Chemokine Signaling Pathway Involved in CCL2 Expression in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis

        Lin Zhang,Changyi Li,Min Yu,Jiayin Deng,Xing Lv,Jun Liu,Yu Xiao,Wenjie Yang,Yuru Zhang 연세대학교의과대학 2015 Yonsei medical journal Vol.56 No.4

Purpose: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory joint disorder, the progressionof which leads to the destruction of cartilage and bone. Chemokines are involvedin RA pathogenesis. In this study, we investigated the chemokine signaling pathway associated with CCL2 in peripheral blood (PB) and synovial tissues (ST) of RA patients based on our previous work about chemokine signaling pathway involvedin the activation of CCL2 production in collagen-induced arthritis rat ST. Materials and Methods: Total RNA was isolated from PB leukocytes and synoviumof the knee joint in both RA patients and control populations. Real-time polymerasechain reaction was used to determine CCL4, CCR5, c-Jun, c-Fos, and CCL2 expressions. Serum level of CCL2 was assessed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the production of CCL2 in ST was analyzed immunohistochemically. Results: The expressions of CCL4, CCR5, c-Jun, c-Fos, and CCL2 messenger RNA in RA patients were significantly higher than those in healthy controls, both in ST and on PB leukocyte. Serum CCL2 levels were elevated in RA patients. Histological examination of rheumatoid joints revealed extensive CCL2 expression in RA ST. Conclusion: CCL2, CCL4, c-Jun, c-Fos, and CCR5 may play an important role in the recruitment of PB leukocytes into the RA joints. These data provide evidence that the chemokine signaling pathway is involved in CCL2 expression in RA patient tissues, which may contribute to chronic inflammation associated with RA. Targetingthis signaling pathway may provide a novel therapeutic avenue in RA.

SiOx interlayer to enhance the performance of InGaZnO-TFT with AlOx gate insulator

        Jun Li,Fan Zhou,Hua-Ping Lin,Wen-Qing Zhu,Jianhua Zhang,Xue-Yin Jiang,Zhi-Lin Zhang 한국물리학회 2012 Current Applied Physics Vol.12 No.5

We have fabricated indium-gallium-zinc (IGZO) thin film transistor (TFT) using SiOx interlayer modified aluminum oxide (AlOx) film as the gate insulator and investigated their electrical characteristics and bias voltage stress. Compared with IGZO-TFT with AlOx insulator, IGZO-TFT with AlOx/SiOx insulator shows superior performance and better bias stability. The saturation mobility increases from 5.6 cm2/V s to 7.8 cm2/V s, the threshold voltage downshifts from 9.5 V to 3.3 V, and the contact resistance reduces from 132 Ucm to 91 Ucm. The performance improvement is attributed to the following reasons: (1) the introduction of SiOx interlayer improves the insulator surface properties and leads to the high quality IGZO film and low trap density of IGZO/insulator interface. (2) The better interface between the channel and S/D electrodes is favorable to reduce the contact resistance of IGZO-TFT.

Suppression of bias stress-induced degradation of pentacene-TFT using MoOx interlayer

        Jun Li,Hua-Ping Lin,Fang Zhou,Wen-Qing Zhu,Xue-Yin Jiang,Zhi-Lin Zhang 한국물리학회 2012 Current Applied Physics Vol.12 No.1

The bias stress effect in pentacene thin-film transistors (TFTs) with and without MoOx interlayer was characterized. The device without MoOx interlayer showed a large threshold voltage shift of 5.1 V after stressing with a constant gate-source voltage of 40 V for 10000 s, while at the same condition, the device with MoOx interlayer showed a low threshold voltage shift of 1.9 V. The results can be attributed to the stable interface between MoOx/pentacene and small contact resistance change for the device with MoOx/Cu electrode. Pentacene-TFTs with MoOx interlayer showed a high field-effect mobility of 0.61 cm2/V s and excellent bias stability, which could be a significant step toward the commercialization of OTFT technology.

Many-to-One Encryption and Authentication Scheme and Its Application

Lin, Xi-Jun,Wu, Chuan-Kun,Liu, Feng The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2008 Journal of communications and networks Vol.10 No.1

This paper is to study a subclass of group-oriented cryptographic scheme: Many-to-one encryption and authentication scheme. The many-to-one encryption and authentication scheme is to solve a practical problem, i.e., the scenario that the number of the receivers is very small compared with the number of the senders and a receiver may serve millions of senders. Compared with the traditional methods, the burdens of the receiver and the KGC are reduced greatly. How to revoke a sender from his receiver's legitimate sender group is also proposed and it is efficient compared with some traditional methods. The proposed scheme is proven in the random oracle models. The computational complexity of our scheme is independent of the number of the senders. At the end of the paper, an example is given to show how to use our scheme in online software registration and update.

Effects of stiffening rings on the dynamic properties of hyperboloidal cooling towers

        Jun-Feng Zhang,Huai Chen,Yao-Jun Ge,Lin Zhao,Shi-Tang Ke 국제구조공학회 2014 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.49 No.5

As hyperboloidal cooling towers (HCTs) growing larger and slender, they become more sensitive to gust wind. To improve the dynamic properties of HCTs and to improve the wind resistance capability, stiffening rings have been studied and applied. Although there have been some findings, the influence mechanism of stiffening rings on the dynamic properties is still not fully understood. Based on some fundamental perceptions on the dynamic properties of HCTs and free ring structures, a concept named “participation degree” of stiffening rings was proposed and the influence mechanism on the dynamic properties was illustrated. The “participation degree” is determined by the modal deform amplitude and latitude wave number of stiffening rings. Larger modal deform amplitude and more latitude waves can both result in higher participation degree and more improvement to eigenfrequencies. Also, this concept can explain and associate the pre-existing independent findings.

      • Study of V/Q Non-Linearity in Scientific CMOS Sensor

Jun-Lin Li,Yong-Fei Guo,Tai-Ji Lan 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.9 No.6

Scientific CMOS sensor usually manifests V/Q non-linearity in charge-to-voltage conversion. Starting from the mechanism underlying this non-linearity, we build the V/Q non-linearity model to study the influence of modulation transfer function (MTF) and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Meanwhile, simulation verification is carried out. The results show that V/Q non-linearity improves SNR but causes the decrease of MTF of the electronic device. We propose the combination of video response curve with photo response non-uniformity (PRNU) noise curve to locate V/Q non-linearity. The validity of this method is proved by simulation verification and physical experiment. The present study provides reference for design optimization and compensation for non-linearity in scientific CMOS sensor.

Mathematical explanation on the POD applications for wind pressure fields with or without mean value components

        Jun-Feng Zhang,Yao-Jun Ge,Lin Zhao,Huai Chen 한국풍공학회 2016 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.23 No.4

The influence mechanism of mean value components, noted as P0, on POD applications for complete random fields PC(t) and fluctuating random fields PF(t) are illustrated mathematically. The critical philosophy of the illustration is introduction of a new matrix, defined as the correlation function matrix of P0, which connect the correlation function matrix of PC(t) and PF(t), and their POD results. Then, POD analyses for several different wind pressure fields were presented comparatively as validation. It's inevitable mathematically that the first eigenmode of PC(t) resembles the distribution of P0 and the first eigenvalue of PC(t) is close to the energy of P0, due to similarity of the correlation function matrixs of PC(t) and P0. However, the viewpoint is not rigorous mathematically that the first mode represents the mean pressure and the following modes represent the fluctuating pressure when PC(t) are employed in POD application. When PC(t) are employed, POD results of all modes would be distorted by the mean value components, and it's impossible to identify P0 and PF(t) separately. Consequently, characteristics of the fluctuating component, which is always the primary concern in wind pressure field analysis, can only be precisely identified with P0 excluded in POD.

Influence of latitude wind pressure distribution on the responses of hyperbolodial cooling tower shell

Jun-Feng Zhang,Yao-Jun Ge,Lin Zhao 한국풍공학회 2013 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.16 No.6

Interference effects are of considerable concern for group hyperboloidal cooling towers, but evaluation methods and results are different from each other because of the insufficient understanding on the structure behavior. Therefore, the mechanical performance of hyperboloidal cooling tower shell under wind loads was illustrated according to some basic properties drawn from horizontal rings and cantilever beams. The hyperboloidal cooling tower shell can be regarded as the coupling of horizontal rings and meridian cantilever beams, and this perception is beneficial for understanding the mechanical performance under wind loads. Afterwards, the mean external latitude wind pressure distribution, CP(θ), was artificially adjusted to pursue the relationship between different CP(θ) and wind-induced responses. It was found that the maximum responses in hyperboloidal cooling tower shell are primarily dominated by the non-uniformity of CP(θ) but not the local pressure amplitude CP or overall resistance/drag coefficient CD. In all the internal forces, the maximum amplitude of meridian axial tension shows remarkable sensitivity to the variation of CP(θ) and it’s also the controlling force in structure design, so it was selected as an indicator to evaluate the influence of CP(θ) on responses. Based on its sensitivity to different adjustment parameters of CP(θ), an comprehensive response influence factor, RIF, was deduced to assess the meridian axial tension for arbitrary CP(θ).

Improved photocatalytic performance of Pd-doped ZnO

        Jun bo Zhong,Jian zhang Li,Xi yang He,Jun Zeng,Yan Lu,Wei Hu,Kun Lin 한국물리학회 2012 Current Applied Physics Vol.12 No.3

ZnO and Pd-doped ZnO photocatalysts with different molar ratio of Pd/Zn (1/100, 2/100, 3/100 and 4/100) were prepared by a solegel method. The photocatalysts prepared were characterized by BET surface area, X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV/vis diffuse reflectance (DRS) and surface photovoltage spectroscopy (SPS), respectively. The results show that doping Pd into ZnO decreases the BET surface area. The XRD spectra of the Pd-doped ZnO catalysts calcined at 773 K show only the characteristic peaks of wurtzite-type. Doping Pd into ZnO increases the absorbance of ZnO in visible region and enhances the photoinduced charge separation rate. The photocatalytic activity of Pd-doped ZnO photocatalysts for decolorization of methyl orange (MO) solution was evaluated, of all the photocatalysts prepared, the Pddoped ZnO with 3/100 possesses the best photocatalytic activity. The results of further experiments show that increased adsorption ability of light and high separation rate of photoinduced charge carriers all play an important role in promotion of photocatalytic activity of Pd-doped ZnO nanostructure.
