The extended narrow-line region kinematics of 3 Type-2 QSOs revealed by the VLTVIMOS IFU spectra

We present kinematic properties of the narrow-line region in three type-2 QSOs at z~0.35, using 2-D spectra obtained with the VIMOS integral field unit spectrograph at the Very Large Telescope. One of the objects shows a line-of-sight velocity shift of the [OIII] and $H{\beta}$ lines up to 40km/s on a 15 kpc scale, which can be interpreted as either outflow or rotation. The outflow scenario is supported by the presence of blue wings and a radio structure showing lobes in the same direction. Another object features double-peaked emission lines which can be decomposed into two velocity components. Its Hubble Space Telescope image shows two nuclei separated by ~0.2"(~1kpc), implying this may be a binary AGN.

A railway track generates severe levels of vibrations. In order to reduce these vibrations and to provide structural stability, various rail pads, mats, etc., are used for vibration protection. In this study, a specially designed rail pad was developed to reduce vibration and to generate electric power simultaneously, that is, by using the vibrations generated by railway cars on the track. The newly developed rail pads were tested to evaluate the characteristics of electric power by investigating the generated voltage and the current levels and patterns. In addition, we proposed an optimal laminated structure and adhesive by comparing the voltage generated by each type of adhesive required for optimal adhesion of the rail pad and the piezoelectric device.

글로벌 큐를 통한 임베디드 멀티코어 프로세서의 멀티 DNN 연산 성능 향상

DNN은 로봇 및 자율주행차 등의 임베디드 시스템에서 활용 분야가 넓어지고 있다. 최근 높은 인식 정확도를 위하여 연산 복잡도가 크게 증가되고 비주기적으로 다수의 DNN을 사용하는 형태가 증가되고 있다. 따라서 임베디드 환경에서 다수의 DNN을 처리할 수 있는 능력은 중요한 이슈가 되었다. 이에 따라 멀티코어 기반 플랫폼들이 출시되고 있다. 하지만 대부분의 DNN 모델들은 배치 프로세스로 운용되어, 여러 DNN이 함께 멀티코어에서 운용될 때 어떻게 코어에 할당되느냐에 따라 각 DNN 간 수행시간 편차가 클 수 있고 시스템 전체적인 DNN 수행 시간이 길어질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 각 DNN들을 배치 형태가 아닌 레이어별로 재구성한 후 글로벌 큐를 통하여 멀티코어에 분산시킬 수 있는 프레임워크를 제공하여 이러한 문제를 해결한다. 실험 결과 전체 DNN 수행 시간은 31% 감소하였고 다수의 동일 DNN을 운용 시 그 수행시간 편차는 최대 95.1% 감소하였다. DNN is expanding its use in embedded systems such as robots and autonomous vehicles. For high recognition accuracy, computational complexity is greatly increased, and multiple DNNs are running aperiodically. Therefore, the ability processing multiple DNNs in embedded environments is a crucial issue. Accordingly, multicore based platforms are being released. However, most DNN models are operated in a batch process, and when multiple DNNs are operated in multicore together, the execution time deviation between each DNN may be large and the end-to-end execution time of the whole DNNs could be long depending on how they are allocated to the cores. In this paper, we solve these problems by providing a framework that decompose each DNN into individual layers and then distribute to multicores through a global queue. As a result of the experiment, the total DNN execution time was reduced by 31%, and when operating multiple identical DNNs, the deviation in execution time was reduced by up to 95.1%.

한국 여성의 유방암 발생에 대한 코호트 효과

Objectives: The purpose of the study is to review various methods in age-period-cohort (APC) analysis and to provide a guideline to choose adequate method evaluating age, period, and cohort effects. We investigated age, period, and cohort effects of breast cancer incidence between 1999 and 2011 in Korea. Methods: Data on female breast cancer incidence from 1999 to 2011 were drawn from the Korean national statistical office. The 5-year period of data units (1999-2003, 2004-2008, and 2009-2011) and 5-year age interval (30-34-80-84) were used to calculate 13 birth cohorts. The graphical approach, constrained generalized linear model (CGLM) approach, median polish approach and intrinsic estimator (IE) approach were used to estimate age, period, and cohort effects. Results: The age and period effects existed significantly in CGLM, median polish, IE approaches. The breast cancer incidence increased along with age and period. However, there was a difference in cohort effect. For CGLM, positive cohort effects for recent cohort emerged significantly, but for the other methods, no significant effects shown. Conclusions: While previous studies have used the CGLM method, CGLM depends on arbitrary parameter constraints. Therefore, we suggest median polish approach or IE approach for analyzing APC models to obtain more accurate results.

텍스트 속성을 이용한 효과적인 텍스트 영상 디블러링 : 한 장의 텍스트 영상으로부터 텍스트 속성을 이용한 정확한 모션 블러 추정 및 제거

본 논문은 한 장의 블러 텍스트 영상으로부터 균일 모션 블러를 정확하게 추정하고, 선명한 텍스트 영상을 복원할 수 있는 방법을 제시한다. 기존의 방법들은 주로 자연영상(natural images)에 중점을 두고 디블러링 방법을 개발하였기 때문에, 텍스트와 같이 자연영상과 다른 속성을 가지는 영상을 처리하기 어려웠다. 반면, 본 논문에서 제시하는 방법은 최근에 제안된 텍스트 검출 방법인 SWT 를 이용하여 영상의 텍스트를 검출하고, 각 글자들이 단일 색상을 가진다는 속성에 기반하여 텍스트를 예측한 뒤, 이를 통해 모션 블러를 정확하게 추정한다. 또한, 영상 복원 시에도 텍스트 속성을 이용하여 더 선명하게 텍스트를 복원한다. 마지막으로 실험 결과를 통해 본 논문이 제시하는 방법이, 사람이 읽기 불가능했던 텍스트를 선명하게 복원할 수 있음을 보여준다. We propose a novel effective text image deblurring method using textspecific properties. Since previous methods for motion deblurring have been mainly focusing on natural images, it is considered difficult to deblur small objects such as texts which have different properties from natural images. In contrast, our method utilizes a recent text detection method, SWT, to predict sharp texts, and estimates accurate motion blur using the predicted sharp texts. Moreover, the properties of texts are incorporated into deconvolution as a prior to restore sharper text images. By doing this, we can effectively restore sharp text images degraded by complex motion blur.

일 지역 간호대학생의 자아존중감, 간호전문직관 및 조직몰입에 관한 연구

본 연구는 일 지역 간호대학생의 자아존중감, 전문직관 및 조직 몰입 간의 관계를 규명하기 위해 시도되었다. 자료수 집은 2015년 5월 23일에서 27일 사이에 J시에서 간호대학생 287명을 대상으로 시도되었다. 자료에 대한 분석은 평균, 표준 편차, t 검정, ANOVA, Scheffe`s test, Pearson 상관 계수, 단계적 다중 회귀 분석을 WIN SPSS 17.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석 하였다. 간호대학생들은 자아존중감, 간호전문직관 및 조직몰입에 대해 5점 만점에 각각 4.07점, 3.93점 및 3.75점의 평균값으로 나타났으며, 간호대학생의 자아존중감은 전문직관, 조직몰입과 통계적으로 유의한 순 상관관계를 보였고, 전문 직관과 조직몰입도 통계적으로 유의한 순 상관관계를 보였다. 자아존중감과 전문직관 두 측정변인은 간호대학생의 조직몰 입에 대해 47.2 %의 설명력을 보였다. 이에 간호대학생의 자아존중감과 전문직관을 증진시키는 교육을 통해 긍정적인 조직 몰입을 강화하는 것이 필요하다. Purpose : This study was done to identify the relationship among Self-esteem, Nursing professional values, Organizational commitment in a diploma nursing students. Method : A descriptive research design was used in this study. The participants were 287 nursing students in J city who were surveyed between May 23 and May 27, 2015. The data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 17.0 Program, which determined frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Scheffe`s test, Pearson correlation coefficient and Stepwise multiple regression analysis. Result : The nursing students investigated a mean of 4.07 and 3.93 on self-esteem and Nursing professional values respectively. They attained a mean of 3.75 on organizational commitment. There were positive correlation between self-esteem, nursing professional values and organizational commitment for nursing students. Two factors explained 47.2% of organizational commitment of nursing students. Conclusion : It is necessary to enhance positive organizational commitment to improve Self-esteem and Nursing professional values in clinical practice of nursing students. Also,

Purpose: This study attempted to compare the relationships between self-esteem, professional self-concept, and satisfaction in clinical practice in a diploma nursing students. Method: A descriptive research design was used in this study. The participants were 256 nursing students in J city who were surveyed between May 2 and May 10, 2013 using self-report questionnaires. The data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 17.0 Program, which determined frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Stepwise multiple regression analysis. Result: There were positive correlation between self-esteem and professional self-concept, self-esteem and satisfaction in clinical practice and professional self-concept and satisfaction in clinical practice for nursing students. The predictors influencing satisfaction in clinical practice for nursing student were self-esteem and professional self-concept. Two factors explained 32.3% of satisfaction in clinical practice of nursing students. Conclusion: It is necessary to enhance positive recognition on self-esteem to improve professional self-concept and satisfaction in clinical practice of nursing students. In order to increase of satisfaction in clinical practice, it is important to consider reform efficient communication skills between professor and nursing students.
