship between the newly developed plasma Jet igniter configuration and combustion enhancement effects. In this newly developed plasma Jet igniter, flame front wrinkle appears on the flame front and flame propagates rapidly. Plasma Jet influences on the flame propagation far long period when the plasma jet igniter has issuing angle 90 degrees and large cavity volume, because the plasma jet only lasts several ms. However, in the early stage of combustion, flame front area of issuing angle 45 degrees is larger than that of 90 degrees, because the initial flame kernel is formed by the plasma jet.

Study Design: Retrospective cohort study.Purpose: The present study aimed to examine the characteristics of physical signs in elderly patients with cervical myelopathy (CM) and to compare the findings in three different age groups.Overview of Literature: As the global population ages, the incidence of CM in elderly patients is increasing. Methods: We evaluated 100 consecutive surgical patients with CM and divided them into the following groups: 80s (34 patients; mean age, 83.9 years), 70s (33 patients; mean age, 73.9 years), and 69 or younger (33 patients; mean age, 60.9 years). The clinical symptoms and physical signs were evaluated and recorded. Results: Although the recovery rate decreased with increasing age, all groups demonstrated a significant improvement in clinical symptoms relative to preoperative values. The Hoffman sign and hyperreflexia of the triceps tendon were, respectively, present in 82% and 88% of patients in the 80s group, 74% and 64% of those in the 70s group, and 69% and 82% of those in the 69 or younger group, with no significant difference among the groups. In contrast, the rates of hyperreflexia of the patellar and Achilles tendons were, respectively, 59% and 32% in the 80s group, 85% and 48% in the 70s group, and 91% and 70% in the 69 or younger group, with significant differences. Conclusions: The positivity rate of the lower extremity hyperreflexia decreased significantly with increasing age in patients with CM. The absence of hyperreflexia, particularly lower extremity, is not uncommon in elderly patients with suspected CM.
