<P>We propose a tone-mapping algorithm that minimizes the function that represents the visual sensation distortion that occurs after tone mapping. For the function, we consider both brightness and local band-limited contrast to reduce darkening of images that have high dynamic range when they are displayed with conventional contrast-based tone mapping using histogram on devices that have low dynamic range. By exploiting human visual characteristics, we simplify the problem and find a closed-form solution that minimizes the function that represents distortion of visual sensation. In both subjective and objective evaluations, the proposed algorithm achieves a processed image that is most similar to the original image and has the best subjective image quality.</P>

The purpose of this study is to test how the media uses of Chinese immigrants affect on the formation of their cultural values. Specifically, it was expected to test how Chinese immigrants’ Korean media usages and Chinese media usages affect on their Chinese cultural values as well as Korean cultural values. It was expected that there was a correlation relationship between media usage and acquirement of cultural values. In addition, since Chinese immigrants’ preference toward Korea and China should be different, it is expected that their levels of media usages are different. This procedure caused Chinese immigrants to have different levels of cultural values acquirement. In order to achieve the content equivalency between Chinese and Korean questionnaires, a translation and back-translation method was used. Then, we used a hierarchial regression method, based on the non-probability sampling method. The four suggested hypotheses were rejected in that the short length of Chinese subjects in Korea caused Chinese immigrants to use the shortage of media uses in Korea.

This paper aims to analyze the range of motions and characteristics of a quadruped robot for stair climbing and crossing over an obstacle. Humans have a higher range than quadruped animals due to longer legs. We can make fewer steps and reach the same distance, can climb stairs by two or three steps and not only one, and cross over high obstacles thanks to our leg range. However, stability is different because quadruped has four contact points, whereas humans have only. Quadrupeds maintain walking stability because their gravity center falls within the triangle of support from the three legs when one is up, but in the same condition, humans encounter a complex challenge to maintain equilibrium. We propose using these inherent characteristics of a quadruped robot for motion analysis of stair climbing by two or three steps and cross over a big obstacle while maintaining high stability in a quadruped robot. We aboard in the discussion significant aspects of leg dimensions and joint ranges with geometrical analysis to find the optimal position of the feet. The motion effectiveness was verified experimentally by implementing the motions from the preliminary tests to a quadruped robot.
이온풍 공랭 방식 적용을 위한 방송용 LED 조명장치의 냉각 특성 해석

In the present work, numerical analyses of broadcasting LED light with ion wind generator have been carried out for enhancement of cooling performance. Ion wind generator is produced and experimented before analysis. With the use of result of experiments, broadcasting LED light model is computed. Ion wind velocity into LED light is varied with 0~3 m/s. Based on the numerical results, the area of duct-type ion wind generator was designed to reduce the volume flow rate of ion wind. The modified inlet geometry shows sufficient cooling capability. And, through modified ion wind generator, the volume flow rate of ion wind has been largely reduced.
