        This study was performed to evaluate the threshold limit values(TLVs) exceeding rates and periodical changes based on the results from work environmental measurement for 40 factories applied health service program, located in Cheonnan area, from 1995 to 1997. The obtained results were as follows; 1. The hazaed frequency in environmental monitoring were noise(865, 34.4%), illumination(804, 31.9%), dust(205, 8.1%), organic solvent(371, 14.7%), lead(114, 4.5%), and specific chemicals(31, 1.2%), heavy metal(127, 5.0%) in order. 2. The order of TLVs exceeding rate of hazardous agents by type of industries were cement-related manufacture(42.3%), fiber industry(40.0%), food stuff industry(24.3%), metal work industry(21.8%), electronics manufacture (9.9%), other industries(10.2%), chemical industry(7.9%). 3. The mean exceeding rates of hazard by type of industry were 29.5% in noise, 27.3% in dust, 25.8% in specific chemicals, 10.2% in solvent and 7.9% in lead, but none in heavy metal. 4. The average of standardized values of noise divided by TLV were decreased in food stuff industries and chemical industries, but not changed in fiber and cement-related industries. While, the average of standardized values of organic solvents divided by TLVs were decreased in electronic manufacturing industries and other industries.

      • 납 폭로 근로자에서 δ-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase 유전형질이 zinc protoporphyrin 및 δ-aminolevulinic acid에 미치는 영향

        The inhibition of δ-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase (ALAD) in the heme synthetic pathway results in increased protophoryphyrin (ZPP) and δ-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) and is responsible for some of toxicological effects of lead. This enzyme is coded by the ALAD gene containing 2 co-dominant alleles. The polymorphisms of ALAD gene may be related to differential effects of lead on ZPP and ALA, ALAD genotype was measured in 975 Korean male lead workers, of whom 897 were homozygous for ALAD1 (ALAD 1-1 genotype) and 96 were heterozygous for ALAD2 (ALAD 1-2 genotype). Blood lead in subjects with ALAD1 was significantly higher than those with ALAD2 (p = 0.01). No difference between ALAD genotypes was found for age, exposure duration, ZPP, ALA, hemoglobin, hematocrit, body mass index, tobacco and alcohol use. After adjustment for possible confounders, ALA and ZPP became significantly elevated in ALAD1 subjects (p = 0.004 and 0.055, respectively). This result suggests that ALAD1 subjects may be more susceptible to the hematotoxicologic effects of lead than ALAD2 subjects.

        The twin sisters case of folie simultanee is reported here in this paper. A case of folie simultanee is described as two or more people becoming psychotic simultaneously and sharing the same delusion. The results of psychodynamic approach for this case are as follows. 1. There are a variety of conflicting hypotheses on the orgin of the disorder, ranging from the etiological explanation of organic factor to various psychodynamic approach. In this case, there is no evidence of hereditary factor on the laboratory findings and family history. Therefore the authors stressed that the psychodynamic formulation of the disorder is on the importance .of the etiological rol. It seem significant to describe that the etiology is multidimensional and includes factors such as character structure formation in processing of object relations, the emotional relationship between the partners, socio-environmental conditions and hereditary predisposition. 2. There are two issues in folie simultanee. The one is related to diagnosis. It is consider to distinguish the inductor from the recipient. The other is subject to treatment. It is important to determine whether separate the inductor and recipient by admitting the inductor for a psychiatric center or not. Furthermore, the inductor and recipient's weak ego state should be recognized in planning various psychiatric treatments. 3. It could be found in the role reversal phenomenon between the inductor and recipient during long-term course.

      • NITINOL을 이용한 차동식 액츄에이터의 설계에 관한 연구

        In the recent years, as the research and the development of micro and precision machinery become active, the interest of micro actuators using SMA (Shape Memory Alloy) has been increased. The dynamic characteristic analysis of SMA is necessary for actuator application and many common researches report the material characteristics of SMA sufficiently. However, the research on dynamic characteristics is very deficient. In this paper, the helical spring are fabricated with NiTi SMA wire of high resistivity. The force, response speed, temperature, and displacement are measured by digital force gauge, infrared thermometer, and laser displacement sensor so that the dynamic characteristics of this SMA is analyzed. Also, bidirectional actuator was fabricated and experimented for its performance.

      • VOD 서비스에서의 새로운 스트림 할당 기법

        Generally, in a VOD(Video On Demand) systems, batching technique is often used to improve throughput. Since subscribers to VOD services tend to renege their requests as the latency becomes large, an optimal stream allocation scheme should consider not only batching size but also renege rate, service latency and fairness between different programs. In this paper, we propose a new stream allocation scheme, which shows improvement in fairness and reduction in renege rate and service latency compared with other well known schemes. When 2 or more streams are available in the VOD server, each streams are allocated based on different program selection policies. Using this approach effectiveness of stream usage can be improved.

      • Alcohol이 마우스 소뇌의 조롱박신경원의 미세구조에 미치는 영향

        Effects of acute exposure to alcohol on fine structures of cerebellar Purkinje cells were investigated with electron microscope. ICR mice were injected orally by 18ml/kg b.w. of ethanol, and 30 minutes,2 hours, 6 hours, 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days after administration, mite were sacrificed with perfusion fixation. Specimens of each group were obtained by routine electron microscopic tissue preparation and were observed with transmission electron microscope. Dilatation of cisternae of rough endoplasmic reticulum, multiplication and cisternal dilatation of smooth endoplasmic reticulum, morphologic changes and cisternal dilatation of Golgi complex, swelling of mitochondria, increase of lysosome were prominent findings in the groups of 30 minutes and 2 hours after alcohol administration. These findings were getting recovered with the lapse of time. The territorial regions of astrocytes were prominently extended, and the synaptic vesicles of auto-somatic synapses were reduced in all experimental groups. These findings were also recovered gradually with the lapse of time, but these observations even in the group of 7 days after alcohol administration were not completely similar to that of control group.

      • 업종에 따른 연 취급 사업장의 기중 연 농도 및 연 노출 수준 평가

        In order to obtain an useful information for health management and biological monitoring of lead exposed workers, Authors tried to investigate air lead level and the lead exposed level of workers in lead industry according to occupational category. The subjects in our study were 2074 workers in 7 lead-using industries, and study subjects were divided into 4 occupational categories such as storage battery industry (type 1), primary smelting industry (type 2), secondary smelting industry (type 3) and litharge making industry (type 4). Blood zincprotoporphyrin concentration (ZPP), blood lead concentration (PbB) and urinary δ -aminolevulinic acid (ALAU), hemoglobin (Hb), hematocrit (Hct) were selected as the indices of lead exposure. Personal variables such as age, work duration were also collected. The results were as follows. 1. The geometric mean air lead in 9 lead-using industry was 0.1133±4.3120 ㎎/㎥, and that in type 1, 2, 3 and 4 was 0.1038±3.4952 ㎎/㎥, 0.0429±3.4329 ㎎/㎥, 0.1877±2.5123 ㎎/㎥ and 0.9961±5.2910 ㎎/㎥, respectively. 2. The mean ZPP in 9 lead-using industry was 53.1±28.0 ㎍/㎗, and that in type 1, 2, 3 and 4 was 52.0±24.8 ㎍/㎗, 48.0±16.4 ㎍/㎗, 109.8±85.6 ㎍/㎗ and 74.3±37.8 ㎍/㎗, respectively. There was significant difference in ZPP according to occupational category (P<0.01). The percents of lead workers whose ZPP were above 100 ㎍/㎗ in type 1, 2, 3 and 4 were 4.0%, 1.7%, 34.3% and 21.6%, respectively. 3. The mean PbB in lead-using industry was 26.0±11.2 ㎍/㎗, and that in type 1, 2, 3 and 4 was 25.3±11.1 ㎍/㎗, 26.7±8.8 ㎍/㎗, 50.3±15.2 ㎍/㎗ and 36.4±11.0 ㎍/㎗, respectively. There was significant difference in PbB according to occupational category (P<0.01). The percents of lead workers whose PbB were above 40 ㎍/㎗ in type 1, 2, 3 and 4 were 10.4%, 7.7% 71.9% and 43.2%, respectively. 4. While the correlation of Hb corrected PbB with ZPP was higher than non corrected PbB, the correlation of log-transformed ZPP with PbB was higher than non corrected ZPP. 5. Simple linear regressions of PbB and corrected PbB as independent variable with ZPP, log-transformed ZPP and ALAU as dependent variable were statistically significant (P0.01). Coefficient of determination of corrected PbB with other variables was higher than non corrected PbB. As the result of this study, it was suggested that reconsideration of environmental and biological monitoring program was highly recommended for secondary smelting and litharge making industry.

      • CSVT법에 의해 증착시킨 CdS 박막의 전기적 특성

        CSVT법에 의해 증착시킨 CdS 박막의 전기적 특성 및 열전기 특성을 조사하기 위하여 시료의 X-선 회절, 직류 전기전도도, Hall 이동도 그리고 TSC를 측정하였다. 그 결과 CSVT 법에 의해 제작된 CdS 박막이 보통중착법에 의한 것에 비하여 결정성장이 향상되고 Hall 이동도가 크며 저항이 작다는 것을 알았다. 또한 TSC 측정결과, 광조사 조건에 따라 TSC 피크가 다르게 나타나며 이러한 피크 특성은 photochemical reaction model로서 설명될 수 있고, 그리고 제작조건이 다른 두 CdS 박막에서 나타나는 TSC 피크의 비교로부터 CSVT법에 의해 제작된 시료가 보통증착법에 의한 것보다 상온 이상에서의 photochemical reaction 효과 적음을 알 수 있다. To investigate electrical property and thermally stimulated current (TSC) for the CdS films which were grown by close-spaced vapor transport (CSVT), the measurements of X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), d.c. conductivity, Hall mobility and TSC were carried out. Form the result of the measurements, CSVT-CdS films are found to be better oriented and to be less resistive with better mobility as compared with the films evaporated by the conventional method. TSC spectra under illumination conditions show different TSC peaks. These can be explained by photochemical reaction model. The result suggests that the effect of photochemical reaction above room temperature is to be less than conventional evaporated films in the case of CSVT-CdS films.

        구개열에서 비인두강의 생리해부학적 구조와 과비음과의 연관성 연구

        비인강폐쇄란 연구개, 인두측벽 그리고 인두후벽간의 움직임이 서로 조화되어 구강과 비강을 나누어주는 괄약근 기전으로서 연하, 호흡, 발음 등의 생리적기능에 중요한 역할을 한다. 이 기능에 문제가 생긴 경우를 비인강폐쇄부전이라하며 그 원인으로는 (1) 연구개의 길이 및 움직임이상 (2) 비인두강의 해부학적 공간문제 (3) 인두 후벽과 측벽의 기능이상 등이 있다. 본 연구는 구개열 환자의 측면두부방사선계측사진을 통해 비인두강을 생리해부학적으로 분석하였으며 산출된 말소리의 과비음정도를 Nasometer로 평가하였다. 이로부터 얻은 정상군과 구개열환자군의 결과를 각각 비교하였으며, 비인강폐쇄부전과의 연관성을 알아보기 위하여 Anatomic VPI와 Nasalance score의 값을 비교분석하였다. 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같았다. 1. 측면두부방사선계측사진 결과, 연구개 길이, 연구개 두께, 비인강 깊이, 비인강 면적, Adequate ratio에서 두 그룹간 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 2. Nasometer 결과. 모음/오/와 구강공명음문장, 구강장해음문장에서 두 그룹 간 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 3. 구개열환자군에서 비인두강의 폐쇄부전 정도를 표현해주는 Anatomic VPI와 Nasalance score는 전반적으로 연관성이 없었다. 다만, 모음/이/와 일부 구강자음으로 이루어진 문장에서 다소의 상관성을 나타내었다. 결론적으로, 측면두부방사선계측사진과 Nasometer 각각의 검사결과에서 두 그룹간 유의한 차이를 찾아볼 수 있었으나, 구개열환자군내에서 비인강폐쇄부전을 표현하는 Anatomic VPI와 Nasalance score는 모음/이/와 구강자음을 포함한 문장을 제외하고는 전반적으로 연관성이 없었다. Velopharyngeal closure is a sphincter mechanism between the activities of the soft palate, lateral pharyngeal wall and the posterior pharyngeal wall, which divides the oral and nasal cavity. It participates in physiological activities such as swallowing, breathing and speech. It is called a velopharyngeal dysfunction when this mechanism malfunctions. The causes of this dysfunction are defects in (1) length, function, posture of the soft palate, (2) depth and width of the nasopharynx and (3) activity of the posterior and lateral pharyngeal wall. The purposes of this study are to analyze the nasopharynx of cleft palate patients using cephalometry and to evaluate the degree of hypernasality using nasometry to find its relationship with velopharyngeal dysfunction. The following results were obtained : 1. In cephalometry, there were significant differences in soft palate length, soft palate thickness, nasopharyngeal depth, nasopharyngeal area, and adequate ratio between two groups. 2. In nasometry, there were significant differences between two groups in vowel /o/ and sentences including oral consonants. 3. In cleft palate patients, though no general correlation was found between Anatomic VPI and nasalance scores, vowel /i/ and sentences including oral consonants were slightly correlated. In conclusion, cephalometry and nasometer results were significantly different between the two groups. Though in the cleft palate group. Anatomic VPI and nasalance scores, which are indices for velopharyngeal closure, excluding the vowel /i/ and sentences including oral consonants show generally no significance.
