원통형 형상의 연료 그레인을 적용한 하이브리드 추진 시스템에서 연료포트 초기 직경에 따른 연소특성을 고찰하였다. 산화제에 따라 달라지는 연료포트 직경에 따른 연소특성 변화를 알아보고자 산화제로는 GOX와 GN2O를 적용하였고, 고체연료로는 PE를 적용해 실험을 수행하였다. 동일 산화제 유량에서 산화제와 상관없이 고체연료의 초기 포트직경이 커짐에 따라 연소량이 감소함을 확인했고, 산화제로 GN2O를 적용한 경우가 산화제로 GOX를 적용한 경우보다 연료포트 초기 직경에 따른 연소량 차이가 줄어듦을 확인하였다. Combustion Characteristic with initial port-diameter of fuel was studied in hybrid propulsion system using cylindrical single port-grain. In order to understand a variation of combustion characteristic with initial port-diameter, experimental studies were performed with the GOX and GN2O as oxidizer, and PE as fuel. As results, burning rate decreased with increase of initial port-diameter of fuel. And the variation of burning rate with using GN2O is smaller than using GOX.

This noise sensitivity analysis provides insights about noise parameters and it is very beneficial for making appropriate design trade-offs. From this work, the circuit designer can choose the adequate noise parameters tolerances.

A design approach for optimizing the performance of low-noise amplifiers is introduced. Figure of merit of LNAs which is composed of signal power gain, noise factor, and power consumption is used for evaluating the overall performance. Each factor is anayltically expressed in device parametes. By using this method, FoM of LNAs are maximized prior to the fabrication of circuits.

<P>In this paper, design consideration of the cascode configuration in low-noise amplifiers (LNA) using 0.13-μm CMOS technology is presented. Performance factors of LNAs such as signal power gain, noise factor, and power consumption are analytically expressed in device parameters from its small-signal equivalent circuit. The effect of the common-gate transistor in each performance factor is evaluated at the target frequency of 17-GHz ISM band. At this frequency, power gain and noise factor are degraded, which result from the common-gate transistor. Figure of merit of LNAs is also optimized. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. <P>A low supply voltage and highly linear subthreshold CMOS low noise amplifier (LNA) for 2.4 GHz wireless sensor network applications is presented in this letter. We applied multiple gated transistor (MGTR) technique in subthreshold region to compensate the linearity degradation of low supply cascode topology. Moreover, the feedback capacitor, C<SUB>f</SUB> is used to enhance the power gain of amplifier without additional dc-power dissipation. The proposed LNA has gain of 13.1 dB, noise figure (NF) of 3.8 dB, and −2.5 dBm IIP3 while dissipating only 0.49 mW from 0.7 V supply. The LNA has been designed using a 0.13 μm 1P8M standard CMOS process with top metal thickness of 3.3 μm. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 비연소성 다이아프램을 장착한 하이브리드 연소기에서 후퇴율 및 연소효율 특성에 관한 연소 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과 다이아프램을 장착한 경우 후퇴율 및 연소효율이 증가하였으며, 연료포트 직경과 다이아프램 내경의 단차가 클수록 후퇴율 및 연소효율이 증가하였다. 또한 다이아프램으로 인한 연소율 변화를 표현할 수 있는 후퇴율 관계식을 제안하였다. The hybrid combustion experiments using non-combustible diaphragm were performed for characteristic of regression rate and combustion efficiency. Results of experiments using diaphragm were showed that the regression rate and efficiency were increased. In addition, the larger difference between fuel grain port and diaphragm port increase the regression rate and efficiency. The modified regression rate equation was proposed with the port area ratio of fuel and diaphragm.

<P>This letter presents the implementation technique to reduce circuit area in designing 2.4 GHz CMOS low-noise amplifier (LNA) using size efficient inductors. We applied a vertically shunt (M6/M5) and a 3-D helical inductor to input and output matching network to obtain low noise figure and to save silicon area, simultaneously. Because these inductors have smaller area occupation, overall Si area was reduced. Moreover, the feedback capacitor, C<SUB>f</SUB> is used to compensate the gain degradation from the high resistive 3-D helical inductor at the LNA output stage. The proposed LNA has a gain of 12.5 dB, noise figure (NF) of 2.72 dB, and −5 dBm IIP3, whereas dissipating 5.3 mA from 1.5 V supply. Without any degradation in terms of circuit performance, the size of proposed LNA is reduced by 49.5% compared with that using the conventional asymmetric inductors. For low cost, the LNA has been fabricated using a 0.18 μm mixed-signal CMOS process with top metal thickness of 0.84 μm. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
