      • 蒙古症 兒童의 睡液內 免疫글로블린A 濃度와 우식罹患率의 相互 關聯性

        The purpose of this study was to research salivary IgA concentration and the relationship between dental caries incidence and salivary IgA concentration in mongoloid children. In addition to this, it was investigated salivary flow rate and DI-S which was a division of OHI-S. 25 mongoloid and 25 normal children aged from 7 to 13 were selected for this study. The obtained results were as follows: The mean value of IgA concentration in unstimulated whole saliva was 29.60±15.70㎎/100ml in mongoloid children group and 18.60±8.65㎎/100ml in normal children group, and its difference was significant statistically (p<0.025). Relationship between salivary IgA concentration and DMFS index (deciduous and permanent tooth) was revealed negative correlation in mongoloid (r=-0,555, p<0.005), but there was very poor negative correlation in normal children group (r=-0.284, p<0.1). The value of df rate, dft rate, DMF rate and DMFT rate of mongoloid children group was lower than that of normal children. The mean value of salivary flow rate in mongoloid children group was lower than that of normal group, and its difference was significant statistically (p<0.0005). The mean value of DI-S in mongoloid children group was higher than that of normal children group, and its difference was significant statistically (p<0.005).

        The autochthonous and allochthonous organic carbon loading were measured in Lake Soyang, to estimate the amount of carbon loading into the lake and the contribution of their sources to the lake's carbon loading. Autochthonous carbon loading was estimated from phytoplankton primary production with the extracellular organic carbon(EOC). Allochthonous loding was determined by measuring dissolved organic carbon(DOC) and particulate organic carbon(POC) concentration in the main inflowing Soyang River. Both autochthonous and allochthonous organic carbon loading were high during the summer, from July to September, and accounted for 43.2% and 71.7% of the annual loading, respectively. Primary productivity was elevated up to 1,000 mgCm^(-2)d^(-1)during summer and lowest in winter. EOC production from phytoplankton was also large in summer, resulting in a high DOC concentration in the lake water. Primary production of phytoplankton and allochthonous organic matter loading from the watershed contributed to 53.6% and 46.4% of total loading, respectively. The EOC production accounted for 4.4~21.2% of POC primary production, implying that EOC production of phytolankton must be considered in estimation of primary production.

      • 건축물 풍하중 기준 산정을 위한 온라인 시스템 개발

        An enactment of Korean Standard Design Loads for Buildings in 2000 by Ministry of Construction and Transportation has renovated wind load standard in many aspects; the refinement of much of fundamental data on more robust and theoretical foundations and the consideration of diverse cases for wind-to-building situations. At the stage of building design, many parameters are variable, which affect the estimation of wind loads. However, the procedure of wind load estimation from the standard is very tedious and troublesome, even erroneous. Hence, the automation of the wind load estimating procedure is of importance to increase both efficiency and accuracy in engineering and business. This paper present the development of online system to estimate wind loads on buildings. The web-based program has been developed in two part: one for server side using ASP and the other for client side using HTML and Javascript. A client’s request accompanied with necessary information invokes the server-side program through network and the wind load estimation computed in the server returns in tabulated forms. Most of the fundamental data in the standard are stored in a database using Microsoft. Access, which is repeatedly used in the wind load estimation using SQL. With the developed online system for wind load estimation, it is expected that work efficiency and accuracy is increased and cost is reduced.

        癩患者群에서의 精神疾患 有病狀態에 관한 調査

        The prevalence of mental disorders was studied by means of an intensive census visiting method in a large leprosy colony which is located at Jun-Ra-Nam Do, Go-Heung Goon, So-Rok Do. All the patients in the colony were 4,263 in number and majority of them showed very low socioeconomic state & educational level. This study was performed in June, 1973. & the following results were obtained. 1. 56 cases of schizophrenia, 2 cases of manic depressive psychoses, 22 cases of epilepsy, 14cases of senile psychoses, 6 cases of organic brain syndrome and 4 miscellaneous cases were observed from the total 4,263 patients. Thus the prevalence rate was 1.314% for schizophrenia, 0.047% for manicde pressive psychoses, 0.516% for epilepsy, 0.328% for senile psychoses & the corrected prevalence rate was 1.754%, 0.074%, 0.60% and 2.11%, respectively for the above 4 psychoses. 2. 61% of cases were more than 40 years old. Most cases showed stabilized, regressed mental state and their course is a chronic one. 3. Nearly 90% of cases had more than 5 years of morbid state and in only 4 cases the duration was less than 2 years. 4. Regular drug medication was performed in nearly one third of cases but half of the cases was left alone without any treatment. 5. In more than one half of the cases, physically handicapped states was observed. 6. Only 1/5 of the cases had a marital life with their partner and the remainder lived alone.

      • 광주시 환경오염에 관한 조사연구 (Ⅰ) : 대기오염 및 소음에 관하여 A Study on Air Pollution and Noise Level

        Air pollution in Gwangju area was examined for six months from August, 1977 to January. 1978. The surveyed area was divided into four; Industrial, Commercial, Residential and Park area. 'Ten surveying sites which were representing the characteristics of each area were selected. The measuring methods were; the Lead dioxide cylinder method for Sulfur oxides, Triethanolamine plate method for Nitrogen dioxide, Deposit Gauge method of Dustfall, and the Rion noise meter for Noise level. The results we obtained are as follows. 1. SULFUR OXIDES The mean of Sulfur oxides was 0.355㎎SO₃/day/100㎠PbO₂, ranging from 0.12 to 0.57㎎SO₃/day/100㎠PbO₂. The mean value of Sulfur oxides was 0.57㎎SO₃/day/100㎠PbO₂ for Reidential area, 0.51㎎SO₃/day/100㎠PbO₂ for Commercial area(Keumnam-Ro 3 Ka), 0.34㎎SO₃/day/100㎠PbO₂for Industrial area (Im-Dong), and 0.21㎎SO₃/day/100㎠PbO₂ for Park area, respectively. 2. NITROGEN DIOXIDES The mean value of Nitrogen dioxides was 40.75㎍/NO₂/day/100㎠, ranging from 29.79 to 40.75㎍ NO₂/day/100㎠. At Commercial area where the value was the highest, the range of Nitrogene dioxides level was 35.32~50.88㎍ NO₂/day/100㎠. 3. DUSTFALL The mean value of dustfall was 12.8ton/㎢/month, ranging from 5.032 to 24.11 ton/㎢/month. The dustfall for Commercial area was higher than any other area. 4. NOISE The mean value of noise level was 58 dB(A) ranging from 43.3 to 64.4 dB(A). The noise of 64.4 dB(A), at Commercial area was higher than any other area.

        치과 상아질 접착제의 돌연변이성 연구

        It is known that mutagenic effects can be related to various serious diseases, including cancer and birth defects. Therefore, detailed attention must be given to methodologies for evaluation of mutagenicity of dental materials, so that safe use of the products is ensured. The aims of this study were investigated the potential mutagenicity of compounds from 9 commercial dentin bonding agents (including primers and adhesives) using the Ames Salmonella typhimurium/microsome assays. Through this tests, Tenure S Bond Enhancer was showed mutagenecity and Tenure and Prima less in Salmonella typhimurium TA100 without metabolic activation. Hipolite Dentine was showed slight and Veridonfil-Photo, Prima and Tokuso Mac-Bond less in Salmonella typhimurium TA100 with metabolic activation. From this study, it was needed to further study with other kind of mutagenic tests.

        Furoxan derivatives containing naphthyl group was designed and synthesised as pohtochemical nitric oxide precussor. Naphthyl furoxan 4 was prepared by the [2+3] cycloaddition of the nitrile oxide generated in situ from the iminoyl chloride 3. The preparation of iminoyl chloride 3 was proceeded from naphthyl aldehyde 1 by the reaction with N-chlorosuccinimide following oxime formation. Naphthyl furoxan 4 was irradiated on 300 nm in CH2Cl2 to give alkyne 5 confirming NO generation.

        The trapping of electrons and holes at a semiconductor surface by traps is located in the oxide adjacent to the semiconductor. The trappings are applied to yield the conductance and capacitance of MOS (Metal Oxide Semiconductor) device, and also the frequency and bias dependence of an MOS capacitor. And the flucuations are considered to be generated by interface charge nonuniformities. Interface state parameters are studied here in MOS capacitors over a wide range of energy by conductance and capacitance. The density of interface states are founded to be function of energy.
