        An Application of OLAP/GIS-Fuzzy AHP-TOPSIS Methodology for Decision Making: Location Selection for Landfill of Industrial Wastes as a Case Study

        The location selection for Landfill of Industrial Wastes (LIW) is a very significant task in waste management studies, which has significant impacts on sustainable development of the region. Furthermore, the selection of the appropriate and efficient sites for LIWs is an important multi-criteria decision making problem. The present document suggests an OLAP/GIS-Fuzzy AHP-TOPSIS based methodology for evaluation and selection of best sites for LIWs. In this respect, the candidate locations are specified based on the combination of On-Line Analytical Processing and Geographic Information System (OLAP/GIS). The Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy-AHP), a multi-criteria decision-making method is applied to analyze the structure of the problem and obtain the weights of the qualitative and quantitative criteria, by incorporating the uncertainty values in decision-making. Then, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is taken into account to assess and rank the alternative locations. Finally, a hypothetical application of the proposed approach is illustrated by a case study of location selection for LIWs in Morocco. The results show that the proposed methodology can successfully achieve the aim of this work.

        A Load-Balancing Approach Using an Improved Simulated Annealing Algorithm

        Cloud computing is an emerging technology based on the concept of enabling data access from anywhere, atany time, from any platform. The exponential growth of cloud users has resulted in the emergence of multipleissues, such as the workload imbalance between the virtual machines (VMs) of data centers in a cloudenvironment greatly impacting its overall performance. Our axis of research is the load balancing of a datacenter’s VMs. It aims at reducing the degree of a load’s imbalance between those VMs so that a better resourceutilization will be provided, thus ensuring a greater quality of service. Our article focuses on two phases tobalance the workload between the VMs. The first step will be the determination of the threshold of each VMbefore it can be considered overloaded. The second step will be a task allocation to the VMs by relying on animproved and faster version of the meta-heuristic “simulated annealing (SA)”. We mainly focused on theacceptance probability of the SA, as, by modifying the content of the acceptance probability, we could ensurethat the SA was able to offer a smart task distribution between the VMs in fewer loops than a classical usageof the SA.

        Cloud computing, also known as "country as you go", is used to turn any computer into a dematerialized architecture in which users can access different services. In addition to the daily evolution of stakeholders' number and beneficiaries, the imbalance between the virtual machines of data centers in a cloud environment impacts the performance as it decreases the hardware resources and the software's profitability. Our axis of research is the load balancing between a data center's virtual machines. It is used for reducing the degree of load imbalance between those machines in order to solve the problems caused by this technological evolution and ensure a greater quality of service. Our article focuses on two main phases: the pre-classification of tasks, according to the requested resources; and the classification of tasks into levels ('odd levels' or 'even levels') in ascending order based on the meta-heuristic "Bat-algorithm". The task allocation is based on levels provided by the bat-algorithm and through our mathematical functions, and we will divide our system into a number of virtual machines with nearly equal performance. Otherwise, we suggest different classes of virtual machines, but the condition is that each class should contain machines with similar characteristics compared to the existing binary search scheme.

        Comparative analysis and physio-biochemical screening of an ex-situ fig ( Ficus carica L.) collection

        Fig ( Ficus carica L.) is an important natural source of bioactive compounds in the health-promoting Mediterranean diet. However, there are no established studies investigating antioxidant compounds and their variability in fi gs grown in Moroccanorchards based on biochemical attributes. In this study, 135 local fi g clones and foreign varieties were screened for theirtotal phenolics, fl avonoids, anthocyanins, proanthocyanidins, soluble sugars, titrable acidity, total soluble solids, and skincolor (L*, c*, and hue°). Radical scavenging activity was determined using DPPH, ABTS, and β-carotene blanching tests. All analyses revealed signifi cant variations among genotypes. High concentrations of total phenolics and anthocyaninswere found in dark fi gs that showed the highest antioxidant capacity. Total anthocyanins ranged from 0.41 to 57.47 mg cy-3-rutinoside/100g dw , which is likey the major contributor to radical scavenging activity (RSA), particularly using the DPPHmethod (r = 0.342**). Based on principal component analysis, skin color coordinates, total fl avonoids, anthocyanins, andRSA using DPPH were the most discriminant variable explaining more than 31% of total variance. Unweighted pair-groupmethod of arithmetic average cluster analysis was used to classify genotypes based on their biochemical attributes. Twomajor clusters were discriminated based particularly on skin color and antioxidant activity.

      • Design of New Pseudo-Random Number Generator Based on Non-Uniform Cellular Automata

        The random numbers are needed in variety fields of applications in particular cryptography. They can be constructed by using several methods such as cellular Automata (CA). This later cannot produce a long random numbers sequence, supplementary the quality of random numbers depends especially on applied CA rules. For this reason, the modified binary particle swarm optimization (MBPSO) is used to discover a new rules set for CA. Rules of radius r=1 and periodic boundary conditions are considered for a non-uniform one-dimensional CA. Our contribution consists to combine this CA with MBPSO for satisfying the pseudo random number generator (PRNG) characteristics, called "PSOCA". Thus, different tests were applied to our PSOCA algorithm to prove its generated sequences quality, such as Diehard, Nist and other statistical tests, which have been successfully passed. Moreover, the comparison with other systems ensure the highlight randomness quality of our proposal system.

        웹크롤링과 텍스트마이닝을 활용한 국군간호사관학교와 간호장교 인식도 조사

        국군간호사관학교(국간사)는 한 때 폐교될 위기에 처한 적이 있다. 기업과 마찬가지로 군대내 부대나 조직도 정체성을 스스로 진단하고 그 필요성을 입증해 나가지 않으면 그 존폐를 장담할 수 없을지 모른다. 국간사의 폐교 위기 전후 국간사와 간호장교의 역할에 대해 군 내부적으로 진단하는 연구가 있었지만 군 외부에서 바라보는 시각에 대한 연구가 없었기 때문에 정확한 진단을 하는 것이 제한되었다. 실제로 군 외부에서 국민들이 바라보는 시각에 대한 분석은 군의 신뢰도를 분석하는데 밀접한 관련이 있고 이러한 군의 신뢰도는 군의 무형적인 전투력인 사기와 연관되고 전투나 전쟁의 승패에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 연구는 국민들이 국간사와 간호장교를 대상으로 온라인상에서 2011년부터 2020년까지 개진한 방대한 양의 데이터를 웹크롤링을 통해 수집하고 텍스트마이닝 기법으로 인식도를 분석하였다. 분석시 사용한 K-Means 클러스터링과 Doc2Vec 기법은 의견으로 제시된 단어를 벡터화하고 주변 단어들과의 관련성을 유지하면서 군집 형성을 수행하는 기법을 적용함으로서 군집별 의미론적 분석의 신뢰성을 보장하고 있다. 본 연구 기법은 국간사와 간호장교를 군 외부에서 바라보는 인식을 텍스트마이닝의 토픽모델링 기법을 적용한 분석이라는 의의를 가지며 연구 결과 군 외부 인식이 긍정적임을 확인할 수 있다. The Korean Armed Forces Nursing Academy (KAFNA) once faced the possibility of being shut down. Just like enterprises, The survival of military units or organizations within the military cannot be guaranteed if they do not diagnose their identity and prove its necessity. On the other hand, an accurate diagnosis is limited because there has been no research on the roles of KAFNA and nursing officers from an external perspective before and after the crisis of the KAFNA closure. Indeed, analyzing external perspectives is closely related to analyzing the credibility of the military, and such credibility can have a significant effect on the outcome of battles or wars. This study used web-crawling and text-mining techniques to analyze a vast amount of data on KAFNA and nursing officers posted online from 2011 to 2020. The K-Means clustering and Doc2Vec techniques used in the analysis vectorize the words presented as opinions and perform clustering while maintaining the relevance with surrounding words, ensuring the reliability of semantic analysis by cluster. This research technique is the first text-mining technique to analyze the perception of KAFNA and nursing officers from an external perspective, and the study results show that the external perception is positive.

        Service Quality Perception and Customer Satisfaction in Islamic Banks of Oman

        Service quality of any institution is a pull factor for attracting and retaining the customer. The present study examines the customer satisfaction level toward the quality of service offered by the Islamic banks in Oman. It also aims to find out which dimension influences customer satisfaction more concerning the other dimension chosen for the study. To fulfil the need of the study, a structured questionnaire is distributed amongst 100 customers of Islamic banks. The random stratified sampling technique is used for the collection of the data. The collected data is analyzed using the correlation and the multiple linear regression techniques. The result of the study indicates that timely service provided by the banking personnel has a mean score of 4.57, bank staff readiness to serve the customer has a mean score of 4.36, and the security of the banking operation has a mean score of 4.37 occupies the highest rank in their respective dimension chosen for the study. The study reveals that all three dimensions of quality of service represented by Services Reliability, Services Responsiveness and Services Security have a positive and significant correlation with customer satisfaction. The regression results also indicate that all three dimensions influence customer satisfaction of the Islamic banks.

      • Customers’ Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivations in Mobile Advertising

        Based on the two theories brand equity and theory of reasoned action it has been statistically proven that customers intrinsic and extrinsic motivations lead to intention to buy and brand loyalty when viewing a mobile advertising. There are 5 factors that were tested to see if this is true. Based on the literature review these 5 consist of (1) personalization, (2) informative-ness, (3) social influence, (4) attractiveness, and (5) entertainment. The first 3 were tested in response to intention to buy and the last two were tested for brand loyalty. Based on previous research from the literature review there were about 50 questions that were asked in the survey that pertained to the 5 listed factors. By using the Likert scale along with demographics questions, we were able to come up with nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio questions when put into the SPSS system. From the results, there were 150 participants who responded to the survey via Qualtrics out of all the participants only 90 were tested who were Millennials. There were some interesting results that were gathered we found that males have a more favorable attitude towards advertising such as finding the ads more enjoyable and humorous. This was also found to be true in Wolin (2016) article that is a part of our literature review. However, this study discovered that women purchase more than men when it comes too mobile advertising.
