      • THE RC7 ENCRYPTION ALGORITHM

Rashmi,Vicky Chawla,Rajni Sehgal Renuka Nagpal 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.9 No.5

Cryptography can be defined as the art of secret writing or protecting information by transforming it (encrypting it) into an unreadable format, called cipher text and then transmitting it across insecure networks, so that it cannot be read by anyone except the intended recipient. Only those who possess a secret key can decipher (or decrypt) the message into plain text. Encrypted information can sometimes be broken by cryptanalysis, also called code breaking, although modern cryptography techniques are virtually unbreakable. Various algorithms help achieve flawless encryption results which are mostly unbreakable. This paper is an attempt to improve one such algorithm, i.e. RC6 by adding on to its existing functionalities.

Iodine Impregnated Poly(N-Vinylpyrrolidone) Grafted Antibacterial Cotton Gauze for Wound Dressing Applications

        Rashmi,Rimpy,Munish Ahuja 한국섬유공학회 2020 Fibers and polymers Vol.21 No.7

The purpose of the present work was to modify the absorbent cotton gauze to improve its functionality asantimicrobial wound dressing. The cotton gauze was modified by grafting of N-vinyl-pyrrolidone using microwave-assistedreactions. The effect of volume of N-vinyl-pyrrolidone and amount of ammonium persulfate on percentage grafting wasoptimized by 2-factor, 3-level central composite experimental design. The optimized batch of gauze-g-NVP wasimpregnated with iodine. The iodine-loaded gauze-g-NVP was characteristically examined by Fourier-transformed infraredspectroscopy and Field emission-scanning electron microscopy studies. The results of energy dispersive X-ray analysisconfirmed the uniform dispersion of iodine on the surface of iodine impregnated poly(NVP)-g-cotton gauze. Further, theiodine-loaded gauze-g-NVP showed blood absorbency and in vitro blood clotting ability comparable to the absorbent cottongauze. However, a significantly higher antimicrobial activity of iodine-loaded gauze-g-NVP against the Staphylococcusaureus and Escherichia coli was observed as compared to the iodine solution of equivalent concentration which can beattributed to the higher retention of iodine at the site of action. In the nutshell, results show that iodine-loaded grafted cottongauze have the desirable and effective antibacterial wound dressing property with excellent blood absorbency and clottingabilities.

Machining Parameters Optimization of AA6061 Using Response Surface Methodology and Particle Swarm Optimization

        Rashmi LMalghan,Karthik Rao M C,ArunKumar S,Shrikantha S Rao,Mervin A Herbert 한국정밀공학회 2018 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.19 No.5

The influence of cutting parameters on the responses in face milling has been examined. Spindle speed, feed rate and depth of cut have been considered as the influential factors. In accordance with the design of experiments (DOE) a series of experiments have been carried out. The paper exemplifies on the optimizing the process parameters in milling through the application of Response surface methodology (RSM), RSM-based Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique and Desirability approach. These aforesaid techniques have been applied to experimentally establish data of AA6061 aluminium material to study the effect of process parameters on the responses such as cutting force, surface roughness and power consumption. By adopting the multiple regression techniques, the interaction between the process parameters are acquired. The optimal parameters have been found by adopting the multi-response optimization techniques, i.e. desirability approach and PSO. The performance capability of PSO and desirability approach is investigated and found that the values obtained from PSO are comparable with the values of desirability approach.

Anti-proliferative and angio-suppressive effect of Stoechospermum marginatum (C. Agardh) Kutzing extract using various experimental models

        Rashmi Vinayak,Shilpa Puttananjaiah,Anil Chatterji,Bharati Salimath 한국영양학회 2014 Nutrition Research and Practice Vol.8 No.4

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Abundant consumption of seaweeds in the diet is epidemiologically linked to the reduction in risk of developing cancer. In larger cases, however, identification of particular seaweeds that are accountable for these effects is still lacking, hindering the recognition of competent dietary-based chemo preventive approaches. The aim of this research was to establish the antiproliferative potency and angiosuppressive mode of action of Stoechospermum marginatum seaweed methanolic extract using various experimental models. MATERIALS/METHODS: Among the 15 seaweeds screened for antiproliferative activity against Ehrlich ascites tumor (EAT) cell line, Stoechospermum marginatum extract (SME) was found to be the most promising. Therefore, it was further investigated for its anti-proliferative activity in-vitro against choriocarcinoma (BeWo) and non-transformed Human embryonic kidney (HEK 293) cells, and for its anti-migratory/tube formation activity against HUVEC cells in-vitro. Subsequently, the angiosuppressive activity of S. marginatum was established by inhibition of angiogenesis in in-vivo (peritoneal angiogenesis and chorioallantoic membrane assay) and ex-vivo (rat cornea assay) models. RESULTS: Most brown seaweed extracts inhibited the proliferation of EAT cells, while green and red seaweed extracts were much less effective. According to the results, SME selectively inhibited proliferation of BeWo cells in-vitro in a dose-dependent manner, but had a lesser effect on HEK 293 cells. SME also suppressed the migration and tube formation of HUVEC cells in-vitro. In addition, SME was able to suppress VEGF-induced angiogenesis in the chorio allantoic membrane, rat cornea, and tumor induced angiogenesis in the peritoneum of EAT bearing mice. A decrease in the microvessel density count and CD31 antigen staining of treated mice peritoneum provided further evidence of its angiosuppressive activity. CONCLUSIONS: Altogether, the data underline that VEGF mediated angiogenesis is the target for the angiosuppressive action of SME and could potentially be useful in cancer prevention or treatment involving stimulated angiogenesis.

Career Selective Si Solar Cells: Modelling and Performance Metrics Evaluation

Rashmi Chawla,Poonam Singhal,Amit Kumar Garg 한국전기전자재료학회 2021 Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Material Vol.22 No.5

Silicon (Si) junctionless solar Photo Voltaic Cells (PVCs) with semiconducting carrier selective blocking layer can modify output efficiency of solar cell. In this research work, we have proposed use of both electron–hole selective layer in Si solar cell with SILVACO simulation. This paper simulates and evaluates two possible electron-selective oxides (TiO2 and ZnO) and two possible hole-selective oxides (CuAlO2 and NiO). The results in terms of solar performance metric is compared and further TiO2 and NiO as carrier selective layers are proposed. The simulation results suggest the fermi level pinning on the device as a reason for increase in output efficiency. This research work comprehends a considerable understanding to band-engineer selective contact semiconducting oxide Si junctionless solar cell device. The performance parameters with Jsc = 10.08 mA/cm 2 , Voc = 2.69 V, fi ll factor (FF) = 99.8% and conversion efficiency of 27.09% (1 sun) are obtained underAM1.5G illumination.

African Union-India-Asean : An Unconventional Connect for Promoting Peace and Security in the Region

Rashmi Kapoor 한국외국어대학교 아프리카연구소 2019 Asian Journal of African Studies Vol.- No.46

The African Union, India and the Asean – three different entities of the Indian Ocean region, though, are miles apart, but have commonalities and capacities if entered into alliance can be as competitive as any other international organisation. The African Union (AU) is a continental organisation of 55 countries, India a major global player of the region and the Asean is a regional association of ten Southeast Asian countries with many emerging economies. The geostrategic positioning of these regions is interesting. These regions form the frontiers of the Indian Ocean with Asean countries to the east, India in the north and the large African continent to its west. Incidentally, both the Asean and the African countries are neighbours to the Americas, the Asean countries through the Pacific Ocean and Africa through the Atlantic Ocean. Flanking the Indian Ocean from all sides places them in an advantageous position to be able to control the Ocean. The article argues that these regions if form an alliance can have a strategic advantage and strategic control of the Indian Ocean, which is most crucial for maintaining security and the sustenance of the global trade. This unconventional connect can be a game changer not only in the Indian Ocean region but also in the global politics and global governance.

Impedance control of three dimensional hybrid manipulator

Rashmi Arora,Tarun K. Bera 대한기계학회 2020 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.34 No.1

The hybrid manipulators are always found to be of great use in industries due to the major shortcoming of serial manipulators (lesser accuracy and heavy structure) and parallel manipulators (small workspace). Henceforth, a three-dimensional hybrid manipulator is presented in this paper and this hybrid manipulator connects two parallel manipulators in a serial arrangement. Afterwards, the theory of impedance control with some changes is applied for an operation on a three dimensional L-shaped path having some restrictions imposed on the interactive forces when the manipulator is interacting with an object in its environment along with an approach to eliminate amnesia i.e. difference between the actual trajectory and the command trajectory. The overwhelming controller is used between the actual system and the inverse controller. It is observed from the result that there is always some amnesia during force control and some time is provided before the next phase of force control to remove this difference in trajectory.
