Clinical Comparison of Proximal Gastrectomy With Double-Tract Reconstruction Versus Total Gastrectomy With Roux-en-Y Anastomosis for Siewert Type II/III Adenocarcinoma of the Esophagogastric Junction

        Ma Xiaoming,Zhao Mingzuo,Wang Jian,Pan Haixing,Wu Jianqiang,Xing Chungen 대한위암학회 2022 Journal of gastric cancer Vol.22 No.3

Purpose The incidence of adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEG) has increased in recent years, and the optimal surgical strategy for AEG remains highly controversial. We aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of proximal gastrectomy with double-tract reconstruction (PG-DT) for the treatment of patients with AEG. Materials and Methods We retrospectively analyzed patients with Siewert type II/III AEG between January 2013 and July 2018. Clinicopathological characteristics, survival, surgical outcomes, quality of life (QOL), and nutritional status were compared between the PG-DT and total gastrectomy with Roux-en-Y anastomosis (TG-RY) groups. Results After propensity score matching, 33 patients in each group were analyzed. There were no statistical differences between the 2 groups in terms of disease-free survival and overall survival. The surgical option was not an independent prognostic factor based on the multivariate analysis. In addition, no differences were found in terms of surgical complications. There were no significant differences in QOL assessed by the Visick grade, Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale, or endoscopic findings. Furthermore, the long-term nutritional advantage of the PG-DT group was significantly greater than that of the TG-RY group. Conclusions PG-DT is a safe and effective procedure for patients with local Siewert type II/III AEG, regardless of the TNM stage. Characteristics of Desulfurized Rubber Asphalt and Mixture

        Tao Ma,Yongli Zhao,Xiaoming Huang,Yao Zhang 대한토목학회 2016 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.20 No.4

This paper investigated the modification mechanism of the desulfurized rubber asphalt, and compared its performances with those of crumb rubber asphalt. The microstructures of desulfurized rubber asphalt and crumb rubber asphalt were identified by using the scanning electron microscope technology, component analysis and infrared spectrum analysis. Conventional and Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP) performance tests were conducted to evaluate the performances of desulfurized rubber asphalt and crumb rubber asphalt. Mixture performance tests were also performed to characterize the high temperature rutting resistance, low temperature cracking resistance, moisture stability and fatigue life of the desulfurized rubber asphalt mixture and crumb rubber asphalt mixture. It was found that the modification mechanisms of desulfurized rubber asphalt and crumb rubber asphalt are different. The desulfurized rubber can integrate into the asphalt while the crumb rubber mainly exists incompatibly in asphalt. This difference results in the various performances between the desulfurized rubber asphalt and crumb rubber asphalt. Both crumb rubber and desulfurized rubber can improve the performance of asphalt binder and mixture, but the desulfurized rubber asphalt has much lower viscosity and better storage stability than the crumb rubber asphalt. The preparing temperature of the desulfurized rubber asphalt mixture can be reduced by 10~20°C compared to the crumb rubber asphalt mixture. Moreover, without the interference of solid rubber particles, the desulfurized rubber asphalt can be used in dense-graded asphalt mixture while crumb rubber asphalt mixture tends to use gap gradation with high asphalt content.

Coupled irradiation-thermal-mechanical analysis of the solid-state core in a heat pipe cooled reactor

        Yugao Ma,Jiusong Liu,Hongxing Yu,Changqing Tian,Shanfang Huang,Jian Deng,Xiaoming Chai,Yu Liu,Xiaoqiang He 한국원자력학회 2022 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.54 No.6

The solid-state core of a heat pipe cooled reactor operates at high temperatures over 1000 K withthermal and irradiation-induced expansion during burnup. The expansion changes the gap thicknessbetween the solid components and the material properties, and may even cause the gap closure, whichthen significantly influences the thermal and mechanical characteristics of the reactor core. This studydeveloped an irradiation behavior model for HPRTRAN, a heat pipe reactor system analysis code, tointroduce the irradiation effects such as swelling and creep. The megawatt heat pipe reactor MegaPowerwas chosen as an application case. The coupled irradiation-thermal-mechanical model was developed tosimulate the irradiation effects on the heat transfer and stresses of the whole reactor core. The resultsshow that the irradiation deformation effect is significant, with the irradiation-induced strains up to2.82% for fuel and 0.30% for monolith at the end of the reactor lifetime. The peak temperatures during thelifetime are 1027:3 K for the fuel and 956:2 K for monolith. The gap closure enhances the heat transferbut caused high stresses exceeding the yield strength in the monolith

Development and validation of reactor nuclear design code CORCA-3D

        Ping An,Yongqiang Ma,Peng Xiao,Fengchen Guo,Wei Lu,Xiaoming Chai 한국원자력학회 2019 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.51 No.7

The advanced node core code CORCA-3D is one of the independent developed codes of NPIC for the nuclear reactor core design. CORCA-3D code can calculate the few-group cross section, solve the 3D diffusion equations, consider the thermal-hydraulic feedback, reconstruct the pin-by-pin power. It has lots of functions such as changing core status calculation, critical searching, control rod value calculation, coefficient calculation and so on. The main theory and functions of CORCA-3D code are introduced and validated with a lot of reactor measured data and the SCIENCE system. Now, CORCA-3D code has been applied in ACP type reactor nuclear cores design.

      • Ficolin2 defends against virulent Mycobacteria tuberculosis infections in vivo and its insufficiency is associated with infections in human

        Fengling Luo,Yubin Wang,Xiaoming Sun,Qilong Wang,Yunfeng Ma,Qin Pan,Xiao-Lian Zhang 한국당과학회 2012 한국당과학회 학술대회 Vol.2012 No.1

Tuberculosis (TB) caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb) remains a major global health problem. Human ficolin2 (L-ficolin/P35) is a recently identified lectin complement pathway activator present in normal plasma associated with infectious diseases, however, little is known about the roles and mechanisms of ficolin2 during M.tb infection. We describe in this study for the first time L-ficolin expression levels in tuberculosis (TB) patients. We found that serum levels of ficolin2 of 107 pulmonary TB patients were much lower compared with 107 healthy controls, and recurrence TB patients have even lower levels than onset TB patients. In vitro analysis showed that Ficolin2 bound to virulent M.tb H37Rv strain much stronger than to non-virulent M. bovis BCG and M. smegmatis. Ficolin2/ficolin A bound to the H37Rv surface glycolipid portion and blocked H37Rv infection to human lung A549 cells. We further determined that the extrogenous ficolin2 had remarkable protecting effects against virulent H37Rv strain infections in C57BL/6J mice. FicolinA (ficolin2 like molecule) knockout mice had greatly increased susceptibility to the H37Rv infection. Ficolin2 activated macrophages via phosphorylation of JNK and stimulated IFN-□, IL-17, TNF-□ and nitric oxide (NO) secretions. Ficolin2 also stimulated IFN-□ production of CD8+T cells, but not CD4+T cells. The opsono-phagocytosis was promoted by ficolin2 as well. Our data demonstrate that ficolin2 can defend against virulent M.tb H37Rv infection both in vitro and in vivo mainly via activating macrophage proinflammatory cytokines IFN-□ and NO production and opsonophagocytosis, and its insufficiency is associated with more susceptible infections in human.

Enhanced Performance of Near-Infrared-Absorption CdSeTe Quantum Dot-Sensitized Solar Cells Via Octa-Aminopropyl Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane Modification

        Xue Zhao,Ruina Ma,An Du,Yinan Zhang,Xue Zhao,Yongzhe Fan,Xiaoming Cao 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2019 NANO Vol.14 No.7

The charge recombination caused by surface defects limits photovoltaic properties of quantum dot-sensitized solar cells (QDSSCs), which can be suppressed by modifying organic or inorganic molecules and atomic ligands. In this paper, octa-aminopropyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (OA-POSS) connected and modified near-infrared absorption CdSeTe quantum dots (QDs) through coupling agent (1-ethyl-3-3-dimethylaminopropyl carbodiimide hydrochloride). The results suggest that OA-POSS reduces the surface defects of CdSeTe QDs and suppresses charge recombination. Therefore, the power conversion efficiency improves nearly 41%, which increases from 2.00% to 2.82%.
