Development of a Foot Pressure Distribution Measuring Device for Lower Limb Rehabilitaion
Choi, Junghyeon,Seo, Jaeyong,Park, Jun Mo The Korea Institute of Convergence Signal Processi 2017 융합신호처리학회 논문지 (JISPS) Vol.18 No.1
It is important to train lower limb muscle strength using a tilting table to recover the lower extremity function of hemiplegia patients. It is known that the foot deformity and poor posture of hemiplegia patients can reduce the effectiveness of lower limb rehabilitation training. In this study, we developed a sensor system that can measure the foot pressure distribution of the patients for the load control of the lower extremity during lower limb rehabilitation training and it can be substituted for conventional high-cost technologies.
An Intelligent Ankle Stretching Device for Rehabilitation Patients
Junghyeon Choi,Jongman Cho,Taewoo Nam,Junho Park,Inseon Park-Ko 대한전자공학회 2007 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2007 No.7
This paper describes a rehabilitation device developed for replacement of a conventional wooden wedge type ankle stretching device (ASD). This device consists of two inclinometer sensors and microcontroller-controlled electro-mechanical actuators. A conventional ASD has been used for lower limb rehabilitation treatment for training of monoplegia (hemiplegia) patients for a long time. The developed ASD device can control automatically the angle between foot and calf (AFC), holding time and number of repetition, and has four training modes. It consists of an embedded controller unit (ECU), a display unit and an actuator unit. The ECU consists of two clinometers, a 12-bit serial ADC, microcontroller, RS-232 serial interface with the display unit and the actuator unit consists of electro-mechanical actuators. It can reduce the workload of physical therapists and improve the effect of rehabilitation exercise for lower limb monoplegia patients.

Oral or rectal sodium phosphate(NaP) preparation is commonly used for the colonic cleansing. Since the sole route of excretion of absorbed phosphate is renal, diminished renal function will limit the ability to excrete a sudden phosphate load. To date, about 20 adult cases of hyerphosphatemia associated with oral or rectal sodium phosphate solution have been reported, but not a single case in Korea to our knowledge. We report two cases of hyperphosphatemia and hypocalcemia after the administration of NaP(Colclean^(ⓡ)) to reemphasizes the potential hazard of sodium phosphate bowel preparation in patients with compromised renal function.
Vol.2022 No.2
Imrpovement of Training Effect for a Tilt Table with Visual Feedback Function
Jongman Cho,Junghyeon Choi,Taewoo Nam,Junho Park,Inseon Park-Ko 대한전자공학회 2007 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2007 No.7
In the previous study we have developed an electrical actuator-driven type tilt table for the patients who had to lie down for long period of time. This kind of patients are needed to exercise to maintain up-right standing position and recover their muscle power of paralytic leg. We improved its functionallity so that it can provide a patient with visual feedback of exercise to increase the effect of rehabilitation. This could be possible by measuring and displaying the knee bent angle and pressure for each foot during exercise in real time. It is expected that the patient’s exercising effect can increase by self-monitoring these two values during exercise.
