        Radiographic and ultrasonographic features of emphysematous pyometra with endometrial pneumatosis in a dog

        A 9-year-old, intact female, Pungsan dog was referred for purulent vaginal discharge and depression. Abdominal radiographs revealed gas-filled and soft tissue opacity tubular structures in the mid to caudal abdomen. On ultrasonography, fluid-filled uterus and cervix accompanied by hyperechoic foci and reverberation artifacts were identified. Multiple hyperechoic foci were found within the uterine wall, indicating gas content. Escherichia coli was isolated from aerobic and anaerobic bacterial cultures. Radiological differential diagnosis of tubular shaped, dilated gas-filled structure, and gas in the wall of the structure should consider emphysematous pyometra with endometrial pneumatosis in intact female dogs with vulvar discharge.

        반응형 캐릭터의 표정 코딩을 위한 감정 맵 제안

        연구배경 가상공간 또는 확장 현실 콘텐츠에서 가상의 존재와의 상호작용, 더 나아가 현실 공간에서 로봇과 같은 인공존재와의 감정교류에 관한 관심이 높아졌다. 이러한 존재를 반응형 캐릭터라고 정의하고, 반응형 캐릭터가 표정으로 감정을 표현하기 위한 감정맵을 제안하고자 한다. 연구방법 첫째, 401개 감성 어휘에 대한 분석을 포커스 그룹 인터뷰와 카드 소팅을 병행해 시행하였다. 둘째, 폴 에크만과 로버트 플루칙의 감정이론을 토대로 감정 맵의 틀을 구축하였다. 셋째, 감정표현 방법을 도출하기 위해 선행연구와 이모티콘 사례분석을 실시하였다. 넷째, 표정에 관한 감정맵과 프로그램으로 감정을 표현할 수 있는 파라미터를 제안하였다. 연구결과 감정모델과 차원모델을 결합해 여덟 가지 감정 유형의 3단계 강도의 감정을 표현 할 수 있는 코딩 시스템인 EF Map을 제안하였다. 이 과정에서 도출 된 연구내용은 첫째, 긍정적 감정 네 가지(편안함, 놀라움, 기쁨, 사랑)와 부정적 감정 네 가지(두려움, 혐오, 분노, 슬픔)를 상반된 감정쌍으로 구분하고, 각 유형에 대한 감정 어휘들을 강도별로 분류하여 제안하였다. 둘째, 감정표현을 위한 주요 코딩 파라미터(눈, 눈동자, 눈꺼풀, 입, 코, 눈썹, 색, 주변효과)를 도출하고, 네 가지 중요 파라미터(눈, 눈동자, 눈꺼품, 입)를 중심으로 사례 분석 결과를 토대로 유형에 따른 표정 코딩 시스템을 제안하였다. 본 연구를 통한 결론은 감성 표현을 위한 감성 어휘를 확대 했다는 것과 다양한 표정 연출이 가능한 표정 제작 시스템을 제안했다는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 반응형 캐릭터의 감정 표현 방법에 집중했으나, 향후 감정 표현에 대한 사용자의 요구에 대한 분석과 소셜 로봇과 같은 반응형 캐릭터의 자동변환 감정 등에 대한 연구를 진행하고자 한다. Background The interest in interactions with virtual beings on AR or MR contents has increased. Furthermore, many studies on emotional communication with artificial beings such as robots in real space are also being conducted. This existence is defined as a reactive character, and an emotion map for expression of reactive character is proposed in this study. Methods First, analysis for 401 emotional vocabulary was conducted by FGI and card sorting. Second, the framework of the emotion map was proposed based on the emotion theory of Paul Ekman and Robert Plutchik. Thrid, precedent studies and case analysis on emoticon were conducted to derive emotion expression methods. Results EF Map, a coding system that can express eight types and three levels of intensity for emotion, was proposed based on emotion model and the dimensional model. The research contents are as follows. First, four positive emotions (comfort, surprise, joy, and love) and four negative emotions (fear, disgust, anger, and sadness) were divided into opposite pairs. In addition, the emotional vocabulary for each type was classified by intensity. Second, coding parameters for expressing emotions (eyes, pupils, eyelids, mouth, nose, eyebrows, color, and peripheral effects) were derived. Based on the case analysis results, an expression coding system according to types was proposed on four important parameters (eyes, pupils, eyelids, and mouth). Conclusion The conclusion of this study is that the emotional vocabulary for emotional expression has been expanded and that various facial expressions can be produced through 'EF Map'. In this study, we focused on the method of expressing emotions of reacitve characters, we intend to analyze the user's request for expression of emotions and conduct the research on the automatic conversion emotions.

        실습 스트레스 및 실습 만족도, 임상수행능력의 차이

        본 연구의 목적은 COVID-19 상황에서 교내실습 경험한 작업치료대학생과 임상실습을 경험한 작업치료대학생의 실습 스트레스 및 실습 만족도, 임상수행능력의 차이를 파악하는 것이다. 2021년 8월 23일부터 9월 15일까지 작업치료대학생 83명에게 설문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 24.0을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 실습 스트레스는 임상실습을 경험한 작업치료대학생이 유의미하게 높았고, 실습 만족도는 교내실습을 경험한 작업치료대학생이 유의미하게 높았다. 임상수행능력은 임상실습을 경험한 작업치료대학생이 유의미하게 높았다. 이에 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 COVID-19와 같은 전염성 질환에 대비한 대면, 비대면, 교내, 임상 등 다양한 방법의 실습 프로그램의 개발과 학습방법에 대한 연구가 추가적으로 필요할 것으로 본다. This study investigated the differences in practice stress, practice satisfaction, and clinical competence between occupational therapy students who experienced school practice and those who experienced clinical practice during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data were collected using survey questionnaires received from 83 occupational therapy students in Aug. 23 to Sept. 15, 2021 and then analyzed using SPSS 24.0. Research results showed that the occupational therapy students who experienced clinical practice had statistically significantly higher practice stress and clinical competence, whereas those who experienced school practice had statistically significantly higher practice satisfaction. Based on the findings of this study, further research is necessary on the development of various practice programs and learning methods, including face-to-face, non-contact, intramural, and clinical practices, in preparation for infectious diseases such as COVID-19.

        Relationship Between the Loudness Dependence of the Auditory Evoked Potential and the Severity of Suicidal Ideation in Patients with Major Depressive Disorder

        Objective: The loudness dependence of the auditory evoked potential (LDAEP) is a reliable indicator that is inversely related to central serotonergic activity, and recent studies have suggested an association between LDAEP and suicidal ideation. This study investigated differences in LDAEP between patients with major depressive disorder and high suici-dality and those with major depressive disorder and low suicidality compared to healthy controls. Methods: This study included 67 participants: 23 patients with major depressive disorder with high suicidality (9 males, mean age 29.3 ± 15.7 years, total score of SSI-BECK ≥ 15), 22 patients with major depressive disorder with low suicidality (9 males, mean age 42.2 ± 14.4 years, total score of SSI-BECK ≤ 14), and 22 healthy controls (11 males, mean age 31.6 ± 8.7 years). Participants completed the following assessments: Patient Health Questionnaire-9, Beck Depression Inventory-II, Beck Scale for Suicidal ideation, State Anxiety Scale of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, Beck Anxiety Inventory, and LDAEP (measured at electrode Cz). Results: There were no sex-related differences among groups (p = 0.821). The high-suicidality group exhibited sig-nificantly higher LDAEP compared to the low-suicidality group (0.82 ± 0.79 vs. 0.26 ± 0.36, p = 0.014). No significant differences were found between the control and high-suicidality (p = 0.281) or the control and low-suicidality groups (p = 0.236). Conclusion: LDAEP was applied to demonstrate the association between serotonergic activity and suicidal ideation and suicide risk in major depression and may be a candidate of biological marker for preventing suicide in this study.

        경도인지장애 노인을 위한 인지프로그램의 효과-무작위 대조군 실험연구의 체계적 문헌고찰-

        본 연구의 목적은 경도인지장애 노인의 인지기능 향상을 위한 중재와 효과에 대한 근거의 통합적 고찰을 시행하는 것이다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 2010년부터 2021년 3월까지 국내의 논문 검색데이터베이스를 통해 경도인지장애(mild cognitive iImpairment), 인지(cognition), 인지기능(cognitive function) 등을 주제어로 검색된 논문들에 대한 문헌 고찰을 수행하였다. 논문의 선택 및 제외기준에 따라 무작위대조군실험(randomized controlled trials) 연구 최종 13편이 선정되었다. 분석 결과, 2가지 이상의 활동을 결합한 복합중재를 제공하는 경우가 많았고, 중재기간은 주2회, 60분, 12주가 대다수였다. 또한 인지기능 향상을 확인하기 위해 사용된 평가는 MMSE이었다. 본 연구는 국내 경도인지장애 노인의 인지기능 향상을 위한 무작위대조 실험연구를 체계적으로 고찰하여 특징을 비교 및 분석하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 그러나 국내뿐만 아니라 국외의 연구를 분석하지 못했다는 제한점이 있기에 연구결과의 일반화를 위해서는 이를 보완한 반복적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 본다. This study was conducted a systematic review for integrating evidence of intervention and effectiveness for cognitive function improvement in the elderly with Mild Cognitive Impairment. Data search was conducted from 2010 to Mar. 2021, using terms “Mild Cognitive Impairment”, “Cognition”, and “Cognitive Function”, through domestic literature search databases. A total of 13 randomized controlled trials were selected according to selection and exclusion criteria. As a result, multimodal intervention combining two or more activities was the most frequently used, and the majority of the period was twice a week, 60 minutes, and 12 weeks. The mainly used measurement for the assessment of cognitive function improvement was MMSE. Therefore, it is considered that a follow-up study is needed to develop a cognitive program for the elderly with mild cognitive impairment based on this study results and to confirm its effectiveness.

      • A Single Stage AC-DC Converter for Wireless Power Transfer System

        In the field of electric vehicles, researches on wireless power transfer (WPT) charging system have been developed recently because of environmental problems and convenience. In this paper, we proposed a wireless power transfer charging system using a single stage AC/DC converter that can be reduced in size and weight, as well as ensuring convenience. The proposed single-stage AC/DC converter can control the wide output voltage (250 VDC~350 VDC) by the link voltage and pulsewidth voltage applied to CLLC resonant circuit through the phase-shifted modulation at a fixed switching frequency. Also, the input power factor (PF) and the total harmonic distortion (THDi) by using the proposed converter can be improved. A 1 kW prototype was fabricated and validated through experimental results and analysis

        Optimal Fermentation Conditions of Hyaluronidase Inhibition Activity on Asparagus cochinchinensis Merrill by Weissella cibaria

        This study was conducted to evaluate the hyaluronidase (HAase) inhibition activity of Asparagus cochinchinesis (AC) extracts following fermentation by Weissella cibaria through response surface methodology. To optimize the HAase inhibition activity, a central composite design was introduced based on four variables: the concentration of AC extract (X<sub>1</sub>: 1-5%), amount of starter culture (X<sub>2</sub>: 1-5%), pH (X<sub>3</sub>: 4-8), and fermentation time (X<sub>4</sub>: 0-10 days). The experimental data were fitted to quadratic regression equations, the accuracy of the equations was analyzed by ANOVA, and the regression coefficients for the surface quadratic model of HAase inhibition activity in the fermented AC extract were estimated by the F test and the corresponding p values. The HAase inhibition activity indicated that fermentation time was most significant among the parameters within the conditions tested. To validate the model, two different conditions among those generated by the Design Expert program were selected. Under both conditions, predicted and experimental data agreed well. Moreover, the content of protodioscin (a well-known compound related to anti-inflammation activity) was elevated after fermentation of the AC extract at the optimized fermentation condition.

        <▼1><▼1><P>A quinoidal polymer, PQuBTV, with high planarity and extended π-electron delocalization was synthesized by short synthetic steps. The polymer PQuBTV showed balanced ambipolar and high charge carrier mobilities.</P></▼1><▼2><P>An attractive synthetic strategy for incorporating a quinoidal molecule into a conjugated polymer backbone with three short steps is reported here. The quinoidal polymer, PQuBTV, exhibited high planarity and extended conjugation. As a result, ambipolar charge carrier mobilities of 0.52 cm<SUP>2</SUP> V<SUP>−1</SUP> s<SUP>−1</SUP> for holes and 0.53 cm<SUP>2</SUP> V<SUP>−1</SUP> s<SUP>−1</SUP> for electrons were observed in field-effect transistor devices.</P></▼2></▼1>
