Enhanced Heuristic Algorithms K-LAG-V and K-LAG-S for the Constrained Via Minimization Problem
Daisuke Takafuji,Toshimasa Watanabe,Yuji Suga 대한전자공학회 2008 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2008 No.7
CVM requires finding any layer assignment of wire-segments, whose topology has already been given, so that the total number of vias may be minimized. A given topology of wire-segments is called an initial wiring layout. Let kCVM denote CVM in which k layers are available for routing. In this paper, only rectilinear routing is considered. The subject of the paper is to propose heuristic algorithms K-LAG-V and K-LAG-S that are enhanced versions of K-LAG. Based on experimental results, it is shown that they are promising ones for solving kCVM with k ∈ {4, 12}.

Low head hydropower is one of realistic renewable energies. The Darrieus-type hydro turbine with an inlet nozzle is available for such low head conditions because of its simple structure with easy maintenance. Experimental and numerical studies are carried out in order to examine the effects of gap distances between the runner pitch circle and two edges of inlet nozzle on turbine performances. By selecting narrower gaps of left and right edges, the performance could be improved. From the results of two dimensional numerical simulations, the relation between the performance and flow behaviors around the Darrieus blade are discussed to obtain the guideline of appropriate inlet nozzle design.

A two dimensional Darrieus-type turbine has been proposed for the hydropower utilization of extra-low head less than 2m. In a practical use of Darrieus-type hydro-turbine, head and flow rate may be varied temporally and seasonally. Considering that the cost advantage is required for the low head hydro turbine system, the Darrieus turbine should be operated with high efficiency in the wider range of flow rate possibly by using an additional device with simpler mechanism. In the present paper, an adjustment of inlet nozzle section by lowering the inlet nozzle height is proposed to obtain the preferable inlet velocity in low flow rate conditions. Effects of resulting spanwise partial inlet flow are investigated. Finally, an effective modification of inlet nozzle height over flow rate variation is shown.
Pricing Illiquidity of Corporate Bonds through Static and Dynamic Measures
Daisuke Miyakawa,Shuji Watanabe 서울대학교 경제연구소 2012 Seoul journal of economics Vol.25 No.3
This paper studies the price impact of corporate bond illiquidity. Through dynamic panel estimation, price dispersion and resiliency, which have been used separately in extant studies, are simultaneously considered to price illiquidity. We find that the dynamic model, which has both measures, fits better than the static model that incorporates only price dispersion. We also confirm that the impact of the two measures systematically react to credit ratings of bonds. These results imply the importance of considering multiple measures to price illiquidity.

The effect of lubricant oil on the single-phase heat transfer of R245fa inside horizontal smooth and microfin tubes was experimentally investigated. Tests were conducted using a horizontal smooth tube with an inner diameter of 8.32 mm and two microfin tubes with equivalent diameters of 8.9 and 8.7 mm, fin height of 0.12 and 0.18 mm, and number of fins of 65 and 85, respectively. The heat transfer coefficients were measured for pure R245fa and R245fa + lubricant oil mixture in the Reynolds number range of 2000–10000, heat fluxes of 5 and 10 kWm −2, and refrigerant temperatures of 30∘C and 45∘C at the test section inlet. Oil concentration was varied at 1, 2 and 5 wt.%. The results showed that the heat transfer of pure R245fa agreed well with previous correlations. However, the heat transfer coefficients of the R245fa + lubricant oil mixtures were lower than those of the pure R245fa, and decreased with an increase in oil concentration for both smooth and microfin tubes. The reduction in heat transfer was more marked for the HF tube than for the smooth and LF tubes. For the HF tube, the decrease in heat transfer was apparently more pronounced at higher oil concentrations from 2 to 5 wt.% owing to immiscibility between the oil and refrigerant.

Resistance Switching in View of Electron Hole Dynamics in Ferroelectric Related Oxides
Yukio Watanabe,Daisuke Matusmoto,Mizuki Yamato,Shigeru Kaku 한국물리학회 2007 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.51 No.2I
An examination of typical switching experiments shows that the performances of the resistance switching in transition-metal oxides vary widely and depend on the details of each experiment. Conventional defect mechanisms, such as oxygen vacancies, work in some experiments. However, by comparing the macroscopic and the nanometer-scale characteristics and switching, we show here that other experiments indicate the possible existence of a more intrinsic physically new mechanism.VISITOR=Gzm-G
Significantly high polarization degree of the very low-albedo asteroid (152679) 1998 KU2
Kuroda, Daisuke,Ishiguro, Masateru,Watanabe, Makoto,Hasegawa, Sunao,Sekiguchi, Tomohiko,Naito, Hiroyuki,Usui, Fumihiko,Imai, Masataka,Sato, Mitsuteru,Kuramoto, Kiyoshi EDP Sciences 2018 Astronomy and astrophysics Vol.611 No.-
<P>We present a unique and significant polarimetric result regarding the near-Earth asteroid (152679) 1998 KU2, which has a very low geometric albedo. From our observations, we find that the linear polarization degrees of 1998 KU2 are 44.6 ± 0.5% in the <I>R</I>C band and 44.0 ± 0.6% in the <I>V</I> band at a solar phase angle of 81.0°. These values are the highest of any known airless body in the solar system (i.e., high-polarization comets, asteroids, and planetary satellites) at similar phase angles. This polarimetric observation is not only the first for primitive asteroids at large phase angles, but also for low-albedo (<0.1) airless bodies. Based on spectroscopic similarities and polarimetric measurements of materials that have been sorted by size in previous studies, we conjecture that 1998 KU2 has a highly microporous regolith structure comprising nano-sized carbon grains on the surface.</P>
