Severe acute pancreatitis occurs in about 20% of patients with acute pancreatitis and can be associated with multiorgan failure. Acute renal failure caused by severe acute pancreatitis not only aggravates pancreatitis but also increases patient mortality. Peritoneal exudate contains many toxic substances such as amylase, lipase, phospholipase-A, trypsinogen, prostaglandins, kinin forming enzymes, and histamine releasing factor. Upon entering the circulation, these substances can cause complications, which are responsible for the majority of early deaths. This said, peritoneal dialysis is indicated to remove toxic materials from the peritoneal cavity and to manage acute renal failure. We report three acute peritoneal dialysis cases in acute renal failure associated with severe acute pancreatitis. OMC-2010 구성약재 배합추출물 투여가 Ovalbumin으로 유도한 마우스 알레르기성 기관지 천식에 미치는 영향

Objectives: We recently have reported that constituents of OMC-2010 have an immuno-modulatory effects via inhibiting tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha and interleukin (IL)-5. In this study, based on previous data, we investigated the effects of combinations with each OMC constituents on splenocyte cytotoxicity, cytokine productions, and ovalbumin (OVA) induced experimental allergic asthma. Methods: Mouse splenocytes were pre-treated with ethanol extract of constituents of Rehmannia glutinosa (RG), Pinellia ternata (PT), Schisandra chinensis (SC). We made 4 combinations using RG, PT, and SC (A;1:1:1, B;2:1:1, C;1:2:1, D;1:1:2). The cells were pretreated with A, B, C, or D for 1 h, then stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS, 1 ㎍/ml) for 48 h. Then the cells were harvested for real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction to detect cytokine productions. Then using effective combination from RG, PR and SC, we administrated the combination orally, then challenged with OVA to induce asthma. Then we analyzed the airway hyper-reactivity (AHR), lung histology and lung TNF-α and IL-5 mRNA. Results: A. B. C. and D did not showed significant cytotoxicity on splenocytes. Pre-treatment of A inhibited the expression of TNF-α and IL-5 significantly, but not B, C, and D. In experimental asthma, administration of A significantly inhibited the increase of AHR, lung damage, TNF-α and IL-5 expression. Conclusions: Theses results could suggest that inhibitory effects of the ideal combination with RG, PT and SC (1:1:1) could be applied to treatment of asthma and study of asthma mechanisms.
사용자 친화적 시스템 구성을 위한 LED 보드 최적화 설계

본 논문은 MCU와 LED 드라이버를 활용한 감마 보정, 논 플리커, 구동 소음 제거 등의 개선 방안을 적용하여 LED 시스템의 사용자 친화적 시스템을 구성하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있다. 실험 결과, LED 드라이버의 22kHz PWM 모드는 가청 주파수 바깥 영역에서 소음이 발생하여 사용자는 실질적으로 소음을 인지할 수 없었으며, 정상 동작 구간인 지연율 5% 이내의 풀업 저항 값은 3kHz PWM 모드 시 1kΩ ~ 10kΩ 이며, 22kHz PWM 모드는 1kΩ ~ 2kΩ 로 확인되었다. 또한, 감마 보정을 통해 비선형적인 인간의 시각 시스템에 맞게 최적화하여 정확한 대비와 명암을 표현할 수 있으며, 결과적으로 기존의 LED 시스템보다 더 자연스럽고 정확한 표현이 가능한 LED 시스템의 개발과 사용자의 시각적인 경험을 개선할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. This paper focuses on configuring a user-friendly system of LED systems by applying improvement measures such as gamma correction, non-flicker, and driving noise removal using MCUs and LED drivers. As a result of the experiment, the 22kHz PWM mode of the LED driver generated noise outside the audible frequency range, making it practically imperceptible to users. The appropriate pull-up resistor values within the normal operating delay ratio of 5% were found to be 1kΩ to 10kΩ for the 3kHz PWM mode and 1kΩ to 2kΩ for the 22kHz PWM mode. In addition, gamma correction can be optimized for nonlinear human visual systems to express accurate contrast and as a result, it is expected to develop an LED system that can be expressed more naturally and accurately than conventional LED systems and improve users' visual experience.

Mushroom poisonings are potentially fatal. Most fatalities are due to the amatoxin that causes fulminant hepatic failure and acute renal failure. We report a patient who developed acute renal failure after ingesting Amanita virgineoides, which required renal replacement therapy, despite recovery of liver injury. A kidney biopsy showed acute tubular necrosis. The patient was recovered with the supportive care and temporary hemodialysis.
