        Rabson Mendenhall syndrome의 치험 증례 : A CASE REPORT

        Rabson Mendenhall syndrome은 Rabson과 Mendenhall에 의해 1955년 처음 발표된 증후군으로서, 심한 insulin resistance를 보이는 희귀한 상염색체 열성 유전성 질환이다. Insulin receptor의 돌연변이나 insulin이 작용하는 다른 target cell의 결함에 의해 나타나며, 일반적인 증상으로는 흑색가시세포종(acanthosis nigricans), 다모증(hypertrichosis), 손발톱 비대 (onychauxis), 성장 지체 (growth retardation), 성 조숙(precocious puberty), 생식기의 비대, 팽만된 복부(protuberant abdomen), 건성 피부(xerotic skin) 등이 나타난다. 악안면 영역에서는 치아의 이형성, 거친 얼굴의 피부, 하악 전돌, 균열 혀 (fissured tongue)와 같은 특징적 증상이 나타난다. 이에 본 증례에서는 Rabson Mendenhall syndrome으로 본원에 내원한 4세 환아에게 관찰된 치과적 특징들에 관하여 보고하는 바이다. Rabson-Mendenhall syndrome(RMS) is first characterized in 1955 by Rabson and btendenhall. RMS is a rare autosomal recessive variant with insulin resistance. This is due to insulin receptor mutations or other target-cell defects in insulin action. General findings include acanthosis nigricans, hypertrichosis, onychauxis, growth retardation, precocious puberty genital enlargement, protuberant abdomen and xerotic skin. Characteristic oral and maxillofacial findings include dental dysplasia, coarse facial skin, prognathic jaw and fissured tongue. In this case report, dental characteristics of a 4-year old boy with Rabson-Mendenhall syndrome are described.

        Anti-fungal materials producing bacteria were isolated from soil by bennett's agar and actinomycete isolation agar medium. The bacteria were identified as synonym of Actinomycetes. Based on the data obtained from its morphological and colony characteristics. The medium for production of anti-fungal materials was YEME (yeast extract 4g, malt extract 10g, glucose 4g, D.W 1l, pH 7.0±0.2). The culture conditions were 30℃, 7 days and 200 rpm in shaking incubator. No.13, No.15 and No.28 strains were produced anti-fungal materials against fungal plant pathogens. Specially, The No. 28 strain showed a powerful biopesticide activity and broad spectrum effects of anti-fungal materials on Collectrichum coccodes, Botrytis cinerea, Ciadosporium cucumerinum, Didvmella bryoniae,.

      • PCA와 ANN을 이용한 VOC 측정기기 개발

        Air quality monitoring is a primary activity for industrial and social environment. The government identifies the pollutants that each industry must monitor. Especially, the VOCs(Volatile Organic Compounds), which are very harmful to human body and environment atmosphere, should be controlled under the government policy. However, the VOCs, which have not been confirmed in emission sources are very difficult to monitor. It is needed to develop the monitoring system that allow the continuous and in situ measurement of VOCs mixture in different environmental matrices. Gas chromatography and mass spectrometry are the most prevalent current techniques among those available for the analysis of VOCs. But, they need a large size analytical instrument, which costs a great deal for purchase and operation. In addition, it has some limitations for real time environmental monitoring such as location problems and slow processing time. Recently, several companies have commercialized a portable VOCs measurement systems, which cannot classify various kinds of VOCs but total quantities. We have developed a VOCs measurement system, which recognizes various kinds and quantities of VOCs, such as benzene, toluene, and xylene(BTX). Also, it can be used as a stand-alone type and/or fixed type in the vehicle with rack for real-time environmental monitoring.

        유치열기 정상교합아동의 측모두부방사선 계측연구

        본 연구의 목적은 유치열기 부정교합의 진단자료로 사용할 수 있는 정상 계측치를 알아보는 것이다. 4세에서 6세 사이 유치열기 정상교합아동 32명의 측모두부방사선 계측사진 및 안모사진을 이용하여 악골 및 연조직의 전후방적, 수직적 관계를 분석하였다. 수평적인 골격성 계측항목 중 SNA는 83°,SNB는 78.72°,ANB는 5.28°를 나타내어 하악골이 상악골에 비해 후방에 위치하고 있었으며 수직적인 골격성 계측항목 중 Gonial angle은 127°를 나타내어 성인에 비하여 High angle pattern을 보였다. 연조직 분석에서는 성인에 비해 convex한 soft tissue profile이 관찰되었다. 치성 계측항목 중 U1 to SN은 91.04°, IMPA는 86.57°를 나타내어 성인에 비해 reteroclination된 상하악 유중절치가 관찰되었다. 정상교합아동의 골격성분석에서 여자가 남자에 비하여 평균 나이가 많음에도 불구하고 linear measurement는 전제적으로 남자가 여자보다 큰 수치를 보였다. The present study was designed to formulate cephalometric norms of normal occlusion for usage in orthodontic diagnosis of malocclusion in Korean children. Thirty two children, aged 4 to 6. with normal occlusion were chosen for this study. Sagittal and vertical relations were analyzed using lateral cephapogram and clinical photos and the measurements were compared with those of adults. On skeletal sagittal analysis, the mean values of the SNA and SNB angles were 83°and 78.72°. It showed that the mandible was retrognathic and retropositioned in comparison to those angle pattern in children and reduction of gonial angle due to counterclockwise rotation of the mandible. On dental analysis. the mean values of the U1 to SN and IMPA were 91.04° and 86.57°, This showed retroclined upper and lower deciduous teeth in comparison to adults. For values. the linear values were generally greater in males than females.

Especially, we designed sensor array with various kinds of gas sensor and ANN(Artificial Neural Network) algorithm. The measured values for BTX have errors of 1~4ppm.

      • 고감도 다공질 실리콘 수광 다이오드의 제조 및 특성

        A porous silicon-based photodiode has been fabricated by selective anodization of Si wafer and deposition of ITO(Indium Tin Oxide) as a transparent electrode. PECVD silicon nitride was deposited for the passivation of the device. The fabricated photodiode shows a very high photo-responsivity of 0.73A/W at 800nm wave length and a rise time of about 8ns at 100Ω load resistance. In order to find out the electrical conduction mechanism in the photodiode, metal/porous silicon Schottky diodes have also been fabricated. Their I-V characteristics are similar to those of p-i-n diodes and amorphous silicon diodes, unlike those of conventional Schottky diodes.

        One of the promising methods to enhance the flexural strength of a externally prestressed girder is to place the tendons with large eccentricities. The analysis and design of composite girders prestressed by external tendons involve difficulties related mainly to the position of anchorages and the construction sequences. This study was conducted on the concrete bridges reinforced by the continuous girders and the external prestressing. The test results in this study showed that the external prestressing of a composite girder increased the range of the elastic behavior, reduced deflections, increased ultimate strength, and added to the redundancy by providing the multiple stress paths.

      • Si Bulk Micromachining을 위한 Wafer Rolling Etching 및 그 특성

        A wafer rolling etching system for the silicon bulk micromachining has been designed and fabricated. The silicon diaphragms were anisotropically etched in a 24.5 weight percent KOH solution. Compared to the conventional KOH etching systems, pyramidal hillocks, and wave-shaped structures on the etched surfaces were greatly reduced by using this system. After etching for time of 438 minutes, the average etched depth and the etch-rate were measured to be 537μm and 1.22μm/min, respectively. The average etching uniformity of etching depth was 0.87% in 5-inch wafer. Our results showed that the wafer rolling method enhanced etch uniformity and etch rate.

        Transcallosal Ipsilateral Motor Pathway from the Unaffected Hemisphere in a Patient with Traumatic Brain Injury

        Purpose: We presented with a patient with traumatic brain injury who showed a transcallosal ipsilateral motor pathway from unaffected motor cortex to affected extremities, as evaluated by diffusion tensor tractography (DTT). Methods: One patient and six age-matched normal subjects were enrolled. A 42-year-old left hemiparetic male who suffered from brain injury by motor vehicle accident 9 years ago showed a leukomalactic lesion in the right corona radiata and parieto-temporal lobe. His left extremities were completely paralyzed initially, but recovered slowly over 2 years. At the time of the evaluation, he was able to grasp and release an object, and to walk with spastic gait pattern. DTT was performed using 1.5 T with a Synergy-L Sensitivity Encoding head coil. DTT was obtained with termination criteria of FA <0.2 and an angle change > $45^{\circ}c$. Results: The motor tracts of the unaffected (left) hemisphere of the patient and control subjects originated from the motor cortex and descended along the known corticospinal tract without any transcallosal tract. By contrast, the tract of the affected (right) hemisphere originated from the left premotor cortex, descended through the left corona radiata, and then crossed the mid-portion of the corpus callosum. The tract then descended through the known corticospinal tract pathway to the right medulla. Conclusion: We conclude that the transcallosal ipsilateral motor pathway from the unaffected hemisphere appeared to contribute to the motor recovery in this patient.
