Abstract

Fabrication of organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs) using a high‐throughput printing process has garnered tremendous interest for realizing low‐cost and large‐area flexible electronic devices. Printing of organic semiconductors for active layer of transistor is one of the most critical steps for achieving this goal. The charge carrier transport behavior in this layer, dictated by the crystalline microstructure and molecular orientations of the organic semiconductor, determines the transistor performance. Here, it is demonstrated that an inkjet‐printed single‐droplet of a semiconducting/insulating polymer blend holds substantial promise as a means for implementing direct‐write fabrication of organic transistors. Control of the solubility of the semiconducting component in a blend solution can yield an inkjet‐printed single‐droplet blend film characterized by a semiconductor nanowire network embedded in an insulating polymer matrix. The inkjet‐printed blend films having this unique structure provide effective pathways for charge carrier transport through semiconductor nanowires, as well as significantly improve the on‐off current ratio and the environmental stability of the printed transistors.

On the structural behavior of ship's shell structures due to impact loading
Lim, Hyung Kyun,Lee, Joo-Sung The Society of Naval Architects of Korea 2018 International Journal of Naval Architecture and Oc Vol.10 No.1
When collision accident between ships or between ship and offshore platform occurs, a common phenomenon that occurs in structures is the plastic deformation accompanied by a large strain such as fracture. In this study, for the rational design against accidental limit state, the plastic material constants of steel plate which is heated by line heating and steel plate formed by cold bending procedure have been defined through the numerical simulation for the high speed tension test. The usefulness of the material constants included in Cowper-Symonds model and Johnson-Cook model and the assumption that strain rate can be neglected when strain rate is less than the intermediate speed are verified through free drop test as well as comparing with numerical results in several references. This paper ends with describing the future study.

Study Design: An experimental study with extracellular vesicles (EVs) from mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) of the epidural fat (EF) of the spine. Purpose: This study aims to isolate the exosomes from epidural fat-derived mesenchymal stem cells (EF-MSCs) and fully characterize the EF-MSC-EVs. Overview of Literature: EF-MSCs were reported in 2019, and a few studies have shown the positive outcomes of using EF-MSCs to treat specific spine pathologies. However, MSCs have significant limitations for conducting basic studies or developing therapeutic agents. Although EVs are an emerging research topic, no studies have focused on EVs, especially exosomes, from EF and EF-MSCs. Methods: In this study, we isolated the exosomes using the tangential flow filtration (TFF) system with exosome-depleted fetal bovine serum and performed the characterization tests via western blotting, reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction, nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), and transmission electron microscopy. Results: In transmission electron microscopy, the exosome had a diameter of approximately 100–200 nm and had a spherical shape, whereas in the NTA, the exosome had an average diameter of 142.8 nm with a concentration of 1.27×1010 particles/mL. The flow cytometry analysis showed the expression of CD63 and CD81. The western blotting analysis showed the positive markers. Conclusions: These findings showed that isolating the exosomes via TFF resulted in high-quality EF-MSC exosome yield. Further studies with exosomes from EF-MSC are needed to evaluate the function and role of the EF tissue.

Background: We evaluated the prevalence of gastroesophageal refi ux diseases (GERD) in noncardiac chest pain (NCCP) patients, risk factors for GERD, and status of prescriptions for GERD in Korean population. Methods: This was a retrospective non-interventional observational nation-wide multicenter (45 centers) study. Patients who had a normal coronary angiogram (CAG) and upper gastroendoscopy within 2 years after CAG were enrolled. The prevalence of GERD among them was examined. Other gastrointestinal diseases including peptic ulcer diseases or gastritis were also examined. We compared the risk factors for GERD between the GERD group and non-GERD group. The ratio of patients who had a medications for gastrointestinal diseases (antacids or proton-pump inhibitor) was also examined. Results: Total of nine hundred four patients were enrolled. The prevalence of GERD among NCCP patients was 436(48. 2%) of 904 patients. Peptic ulcer disease were present in 154 patients, 17. 0%. The prevalence of gastritis was 659(72. 9%) of 904 patients. There was no difference in risk factors for GERD between GERD group and non- GERD group. Medications for GERD and other gastrointestinal diseases were prescribed in 742 patients, 82. 1% of all the NCCP patients. Conclusions: GERD were common (42. 8%) in Korean NCCP patients and most of them (82. 1%) were prescribed for GI medications in Korea. But we could not fi nd any differences in risk factors between GERD and non-GERD groups.
The Effect of $H^+$ on Reduction of $[Co(NH_3)_4(C_2O_4)]^+$ with $[Fe(H_2O)_6]^{2+}$
Lim, Joo-Sang,Lee, Jae-Weon,Kang, Seung-Gu,Park, Byung-Kak Korean Chemical Society 1990 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.11 No.4
Kinetic studies were carried out for the redox reaction of $[Co(NH_3)_4(C_2O_4)]^+$ with aqueous $[Fe(H_2O)_6]^{2+}$ solution in the present of $H^+$ by UV/VIS-spectrophotometric method. It was found that the order of $H^+$ for the reaction is first one in the higher $H^+$ concentration range of $1.67×10^{-1} M{\sim}1.00 M,$ while second order in the lower range of $6.30×10^{-2} M{\sim}1.67{\times}10^{-1} M.$ Reaction order of the substrates was found to be first order with respect to each of them. Accordingly overall reactions are third or fourth order. The results of calculation for the Extended Huckel Molecular Orbital theory contribute to estimate the preferred intermediates, bridging form of binuclear complex. On the basis of these results, we propose that this redox reaction proceed via inner-sphere reaction mechanism.

In this study, the effect of daily short-distance walking exercise on milk production and metabolic status of the lactating dairy cows was investigated. The experiment was conducted with 10 lactating dairy cows comprising 2 groups (5 dairy cows/group), which were walking activity and non-walking activity. The walking activity (WA) group lactating dairy cows walked outdoors for 1 km/d, and the non-walking activity (non-WA) lactating dairy cows were maintained within a cowshed from $18^{th}$ April to $30^{th}$ May. The activity volume of the neck was not significantly different between the groups, but the activity volume of the leg was higher in WA group compared with non-WA (p<0.05). The rectal temperature was higher in the WA group ($38.6^{\circ}C$) compared with non-WA ($38.2^{\circ}C$) (p<0.05). No significant differences in dietary NE intake, milk production and milk composition were found between the groups. The plasma cortisol concentration was higher in WA group ($2.14{\mu}g/dl$) compared to non-WA ($0.95{\mu}g/dl$) (p<0.05). However, plasma cortisol level of WA dairy cows was significantly decreased as compared with non-WA cows. On the contrary, the level of plasma melatonin was increased in WA cows than that of non-WA dairy cows. It may be interpreted as a change in physical fitness. From this study, we suggest that walking activity can be improved energy balance. Further investigation is needed to determine whether different combinations of distance, rate or doing in morning or afternoon will stimulate energy balance.
