Ohm’s law is a fundamental paradigm in the electrical transport of metals. Any transport signatures violating Ohm’s law would give an indisputable fingerprint for a novel metallic state. Here, we uncover the breakdown of Ohm’s law owing to a topological structure of the chiral anomaly in the Weyl metal phase. We observe nonlinear I–V characteristics in Bi0.96Sb0.04 single crystals in the diffusive limit, which occurs only for a magnetic-field-aligned electric field (E∥B). The Boltzmann transport theory with the charge pumping effect reveals the topological-in-origin nonlinear conductivity, and it leads to a universal scaling function of the longitudinal magnetoconductivity, which completely describes our experimental results. As a hallmark of Weyl metals, the nonlinear conductivity provides a venue for nonlinear electronics, optical applications, and the development of a topological Fermi-liquid theory beyond the Landau Fermi-liquid theory.

Medical tourism in Korea has been rapidly grown for last couple of years, based on exclusive support from Korean government. About 60,000 foreign patients received medial services in 2009, an initial stage of entering medical tourism business, and the number of foreign patients received medical services in Korea hiked to more than 266 thousands in 2014, which is showing 34.7% of annual average increase between 2009 and 2014. Diversification of target markets and service areas contributed on this remarkable growth. This paper describes current status of medical tourism in Korea as well as various supports from government for the growth of medical tourism. In addition, the paper presents approaches for brand marketing, by utilizing 7Ps, the marketing mix (a.k.a. service mix), in order to increase awareness and competitiveness of medical services of Korea in global market.

<P>Eco-friendly solution-processed oxide thin-film transistors (TFTs) were fabricated through photocatalytic reaction of titanium dioxide (PRT). The titanium dioxide (TiO2) surface reacts with H2O under ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation and generates hydroxyl radicals (OH•). These hydroxyl radicals accelerate the decomposition of large organic compounds such as 2-methoxyethanol (2ME; one of the representative solvents for solution-processed metal oxides), creating smaller organic molecular structures compared with 2ME. The decomposed small organic materials have low molar masses and low boiling points, which help improving electrical properties via diminishing defect sites in oxide channel layers and fabricating low-temperature solution-processed oxide TFTs. As a result, the field-effect mobility improved from 4.29 to 10.24 cm2/V·s for IGZO TFTs and from 2.78 to 7.82 cm2/V·s for IZO TFTs, and the <I>V</I>th shift caused by positive bias stress and negative bias illumination stress over 1000 s under 5700 lux decreased from 6.2 to 2.9 V and from 15.3 to 2.8 V, respectively. In theory, TiO2 has a permanent photocatalytic reaction; as such, hydroxyl radicals are generated continuously under UV irradiation, improving the electrical characteristics of solution-processed IZO TFTs even after four iterations of TiO2 recycling in this study. Thus, the PRT method provides an eco-friendly approach for high-performance solution-processed oxide TFTs.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

Periplasmic terephthalic acid binding protein (TBP) from Ideonella sakaiensis (IsTBP) is a periplasmic protein that imports TPA to the cytoplasm interacting with the TTT-transport system. In this study, we overexpressed IsTBP and purified the protein to homogeneity by Ni-NTA affinity and size-exclusion chromatography. The IsTBP protein was crystallized using hanging-drop vapor-diffusion method in the presence of 20% PEG3350 and 0.2 M Ammonium iodide at 20°C. X-ray diffraction data were collected to a maximum resolution of 1.02 Å. The IsTBP crystals belonged to the space group P21 with unit cell parameters a = 46.2 Å, b = 54.1 Å, c = 50.6 Å. With one molecule of IsTBP per asymmetric unit, the crystal volume per unit of protein mass was 2.32 Å3 Da–1, which corresponds to a solvent content was approximately 47.00%.
