        흰쥐의 신맥(申脈)($BL_{62}$)에 시술한 저주파 전침자극의 항산화 효과에 대한 실험적 연구

        Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the anti-oxidative effect of electroacupuncture at Shinmaek($BL_{62}$) in rats. Methods : In order to cause oxidative stress, AAPH was administered to the abdominal cavity of rats, after we stimulated $BL_{62}$ of the rat by electroacupuncture. Blood test and anti-oxidative test(LDL-cholesterol, GOT, GPT SOD, GSH, catalase, NO, MDA) were performed at the end of treatment. Results: 1. SOD, glutathione, catalase activity were significantly increased in the $BL_{62}-EA$ group compared with the holder group. 2. NO density was significantly decreased in the $BL_{62}-EA$ group compared with the holder group. 3. Glutathione was significantly increased in the $BL_{62}-EA$ group compared with the sham-EA group. Conclusion : These results suggest that electroacupuncture at $BL_{62}$ has an anti-oxidant effect in human.

        스마트 양식장 수조 내 용존 산소 및 온도 제어를 위한 시스템 구현

        Dissolved oxygen, pH, and temperature are the most important factors for fish farming because they affect fish growth and mass mortality of the fish. Therefore, fish farm workers must always check all pools on the farm, but this is very difficult in reality. That’s why we developed a control system for smart fish farms. This system includes a gateway, sensor gatherers, and a PC program using LabVIEW. One sensor gatherer can cover up to four pools. The sensor gatherers are connected to the gateway in the form of a bus. For the gateway, the ATmega2560 is used as the main processor for communication and the STM32F429 is used as a sub-processor for displaying LCD. For the sensor gatherer, ATmega2560 is used as the main processor for communication. MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport), RS-485, and Zigbee are used as the communication protocols in the control system. The users can control the temperature and the dissolved oxygen using the PC program. The commands are transferred from the PC program to the gateway through the MQTT protocol. When the gateway gets the commands, it transfers the commands to the appropriate sensor gatherer through RS-485 and Zigbee.         일측성 성대 마비에서 $Radiesse^{(R)}$를 이용한 성대 주입술 : 예비보고

        Background and Objectives: $Radiesse^{(R)}$ is a gell-formed material of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) and carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) used for vocal fold injections. The authors aimed to study injection laryngoplasty with $Radiesse^{(R)}$, and determine the efficacy of $Radiesse^{(R)}$ for unilateral vocal cord palsy using objective and subjective measures. Materials and Method: Nine patients with unilateral vocal cord palsy received injection laryngoplasty with $Radiesse^{(R)}$ under general anesthesia from Jul. 2007 to Jan. 2008. $Radiesse^{(R)}$ was injected with 25gauze long needle perorally or percutaneously. The Acoustic, aerodynamic, stroboscopic analysis and pre-injection/post-injection perceptual assessment were evaluated in all patients. Results: Postoperative jitter and shimmer scores tended to diminish compared to preoperative scores, and maximum phonation time increased with statistical significantly. Stroboscopic findings demonstrated improvement postoperatively. The degree of hoarseness, which is a part of perceptual assessment, decreased after the procedure. Conclusion: $Radiesse^{(R)}$ may be an altemative material for injection laryngoplasty. We suggest long-term follow up with more cases.

        Pedagogical Reflections on Teaching Because-clause in Korean EFL Writing

        This study examines an error widely produced by university L2 English learners in Korea: the use of the causal adverbial, because-clause. It also aims to discuss notable factors including morpho-syntactic one that negatively affect their ability to produce because-clauses. Since the late 1960s, the research has tended to focus on a few approaches to determine the culprits of learners’ erroneous suppliance of because-clauses, including the role of L1 transfer, interlanguage and so on. After revisiting the syntactic functions of because in English, previous research on the use of because-clauses, including Oh (2009) and Celce-Murcia & Larsen-Freeman (1999) is sketched. They point out that ESL/EFL learners might face greater challenges in understanding English coordinators, adverbial subordinators, and conjunctive adverbials. Furthermore, EFL/ESL learners show looser degrees of correspondence to the English word class. The major findings by Park (2013) over Korean causal conjunctions’ syntactic and semantic features (-nnika and–ese) as Korean equivalents of because is presented. Over all, on the bases of two surveys, one on the Korean EFL students’ nontargetlike usage of because and the other on Korean English teachers’ methods of presenting because-clauses, it is illustrated that the morpho-syntactic aspects of L1 grammar have been overlooked by the Korean EFL teachers. The present paper, therefore, concludes with pedagogical implications for the misuse of because, by both ends, one from the Korean EFL teachers and from the grammatical properties of because in the two languages under consideration.

        Phenylboronic acid-conjugated cationic methylcellulose for hepatocellular carcinoma-targeted drug/gene co-delivery systems

        Phenylboronic acid-conjugated cationic methylcellulose (MCPEI-PBA) was synthesized and character-ized for hepatocellular carcinoma-targeted drug/gene co-delivery systems. MCPEI-PBA was obtained byreductive amination of polyethylenimine 2k to oxidized methylcellulose and conjugation of PBA. MCPEIPBAcould form nano-aggregates via B–N coordinate bonding and hydrophobic interaction and also formpositively charged and nano-sized polyplexes. Cytotoxicity of MCPEI-PBA was low and MCPEI-PBAshowed higher transfection efficiency than PEI25k in hepatocellular carcinoma. Galactose pretreatmentexperiment suggested its specific interaction with asialoglycoprotein receptors. MCPEI-PBA couldencapsulate doxorubicin (Dox) efficiently. Finally, MCPEI-PBA/Dox/pJDK-apoptin complexes showed highanticancer activity due to the combinatorial effect of Dox and expressed apoptin.

        A Study on the Understanding and Effective Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

        This study would investigate the generative AIs currently in service in the era of hyperscale AIs and explore measures for the use of generative AIs, focusing on ‘ChatGPT,’ which has received attention as a leader of generative AIs. Among the various generative AIs, this study selected ChatGPT, which has rich application cases to conduct research, investigation, and use. This study investigated the concept, learning principle, and features of ChatGPT, identified the algorithm of conversational AI as one of the specific cases and checked how it is used. In addition, by comparing various cases of the application of conversational AIs such as Google’s Bard and MS’s NewBing, this study sought efficient ways to utilize them through the collected cases and conducted research on the limitations of conversational AI and precautions for its use. If connected to city-related databases, it can provide information on city infrastructure, transportation systems, and public services, so residents can easily get the information they need. We want to apply this research to enrich the lives of our citizens.
