        The cricuit of QRI(Quasi-Resonant Inverter) which is able to regulate frequency in the output voltage by the ZVS(Zero Volt Switching) was investigated. We found parameters in the circuit of QRI so that they have application to the HID(High Intensity Discharge) Lamp drive. Then we simulated that by personal computer and summarized the result of simulation.

        Corynebacterium of hoffmannii is a part of normal pharyngeal flora. Human infection caused by C. hofmannii is very rare. All reported cases involve prosthetic or native cardiac valve. This patient sufered from chronic alcohlism, diabetes mellitus, and acute suppurative inflammation of brain, meninges and soft tissue. And he failed to show any clinical response to various antimicrobial therapy and died after discharge.

        초등교원양성대학의 교육서비스품질과 학생만족도 및 충성도의 구조적 관계

        본 연구는 초등교원양성대학의 교육서비스품질과 학생만족도 및 충성도의 구조적관계를 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 모집단으로는 현재 전국교육대학교에 재학 중인 학생들을 선정하였고, 이 중 서울과 강원도, 충청도에 소재한 A대학교, B대학교, C 대학교 학생들을 2017년 6월 5일부터 23일까지 약 3주간 표본 집단으로 설정하여 연구를 진행하였다. 연구의 수행을 위해 설문지를 측정도구로써 사용하였으며, 총 234명의 자료를 분석하여 가설을 검증하였다. 자료 처리에는 Windows용 PASW 18.0과 AMOS 20.0 프로그램을 이용하였으며, 빈도분석, 신뢰도 분석, 확인적 요인분석, 상관관계분석, 구조방정식 모형분석을 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육서비스품질은 학생만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교육서비스품질은 학생충성도에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 학생만족도는 학생충성도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 교육서비스품질과 학생충성도 사이에서 학생만족도는 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. The current study was aimed to investigate the structural relationships among educational service quality, satisfaction, and loyalty. Data were drawn from 234 students in three different universities. PASW 18.0 for windows and AMOS 20.0 program were used for data processing. Data were analyzed using frequency analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling techniques. The results were as follows. First, educational service quality had a positive effect on satisfaction. Second, educational service quality did not affect loyalty. Third, satisfaction had a positive effect on loyalty. Lastly, satisfaction fully mediated the relationship between educational service quality and loyalty.

      • Reliability modeling of demand response considering uncertainty of customer behavior

        Demand response (DR) has been considered as a generation alternative to improve the reliability indices of the system and load point. However, when the demand resources scheduled in the DR market fail to result in demand reductions, it can potentially bring new problems associated with maintaining a reliable supply. In this paper, a reliability model of the demand resource is constructed considering customers' behaviors in the same form as conventional generation units, where the availability and unavailability are associated with the simple two-state model. The reliability model is generalized by a multi-state model. In the integrated power market with DR, market players provide the demand reduction and generation, which are represented by an equivalent multi-state demand response and generation, respectively. The reliability indices of the system and load point are evaluated using the optimal power flow by minimizing the summation of load curtailments with various constraints.

        Obstacle Awareness and Collision Avoidance Radar Sensor System for Smart UAV

        In this paper, the critical requirement for obstacle awareness and avoidance is assessed with the compliance of the equivalent level of safety regulation, and then the collision avoidance sensor system is presented with the key design parameters for the requirement of the smart unmanned aerial vehicle in low-altitude flight. Based on the assessment of various sensors, small-sized radar sensor is selected for the suitable candidate due to the real-time range and range-rate acquisition capability of the stationary and moving aircraft even under all-weather environments. Through the performance analysis for the system requirement, the conceptual design result of radar sensor model is proposed with the range detection probability and collision avoidance mode is established based on the time-to-collision, which is analyzed by collision scenario.

      • Gating of NMDA receptor-mediated hippocampal spike timing-dependent potentiation by mGluR5

        <P>Hippocampal long-term potentiation (LTP) is believed to be important for learning and memory. Experimentally, the pairing of precisely timed pre- and postsynaptic spikes within a time window of ∼10 ms can induce timing-dependent LTP (tLTP), but the requirements for induction of tLTP change with development: in young rodents single postsynaptic spikes are sufficient to induce tLTP, whereas postsynaptic burst firing appears to be required in the adult. However, hippocampal neurons <I>in vivo</I> show theta-modulated single spike activities also in older hippocampus. Here we investigated the conditions for single spike pairing to induce tLTP at older CA3–CA1 synapses. We found that the pairing of single pre- and postsynaptic spikes could induce tLTP in older hippocampus when the postsynaptic neuronal membrane was depolarized and the pairing frequency exceeded ∼4 Hz. The spike frequency requirement is postsynaptic, as tLTP could still be induced with presynaptic stimulation at 1 Hz as long as the postsynaptic spike frequency exceeded ∼4 Hz, suggesting that postsynaptic theta-frequency activity is required for the successful induction of tLTP at older CA3–CA1 synapses. The induction of tLTP was blocked by an NMDA receptor antagonist and by the selective mGluR5 blockers, MPEP and MTEP, whereas activation of mGluR1 and mGluR5 by DHPG relieved the postsynaptic spike frequency requirement for tLTP induction. These results suggest that activation of mGluR5 during single-spike pairing at older CA3–CA1 synapses gates NMDA receptor-dependent tLTP.</P>

      • M-type potassium conductance controls the emergence of neural phase codes: a combined experimental and neuron modelling study

        <P>Rate and phase codes are believed to be important in neural information processing. Hippocampal place cells provide a good example where both coding schemes coexist during spatial information processing. Spike rate increases in the place field, whereas spike phase precesses relative to the ongoing theta oscillation. However, what intrinsic mechanism allows for a single neuron to generate spike output patterns that contain both neural codes is unknown. Using dynamic clamp, we simulate an <I>in vivo</I>-like subthreshold dynamics of place cells to <I>in vitro</I> CA1 pyramidal neurons to establish an <I>in vitro</I> model of spike phase precession. Using this <I>in vitro</I> model, we show that membrane potential oscillation (MPO) dynamics is important in the emergence of spike phase codes: blocking the slowly activating, non-inactivating K<SUP>+</SUP> current (<I>I</I><SUB>M</SUB>), which is known to control subthreshold MPO, disrupts MPO and abolishes spike phase precession. We verify the importance of adaptive <I>I</I><SUB>M</SUB> in the generation of phase codes using both an adaptive integrate-and-fire and a Hodgkin–Huxley (HH) neuron model. Especially, using the HH model, we further show that it is the perisomatically located <I>I</I><SUB>M</SUB> with slow activation kinetics that is crucial for the generation of phase codes. These results suggest an important functional role of <I>I</I><SUB>M</SUB> in single neuron computation, where <I>I</I><SUB>M</SUB> serves as an intrinsic mechanism allowing for dual rate and phase coding in single neurons.</P>

        Development of system design and seismic performance evaluation for reactor pool working platform of a research reactor

        The reactor pool working platform (RPWP) has been newly designed for an open-tank-in-pool type research reactor, and its seismic response, structural integrity, serviceability, and seismic margin have been evaluated during and after seismic events in this paper. The main important concept of the RPWP is to minimize the pool top radiation level by physically covering the reactor pool of the open-tank-in-pool type research reactor and suppressing the rise of flow induced by the primary cooling system. It is also to provide easy handling of the irradiated objects under the pool water by providing guide tubes and refueling cover to make the radioisotopes irradiated and protect the reactor structure assembly. For this concept, the new three dimensional design model of the RPWP is established for manufacturing, installation and operation, and the analytical model is developed to analyze the seismic performance. Since it is submerged under and influenced by water, the hydrodynamic effect is taken into account by using the hydrodynamic added mass method. To investigate the dynamic characteristics of the RPWP, a modal analysis of the developed analytical model is performed. To evaluate the structural integrity and serviceability of the RPWP, the response spectrum analysis and response time history analysis have been performed under the static load and the seismic load of a safe shutdown earthquake (SSE). Their stresses are analyzed for the structural integrity. The possibility of an impact between the RPWP and the most adjacent structure is investigated for the serviceability. The analysis results show that the maximum stress values of the base frame, guide tubes and refueling cover of the RPWP under the seismic event are within the specified code limits. It is confirmed that an impact does not take place under a seismic event. Also, the seismic margin of the RPWP is studied, and the seismic limit to sustain the structural integrity and serviceability is attained based on the deterministic and probability methods. Lastly, the hydrodynamic effect on the seismic performance of the RPWP is quantitatively investigated and from the result, an objective basis of the consideration of the hydrodynamic influence is acquired. Therefore, it is concluded that the newly devised RPWP is safely designed in that no damage to the structural integrity and serviceability, and a sufficient seismic margin is expected.
