        선내 재난상황 시 구조자 진입경로 탐색을 위한 유전 알고리즘 적용 방안

        In current evacuation methods, a crew member describes the physical location of a possible accident and guides the evacuation using alarms and emergency guide lights. However, in case of an accident in a large and complex building, a more intelligent and effective emergency evacuation system is required to ensure the safety of the evacuees. This is because the current schemes are unsuitable for dynamically changing emergencies due to the deficiency of real-time status information. Therefore, several studies have been conducted on intelligent path finding and emergency evacuation algorithms. In these studies, guidance methods are operated on a central control server based on real-time sensing data received from distributed sensor nodes. Another important aspect of evacuation is having effective rescue guidance in an emergency. However, there have been only a few studies for efficient rescue guidance schemes due to the high-level design of their framework. Therefore, this paper proposes a genetic algorithm-based emergency rescue guidance method using distributed wireless sensor networks that optimizes the path based on the received rescue resources. The performance evaluation through a computer simulation showed that the proposed scheme guarantees efficient path finding. 화재 등의 재난 상황 시 대피 경로를 안내하기 위해 대부분의 건물, 선박 등의 구조물에서는 중앙통제센터나 안전요원의 안내나 대피 경로 유도등을 통해 대피 경로를 안내하고 있다. 하지만 규모가 커지고 갈수록 내부 구조가 복잡해짐에 따라 재난 상황에 대한 실시간 정보가 부족하여 상황에 대한 효과적인 대응이 어려우므로, 비상 상황 시 안전을 보장할 수 있는 지능적 안내 시스템의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 따라서 분산적으로 배치된 센서들로부터 수집된 상황 데이터 정보에 기반하여 중앙서버에서 지능적으로 경로를 탐색하고 재난상황에서의 탈출을 유도하는 알고리즘이 제안되었다. 그러나 대피자의 효과적인 대피와 함께 중요한 부분이 구조자의 효율적인 구조활동이다. 현재까지 대피자의 대피 경로유도에 대한 연구는 다양하게 이루어져왔으나, 구조자의 효율적 진입 경로 탐색에 대한 연구는 기본적인 방안의 설계에그치고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 센서 네트워크 환경에서 유전 알고리즘을 적용한 구조자 진입 경로 탐색 방안과 구조자원 투입량의 최적화 방안에 대해 제안하였다. 제안된 방식의 실효성을 검증하기 위해 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 방식의 성능을 검증하였다.

        A Cross-layer Link Adaptive HD Video Transmission Scheme in WiMedia D-MAC based UWB Systems

        In this paper, we propose a QoS (Quality of Service)-aware and cooperative resource reservation scheme using cross-layer link adaptation for wireless high definition video transmission through UWB (Ultra Wide Band) network with D-MAC (Distributed Medium Access Control). A wireless high definition video transmission system usually requires stable high throughput even without line-of-sight, e.g., a destination device in another room separated by a wall. Since the WiMedia D-MAC supporting DRP (Distributed Reservation Protocol) scheme causes lots of DRP resource reservation conflicts due to failure of beacon detection in wireless channel environment, overall performances of the WiMedia D-MAC can be deteriorated. And the current WiMedia MAC standard has not considered QoS provisioning even though QoS parameters such as a range of service rates are provided to each traffic stream. Therefore, we propose Relay DRP protocol with QoS-based relay node selection criterion, which makes a relay path to avoid DRP resource reservation conflicts and guarantee QoS more stably through cross-layer link adaptation of cooperative relay transmission scheme and is compliant with the current WiMedia D-MAC protocol. Simulation results demonstrate performance improvements of the proposed method for throughput and QoS provisioning.

        Reservation Conflict-Free MAC Design for Mobile Wireless USB Devices with Distributed MAC

        In this paper, a collision-free resource reservation scheme for WUSB (Wireless Universal Serial Bus) networks with WiMedia D-MAC (Distributed Medium Access Control). Since distributed characteristic of the WiMedia D-MAC supporting DRP (Distributed Reservation Protocol) scheme may cause lots of conflicts, overall performances of the WUSB with WiMedia D-MAC can be deteriorated. In addition, when we consider multi-hop environment, "mobile" hidden node problem due to mobility of WUSB devices can be happened, and it is a critical problem to mobile WUSB devices transceiving real-time QoS (Quality of Service) traffic. To tackle the problem, we propose a new DRP reservation mechanism to prevent DRP conflicts for multi-hop mobility support in WUSB networks with WiMedia D-MAC and show its improved performance via simulation results.

        재난 상황 시 센서 네트워크 기반 구조자 진입 경로 탐색 방안

        재난 상황 시 대피 경로를 유도하기 위해 대부분의 건물 등의 구조물에서는 중앙통제센터나 안전요원의 안내 및 대피 경로 유도등을 통해 대피 경로를 안내하고 있다. 하지만 규모가 커지고 갈수록 내부 구조가 복잡해짐에 따라 비상 상황 시 안전을 보장할 수 있는 지능적 안내 시스템의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 따라서 경로 탐색 알고리즘에 기반한 지능적 대피경로 탐색 및 안내 시스템이 제안되었고, 구조물 내 설치된 센서 노드로부터 수집된 상황 정보를 기반으로 중앙 서버에서 각 위치별 최적의 경로를 제시하는 방식으로 대피 유도가 이루어졌다. 그러나 대피자의 효과적인 대피와 함께 중요한 부분이 구조자의 효율적인 구조활동이다. 현재까지 대피자의 대피 경로 유도에 대한 연구는 다양하게 이루어져왔으나, 구조자의 효율적 진입 경로 탐색에 대한 연구는 전무하였다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 센서 네트워크 환경에서 유전 알고리즘을 적용한 구조자 진입 경로 탐색 방안에 대해 제안하였다. 제안된 방식의 실효성을 검증하기 위해 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 방식의 성능을 검증하였고, 그 결과 작업량 기준의 적응도 평가 시 적응도가 일정 시간 내에 수렴되었으며, 각 출구별 이동하는 노드의 비율로 환산한 출구집중도 역시 최대값과 최소값 차이가 현저하게 감소하였다. However, another important aspect is effective rescue guidance in an emergency situation. So far, there has been no consideration on the efficient rescue guidance scheme. Therefore, this paper proposes the genetic algorithm based emergency rescue guidance method using distributed wireless sensor networks. Performance evaluation using a computer simulation shows that the proposed scheme guarantees efficient path finding. The fitness converges to the minimum value in reasonable time. The density of each exit node is remarkably decreased as well.

        OFDM-CDMA 시스템에서 부분병렬환을 이용한 PAPR 감쇄기법

        In this paper, an effective peak power reduction scheme for a downlink OFDM-CDMA system is proposed. Using the partial parallel transform(PPT) structure, peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) can be reduced. The patterns of inputs of Inverse Fast Fourier Transform(IFFT) are more randomized in this structure by allotting the subcarriers to each users. At the cost of complexity we can obtain reduced PAPR and multiple access interference(MA) Computer simulations are carried out from the viewpoint of PAPR and demonstrated the improved PAPR performance.

        Serial number classification-based energy-efficient transceiving scheme of warning messages in public warning system

        A public warning system (PWS) provides notification to all user equipment (UE) during specific emergency situations such as earthquakes or tsunamis through an earthquake and tsunami warning system or a commercial mobile alert service messages of 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) evolved-universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) systems. During an emergency, 3GPP E-UTRANs broadcast special system information blocks (SIBs) containing warning information and causes UE to decode the SIBs by sending paging message. When a UE decodes the SIBs, it must display the warning information on the screen. In such an emergency situation, energy-efficient operation is strongly required to provide users with public safety services for a sufficiently long time to ensure safety. However, current 3GPP E-UTRANs cannot guarantee the energy-efficient operation of UE to obtain public safety information. Therefore, this paper proposes an energy-efficient transceiving scheme using the serial number type of SIBs. Performance evaluation using computer simulation shows that the proposed scheme improves the energy efficiency of the operation in PWS services.

        Analysis of energy consumption on deferred transmission of LoRaWAN down-link frame for IoT in a ship

        As the data-driven management of ships is required, the demand for Internet of Things (IoT) technology to acquire and stably exchange in-ship data is increasing. When considering a wireless sensor network for IoT in a ship, a technology that reduces the energy consumption of distributed IoT devices and ensures stable communication coverage is important to acquire various in-ship data and guarantee the accuracy of the collected data. The long-range wide area network (LoRaWAN) protocol is a promising solution for IoT because it has a long communication range and supports a suitable bit rate for IoT applications. Energy-efficient operations must be confirmed for the LoRaWAN protocol to be applied to in-vessel IoT networking. Although the LoRaWAN protocol generally does not consume considerable energy, the energy-efficient operation of the end device is limited because of the low-complexity communi-cation scheme adopted in the LoRaWAN protocol. Therefore, this study analyzes the energy loss of a LoRaWAN end device owing to the operation of a LoRaWAN network server and discusses an alternative that complies with the LoRaWAN standard.
