Chfr is a ubiquitin ligase that functions in the mitotic checkpoint by delaying entry into metaphase in response to mitotic stress. It has been suggested that Chfr is a tumour suppressor as Chfr is frequently silenced in human cancers. To better understand how Chfr activity relates to cell-cycle progression and tumorigenesis, we sought to identify Chfr-interacting proteins using affinity purification combined with mass spectrometry. Histone deacetylase 1 (HDAC1), which represses transcription by deacetylating histones, was newly isolated as a Chfr-interacting protein. Chfr binds and downregulates HDAC1 by inducing its polyubiquitylation, both in vitro and in vivo. Ectopic expression of Chfr in cancer cells that normally do not express it results in downregulation of HDAC1, leading to upregulation of the Cdk inhibitor p21<SUP>CIP1/WAF1</SUP> and the metastasis suppressors KAI1 and E-cadherin. Coincident with these changes, cells arrest in the G1 phase of the cell cycle and become less invasive. Collectively, our data suggest that Chfr functions as a tumour suppressor by regulating HDAC1.

본 연구는 점차 심각해지는 재난의 위험으로부터 재난취약자인 노인의 피해를 경감하기 위한 목적으로 진행되었다. 구체적으로 노인이 재난 상황에서 적절한 행동을 통해 위험에 대처할 수 있도록 하는 것에 주목하였으며, 이러한 재난대처행동을 하는 데 있어 재난정보의 접근과 이해가 어떠한 영향을 주는지 실증적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 자료의 수집은 노인의 인구비율이 높은 부산광역시의 재가노인(만 65세 이상) 191명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 분석은 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 사용하여 연구 대상자의 인구사회학적특성과 주요변수 파악을 위해 빈도분석 및 기술통계, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 재난대처행동에 영향을 미치는 변인은 인적 자원 재난정보 접근(β=.205*)과 물적 자원 재난정보이해(β=.340**)로 나타났다. 이를 토대로 본 연구는 노인의 재난대처행동 향상을 위한 실천방안을 제시하였다. With an aim to reduce the damage to the elderly who are vulnerable to disasters, this study analyzed the impact of disaster information access and understanding on the elderly’s response actions in disaster situations. The data were collected by surveying 191 elderly people over 65 years old living in their homes in Busan Metropolitan City. The analysis was conducted by frequency analysis and descriptive statistics using the SPSS 22.0 program to identify the demographic characteristics and major variables of the subjects. A multiple regression analysis was also conducted to verify whether information access and understanding of the elderly affects their disaster response behavior. It is found that the elderly’s disaster response behavior is affected by their access to disaster information on human resources (β=.205) and their understanding of disaster information on material resources (β=.340). The results of this study suggested the implementation plan to improve the disaster coping capacity of the elderly.
노인의 디지털 정보수준이 신기술 이용의사에 미치는 영향: 기술적 자기효능감과 이용성과의 다중매개효과를 중심으로

본 연구는 지능정보사회에서 노인의 적응력 향상 및 새로운 기술에 대한 정보수용을 도와 정보격차를 완화하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었으며 디지털정보격차실태조사의 2019년도 자료를 활용하여 만 55세 이상 고령층의 데이터에서 만 65세 이상의 노인을 대상으로 빈도분석 및 기술통계분석, 구조방정식을 실시하였다. jamovi 1.0.8.0 및 Mplus 8.0 통계프로그램을 사용하였다. 연구결과 디지털 정보수준이 신기술 이용의사에 미치는 영향에서 기술적 자기효능감과 이용성과는 매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났으며, 기술적 자기효능감에서 이용성과를 거쳐 나타나는 다중매개효과에서도 부트스트래핑 95% 신뢰구간에서 유의한 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. The study pursues to better understand older adults’ adaptability and to narrow the digital gap between what. The data were used from the 2019 Digital Divide Survey which had been conducted and performed by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency, respectively. The older adults were targeted through extracting those who were aged 65 years or above from those who were aged more than 55 years. Analyzes were performed using jamovi 1.0.8.0 and Mplus 8.0, to identify demographic characteristics, descriptive values of major variables, and structural equations. For the structural equation model analysis. The results of the final model verified through the measurement model and the revision process were as follows: The mediating effects in the final modified model using the bootstrap methodology revealed that within the association between the level of digital information and intention to utilize new technology, technological self-efficacy, and utilization performance showed both mediating and multiple mediating effects.

This report outlines the development of a rapid, simple, and sensitive detection system for pathogenic bacteria using a capillary electrophoresis-based, single strand conformation polymorphism (CE-SSCP) combined with PCR. We demonstrate that this method, used with primers targeting the V4 region of the16S rRNA gene, is capable of the simultaneous detection of 10 microbes that could be associated with foodborne illness, caused by animal-derived foods: Salmonella enter-ica, Listeria monocytogenes, Escherichia coli O157:H7, Campylobacter jejuni, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Clostridium perfringens, Yersinia enterocolitica, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, and Enterobacter sakazakii. The traditional detection techniques are time-consuming and labor-intensive, due to the necessary task of separate cultivation of each target species. As such, the CE-SSCP-PCR method, that we have developed, has the potential to diagnose pathogens rapidly, unlike the traditional technique, in order to prevent foodborne illness in a much more efficient manner.
The Effect of the Water Extracts of Digestive Medicinal Plants on the Shelf-life of Pork Patties

This study was performed to examine the possibility of water extracts of several digestive medicinal plants (DMPEs), such as Amomum tasoko, Alpinia oxyphylla, Citrus unshiu, and Myristica fragrans, as a natural antioxidant. Total phenol contents of each extract were expressed as gallic acid equibalents (GAE) and those were significantly different among A. tasoko ($39.87{\pm}5.77$ mg GAE/g), A. oxyphylla ($30.28{\pm}3.36$ mg GAE/g), C. unshiu ($28.13{\pm}5.01$ mg GAE/g) and M. fragrans ($6.36{\pm}0.30$ mg GAE/g) (p<0.05), and extract of A. tasoko showed significantly higher antioxidative effect than butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) on linoleic acid peroxidation at 72 h after incubation (p<0.05). Addition of extracts in pork patties did not affect the pH value and total microbes during cold storage. However, thiobarbituric acid reative substances (TBARS) of treated patties were lower in dose dependant manner than that of control as storage period increased (except patties treated with C. unshiu extract), and patties treated with 0.5% A. tasoko extract showed no significant difference with patties treated with 0.5% BHA at day 7.

The growth profile of Bacillus cereus in ready-to-eat (RTE) food products of animal origin was examined under different temperature and incubation conditions. In sandwiches and Kimbab, B. cereus did not grow or exhibited only minimal growth at 4 and 10℃, but it grew rapidly at ambient temperature. In sandwiches, B. cereus did not grow efficiently at 25℃, however, in ham, the main ingredient of sandwiches, B. cereus growth was observed at the same temperature, with bacterial levels reaching 7.94 Log CFU/g after incubation for 24 h at 25℃. Toxigenicity of B. cereus was observed only at temperatures above 25℃. In Kimbab, B. cereus produced toxin after 9 h at 30℃ and after 12 h at 25℃. Ingredients of sandwiches and Kimbab were collected from 3 different Korean food-processing companies to investigate the source of contamination by B. cereus. Among the 13 tested food items, 6 items including ham were found to be contaminated with B. cereus. Of these ingredients, B. cereus isolates from 3 items produced enterotoxins. None of these isolates harbored the emetic toxin-producing gene. The findings of the present study can be used for risk assessments of food products, including ham and cheese, contaminated with B. cereus.

This study was performed to examine the possibility of water extracts for several medicinal plants, such as Amomum tsao-ko, Alpinia oxyphylla, and Citrus unshiu, as an active packaging ingredient for prevention of lipid oxidation. Chicken breast meats were packed with medicinal plant extracts incorporated carrageenan based films and their physico-chemical and microbial properties during storage at $5^{\circ}C$ were investigated. In chicken meat samples packed with A. tsao-ko (TF) or A. oxyphylla (OF) extract incorporated carrageenan based films, pH value, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), and the population of total microbes were significantly lower than those of the negative control (film of no extract was incorporated, CF) after 5 d of storage (p<0.05). Especially, TBARS value of TF ($0.12{\pm}0.01$ mg malonaldehyde/kg meat) was significantly lower than chicken meat samples packed with positive control (ascorbic acid incorporated film, AF, $0.16{\pm}0.01$ mg malonaldehyde/kg meat) at 3 d of storage, and it means TF has enough antioxidative activity to prevent the lipid oxidation of chicken meat. However, there was no consistent effect on VBN values of chicken meats packed with medicinal plant extracts incorporated films during storage. Based on the obtained results, it is considered that A. tsao-ko extract has potential for being used as a natural antioxidant ingredient in active packaging areas.
