      • Hypoxia-Responsive MicroRNA-101 Promotes Angiogenesis <i>via</i> Heme Oxygenase-1/Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Axis by Targeting Cullin 3

        <P>Aims: Hypoxia induces expression of various genes and microRNAs (miRs) that regulate angiogenesis and vascular function. In this study, we investigated a new functional role of new hypoxia-responsive miR-101 in angiogenesis and its underlying mechanism for regulating heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression. Results: We found that hypoxia induced miR-101, which binds to the 3 ' untranslated region of cullin 3 (Cul3) and stabilizes nuclear factor erythroid-derived 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) via inhibition of the proteasomal degradation pathway. miR-101 overexpression promoted Nrf2 nuclear accumulation, which was accompanied with increases in HO-1 induction, VEGF expression, and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS)-derived nitric oxide (NO) production. The elevated NO-induced S-nitrosylation of Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 and subsequent induction of Nrf2-dependent HO-1 lead to further elevation of VEGF production via a positive feedback loop between the Nrf2/HO-1 and VEGF/eNOS axes. Moreover, miR-101 promoted angiogenic signals and angiogenesis both in vitro and in vivo, and these events were attenuated by inhibiting the biological activity of HO-1, VEGF, or eNOS. Moreover, these effects were also observed in aortic rings from HO-1(+/-) and eNOS(-/-) mice. Local overexpression of miR-101 improved therapeutic angiogenesis and perfusion recovery in the ischemic mouse hindlimb, whereas antagomiR-101 diminished regional blood flow. Innovation: Hypoxia-responsive miR-101 stimulates angiogenesis by activating the HO-1/VEGF/eNOS axis via Cul3 targeting. Thus, miR-101 is a novel angiomir. Conclusion: Our results provide new mechanistic insights into a functional role of miR-101 as a potential therapeutic target in angiogenesis and vascular remodeling. Antioxid.         사례보고 : 하수오 복용 후 발생한 재발성 독성 간염 1예

        Toxic hepatitis has been reported as a major cause of acute hepatitis, but its potential induction by herbal remedies and/or health foods is usually neglected. We experienced a case of toxic hepatitis associated with Polygoni multiflori, a Chinese herb commonly known as Ho-Shou-Wu. A 54-year-old woman consumed Ho-Shou-Wu for 1 month, after which she experienced fatigue and overall weakness. A diagnosis of toxic hepatitis was made based on her clinical history, the findings for viral markers and other laboratory data, and ultrasonography. Her condition improved considerably after she stopped taking Ho-Shou-Wu. However, she resumed taking Ho-Shou-Wu immediately after discharge from hospital, which aggravated her symptoms and liver function. She was immediately readmitted and stopped taking Ho-Shou-Wu. Her relapse into hepatitis immediate after resuming consumption of the herb is strongly indicative of the validity of Koch`s postulate in this case.

      • 폐광산폐수의 소택지 처리를 위한 석회석의 화학적 전처리

        This study was carried out to investigate chemical pretreatment using lime and limestone for wetland treatment of an abandoned mine drainage. If treating the abandoned mine drainage with lime, after 2 hrs, removal efficiencies of SO_(4)^(2-), Fe, Al, Pb and Mn were 5.7, 63, 57, 45 and 28%, respectively. It was estimated that lime dosage was 2,000mg/L for increasing to pH 7. If treating the abandoned mine drainage with limestone, after 2 hrs, pH was increased to 3.67, and removal efficiencies of SO_(4)^(2-), Fe, Al, Pb and Mn were 4.7, 26, 22, 18 and 8%, respectively. It could be showed that limestone did slowly react with temperature increase. If treating the abandoned mine drainage in anaerobic limestone packing column, for experimental periods, pH was average 4.51, and removal efficiencies of SO_(4)^(2-), Fe, Al, Pb and Mn were average 4.5, 15.3, 20.1 23.7 and 5.87%, respectively. Therefore, limestone would not be suitable for the abandoned mine drainage. But the abandoned mine drainage could be stablily treated in wetland, after it passed through limestone packing column, becuase it was strong acid.

      • 보행속도에 따른 운동형상학적 특성

        Kinematic characteristics at different speeds of walking are important to understand the basic mechanisms of locomotion. Fourteen men with no history of neuromusculoskeletal disorder were studied with three dimensional motion analysis system during walking with 5 different speeds (57.11-99.09m/min). Time parameters, distance parameters, and kinematic analysis of ankles, knees, hips, and pelvis on sagittal, coronal, and transverse planes were compared with each other on different walking speeds. It is found that increasing walking speed 1. increased stride length and stride length raio, but decreased the step length and step length ratio. 2. increased the angle of ankle, knee & hip joint on sagittal plane during early and late stance period, due to the greater forces at heel-strike and toe-off. 3. did not change the kinematic characteristics of ankle, knee & hip joints on 3 planes during the swing phase. The result of this study can be usefully utilized as the basic data to design and evaluate prosthetic devices, and to detect abnormal gait performances.

        The purpose of the study was to investigate the differences of physical fitness and heart rate between the Taiji taming and non-training. The subject consist of experimental group(n= 10) and control group(n=10). and The age of subject was 17 to 19. The conclusions were as follows: 1. In case of group strength, there was no significant between experimental group(45.73±5.29kg) and control group(37.13±8.30kg). And with the mean of back strength, there was no significant between experimental group(160.33±25.14kg) and control group(106.00±33.77kg). 2. In case of on muscle endurance with armflag test and sit-up test, armflag test was significant between experimental group(50.33±3.78) and control group(42.66±5.03). And sit-up test was no significant between experimental group(44.66±2.88) and control group(41.33±1.52). 3. In case of on agility with side-step test, there was no significant between experimental group(37.33±3.05) and control group(33.00±2.00) 4. In case of on balance, there was significant between experimental group(78.66±60.92sec.) and control group(28.66±25.02sec.). 5. In case of on power, there was significant between experimental group(67.66± 8.08cm) and control group(48.76±4.04cm). 6. In case of on flexibility, there was significant between experimental group(23.70±5.10cm) and control group(15.80± 3.73cm). 7. In case of on change of rest HR, maximal HR, 3min aftert exercise, rest HR was no significant between experimental group(78.33±19.29beats/min) and control group(79.33±7.02beats/min). and maximal HR was no significant between experimental group(193.66±9.29beats/min) and control group(184.66±4.16beats/min), 3min after exercise was no significant between experimental group(110.33±16.44beats/min) and control group(117.33±18.58beats/min).

      • 水稻의 生育時期에 따른 잎 損傷이 收量에 미치는 影響

        本 硏究는 水稻의 葉身損傷 時期및 程度가 收量과 玄米中의 無構質 含量에 미치는 影響을 究明하기 위하여 1985年 4月부터 1985年 10月동안에 걸쳐서 葉身損傷 時期를 8月2日, 8月12日, 8月22日로 하고 損傷程度는 止葉을 포함한 上位4枚의 葉을 完全切葉, 半切葉, 半折返으로 水稻의 收量 玄米의 無構質 含量을 調査한 것으로서 그 結果를 要約하면 다음과 같다. 1. 登熟比率과 精玄比率은 葉身의 處理時期가 늦을수록 높았고 損傷程度에서는 공히 半折返區에서 高度의 有意性이 認定되었다. 2. 玄米重量및 正租收量은 處理時期가 늦은 半折返區에서 가장 높았다. 3. 秕重과 重層未은 處理時期와 損傷程度間에 高度의 有意性이 認定되었지만 稈長, 穗長, 穗數, 粒數 및 玄米千粒重에서는 有意性이 認定되지 않았다. 4. 玄米의 無構質 含量은 T-N K_2O는 完全切葉區에서 半切葉區, 半折返區보다 약간 높았고 P_2O_5 CaO MgO SiO_2는 공히 半切葉區에서 完全切葉區와 半折返區보다 높았다. 處理時期로는 T-N性分은 時期가 가장늦은 8月22日區에서 약간 높았고 P_2O_5 CaO MgO K_2O는 공히 處理時期가 가장 빠른 8月 2日區에서 많았다. SiO_2만은 8月 12日區에서 多少 높았다. This experiment was conducted to find out the degree and time of leafblade in jury of rice affects on yield and quality of rice grain. The investigation was complied from April, 1985 to October, 1985. To investigate the yield of rice and quality of rice grain. The leaves were injured by the three Types of treatments like full cutting, half cutting and bending the each 4 leaves locatea in the top portion of rice including flag leaf at three different time August 2, August 12 and August 22. According to the analysis of the date collected in this experiment, the main result obtained was a follows; 1. The later the treatment, the more the percent of ripeness and the percentage of hulled and unhulled rice increased. And the degree of injury showed high significance in bending plot. 2. Brown rice weight and winnowed rice yield showed the highest rate in late treatment of bending plot. 3. Empty grains weight and rice screenings weight showed high significance between the treatment time and degree of injury but not in culm length, panicle length, panicle number per plant, number of grains per spikelet and brown rice 1,000 grain weight. 4. The result of an analysis of the quality of rice grain showed that full cutting plot produced greater quantity than half cutting plot and bending plot in the content of T-N, K_2O. But in the content of p_2O_5, CaO, MgO, SiO_2, half cutting plot showed greater quantity than full cutting plot and bending plot. On the other hand as for the treatment time the ingredient of the T-N showed a little higher rate in the plot of August 22 with latest treatment time. But the ingredient of the P_2O_5, CaO, MgC, K_2O showed high rate in the plot of August 2 with the earliest treatment time. But only SiO_2 showed a little higher rate in the plot of August 12.

      • 슬러리 돈사폐수의 특성

        In this study, we surveyed pollutant concentrations of wastewater from slurry type piggery. Pollutant concentrations in each season showed very different aspect by sampling time and were in high level. Pollutant concentrations in slurry type piggery wastewater were higher than in scrapper type piggery wastewater. Most of heavy metal concentrations was lower than threshold concentrations for biological treatment, so it was estimated that microoganism would not be impeded by the heavy metals when they were removed as the biological method. As we investigated generation unit of slurry type piggery wastewater in each season, each numerical value was 6.5 in the spring, 7.1 in the summer, 6.5 in the fall and 5.8 L/head·day in the winter. From these we could see that while in the summer the unit records the highest value, the amount in the winter was the lowest and the same numerical value in both summer and fall. Discharge loading of slurry type piggery wastewater in each season was SS 586.6, BOD 92.5, CODcr 219.2, T-N 24.0 and T-P 4.0 g/head·day. But discharge loading of SS was higher by a factor of 1.65 than discharge loading that ministry of environment exhibited, whereas numerical value for other items was lower, for example CODcr.

        The aim of this research is that investigate the influence of communication to job performance. This research is based on the question which conduce a questionnaire survey of 250 workers in sports centers in Seoul. But, it except 39 in sincere papers. this research use the way of Cronbach and it indicate the degree of trust - in communication 0.8538, in job performance .08288 We use the program named SPSS WIN 11.0 on analysis of data and we use various ways t-test, One-way ANOVA, Scheffe's verification after the fact, Analysis of recurrence, and so on then we can get these three results below. first, the communication of sports centers workers on personal speciality is different on every facts(sex, age, education, position, length of service) second, the job performance of sports centers workers on personal speciality is different on every facts,(sex, age, education, position, length of service) third, in the communication types of workers sports center, upper, down, and horizontal, communication have influence on job performance passively.

        팜유와 대두유가 유과 바탕의 품질과 저장성에 미치는 영향

        The shelf0life of Yugwa(Busuge)is very short because of the low oxidative stability of soybean oil which is conventionally used as the frying oil of Yugwa base with porous structures. To identify the possibility of replacing soybean oil with palm oil whose oxidative stability is high. POV(peroxide value). AV(acid value), colorness(L, a and b), hardness and sensory characteristics during storage of the Yugwa base fried with the soybean oil and palm oil stored in the anaerobic packaging or the aerobic packaging at 10 and 30℃ for 75 days were measured. POV and AV of the Yugwa base fried with palm oil were significantly lower than those of Yugwa fried with the soybean oil. Hardness and colorness were not different each other and, sensory evaluation was slightly higher than that fried with soybean oil. Lipid absorption amount was not significantly different between the Yugwa base fried with palm oil and the one fried with soybean oil.

        Since we are in the transitory era from the age of industrialization to the age of information, it is necessary to accomplish an effective localization of the information. Accordingly, the college tries to construct the bi-directional Communication Local Network so that we can provide the local design companies with technical information and that we can achieve the characterization of the college and its differentiation from the local colleges, which will help us produce the better professionals and eventually provide us the foothold that will make the college a heralding force of the national development and the localization of the information. With the CLN research center, the college can play a key role in providing the necessary information and technologies for the design-related companies in Kyeongsangbuk Province and become a corner stone for the localization of the information and the information-oriented nation.
