In ethylene plant, the foulant generation is a troublesome issue during the process operation and its formation can be resisted by the antifoulant. In an attempt to provide an efficient antifoulant, the characteristics and the factors causing foulant generation were studied. In addition, the characteristics and evaluation method of the efficiency of antifoulant were investigated. As a result, one of the main factor for the cause of foulant is known to the formation of gums by radical polymerization of olefins in the process streams. The simulation experiment using Autoclave was performed to measure the extend of gum formation suggesting of its potential as a testing method of the antifouling agents.

In an attempt to provide a useful light-emitting material in the organic electroluminescence diode, nitrochrysene 5 was prepared by the nitration of the tetrahydrochrysene 4 using dinitrogen tetraoxide as a key step. The chrysene 4 was obtained from the methyl cinnamate in 3 steps. The mono-nitration was confirmed by the IR, ^1H-NMR and ^13C-NMR spectra of chrysene 5. The results suggest that the synthetic methods for the nitrochrysene 5 is applicable to the synthesis of various chrysene derivatives containing donor-acceptor groups at 2, 8-positions.

Furoxan derivatives containing naphthyl group was designed and synthesised as pohtochemical nitric oxide precussor. Naphthyl furoxan 4 was prepared by the [2+3] cycloaddition of the nitrile oxide generated in situ from the iminoyl chloride 3. The preparation of iminoyl chloride 3 was proceeded from naphthyl aldehyde 1 by the reaction with N-chlorosuccinimide following oxime formation. Naphthyl furoxan 4 was irradiated on 300 nm in CH2Cl2 to give alkyne 5 confirming NO generation.

The furoxan 6 containing TBDMS group was prepared by the dimerization of the corresponding nitric oxide that was generated in situ from the N-hydroxy iminoyl chloride 5. The synthetic route for the furoxan containing TBDMS provides more efficient NMR spectroscopic analysis to that using THP as a hydroxyl protecting group. In addition to this,the yield in [3+2] cycloaddition of the corresponding nitric oxide for the furoxan 6 was higher (〉95%) than that in the reaction using THP protecting group. Those results suggest us thst TBDMS group is considered as better protecting group than THP for the synthesis of furoxan containing thiol group.

The sugar esters of lauric acid (1, 2) were prepared and characterized using TLC and NMR spectroscopic data. The R_f value of the mono-ester 1 was 0.18 when analized on silica gel coated TLC using the solution of 2/1/1 mixture of toluene/ethyl acetate/ethanol as an elution solvent. This results are expected to provide an analytical method for the preparation of diverse sugar esters of long-chain fatty acid as representative surfactant useful in the manufacture of ice cream, milk and many other foods.

The metal salts of various fatty acids were prepared and their SEM data are collected. The morphology of metalated fatty acids (decanoic, stearic and 12-hydroxyst earic) showed more branched thread-like clusters than those of fatty acids. Among the prepared metal salts of various fatty acids, the morphology of lithium 12-hydroxystearate (Li-HSA) showed some similarity to the reticular structure suitable to be a proper thickener in grease formulation.

The recovery process of the useful solvents from the industrial waste of the biocide production process was studied. The waste includes significant amount of ethyl acetate that is very useful in many industries. But the waste is very toxic and highly acidic. The ethyl acetate extracted by this new designed process composed with neutralization and distillation showed commercially acceptable purity. The purity of the obtained ethyl acetate was over 99.5% and recovery yield was over 60%.
알릴-NBD와 페닐 니트릴옥사이드의 [3+2] 고리화 반응에 의한 형광 이속사졸 유도체의 합성

As a reaction probe for the polymerization of nitrile oxide, fluorescent isoxasole derirative 3 was synthesized via [3+2] cycloaddition of phenyl nitrile oxide with allyl-NBD(7-nitrobenzofurazan) 1. Allyl-NBD 1 was prepared by the nucleophilic substitution of NBD chloride with allyl amine in 45% yield. The phenyl nitril oxide was generated in situ by the treatment of N-hydroxyphenyl iminoyl chloride 2 with a base trithly anime.
