One New Species of Freshwater Gammarus(Crustacea, Amphipoda, Gammaridae)from South Korea

Kim과 Lee(1977) 그리고 Lee and Kim(1980)이 Gammarus sobaegensis의 변이종으로 취급했던 경상북도 봉화군에서 채집된 type 4를 재검토한 결과 독립된 종으로 확인되어 Gammarus longisaeta라고 명명하고 기재한다. 이로써 한구 담수산 Gammarus는 9종이 된다. Seven geographical variation types of G.sobaegensis in South Korea were reported by Kim and Lee(1977) and Lee and Kim (1980). After extensive reexamination, we considered type 4, one of the variation types collectd from various localities of Kyongsangbuk-do Pongwha-gun, as a new species This new species is named as Gammarus longisaeta and fully described and illustrated. Adding this new species, total 9 species of freshwater Gammarus are Known to Korea.

위눈꺼풀에 발생한 털기질종 4예

Purpose: Four patients who presented with an upper lid mass were diagnosed with pilomatricoma after excisional biopsy. We report the cases to improve the differential diagnoses of upper lid masses through investigation of the clinical manifestations and radiological findings of pilomatricoma. Case summary: Three females and one male with ages of six, seven, eight and 46 years, respectively, each presented with a slowly growing and painless upper lid mass of a three-month duration. In the six-year-old patient who had a history of trauma related to the mass, the mass was fixed to the skin, although the masses were movable in the other patients. Upon computed tomography (CT), well-circumscribed, enhancing nodules were found. Excisional biopsy was performed for definite diagnosis and treatment. All completely excised masses were hard and encapsulated with a thin membrane. The sizes of the masses were 12 mm, 10 mm, 10 mm, and 7 mm. Histopathologic examination with hematoxylin-eosin staining confirmed the masses to be pilomatricoma. There was no evidence of recurrence at 16, 2, 19, and 21 months after mass excision. Conclusions: In patients presenting with a painless upper lid mass, pilomatricoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2010;51(5):758-763

Fauna of Caprellidae (Amphipoda) of Cheju Island and its Adjacent waters, Korea

저자가 1987년 2월에서 7월사이에 제주도 연안에서 채집한 바다대벌레과(Ca-prellidae)에 속하는 표본들과 1985년에 채집되어 단국대 생물학과에 보관되어있던 표본들을 대상으로 동정한 결과 5속 15종이 확인되었는데 이중 5속 5종은 한국 미기록 종이어서 새로이 기재하고 도판을 작성하였다. 이로써 Korean Straits를 제외한 한국연안에서 보고된 종은 모두 26종이 되었다. Fifteen caprellid species in 5 genera were identifice during the study period from February to July , 1987 at 16 localites in Cheju Island and adjacent waters. Of which 5 species in 5 genera are newly reported from Korea ; Caprella kominatoensis Takeuchi, 1986. Protomima imittrix Mayer, 1903. Pseudoproto fallax Mayer, 1903, Paraprotella prima Mayer, 1903 and Protella gracilis Dana, 1853.

형제자매에서 발생한 약시의 임상 양상

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical characteristics of amblyopia between amblyopic siblings. Methods: Siblings diagnosed with monocular amblyopia were included in the present study and were classified into older and younger groups according to age. All siblings were treated for amblyopia for at least three months. The age at diagnosis, type of amblyopia, and visual acuities of the amblyopic eye and sound eye were compared between the two groups. The therapeutic results were analyzed. Results: The age at diagnosis of 13 sibling pairs was 4.7 ± 1.6 and 3.8 ± 1.6 years, a difference that was not statistically different (p = 0.169). Nine of 13 sibling pairs had the same type of amblyopia; anisometropic amblyopia in 7 pairs and strabismic amblyopia in 2 sibling pairs. There were no significant differences in the visual acuities of the amblyopic eye and sound eye at diagnosis. There were no differences in visual acuity or lines of improvement from baseline visual acuity in the amblyopic eye at the final follow-up. Conclusions: Age at diagnosis, cause of amblyopia, and visual acuities of the amblyopic and sound eyes were similar in siblings with monocular amblyopia. Purpose: To compare the outcome of part-time occlusion therapy and intermittent atropine penalization therapy in amblyopic school-age patients. Methods: In the present study, the authors retrospectively analyzed school-age amblyopic patients treated with part-time occlusion therapy (Group 1) and intermittent atropine penalization therapy (Group 2) as primary treatments. Age, visual acuity (logMAR) and interocular acuity differences at the beginning of treatment, cause of amblyopia, depth of amblyopia, and compliance for treatment were analyzed. Visual acuity and the lines of improvement from baseline visual acuity in the amblyopic eye were compared between the two groups with high compliance. Results: The number of patients was 43 in Group 1 and 23 in Group 2. Age and the baseline visual acuity were not significantly different between Group 1 and Group 2. Group 2 had a higher level of compliance than did Group 1 (91.7; 63.4%), but there was no statistical difference between the groups (p=0.064). The visual acuity (logMAR, 0.27:0.05, p=0.020) and the lines of improvement of the amblyopic eye at the final follow-up (2.7:4.2 lines, p=0.010) were better in Group 1 than in Group 2 with high compliance. Conclusions: In amblyopic school-age children, part-time occlusion therapy could be conducted as primary treatment in cases with high compliance. Intermittent atropine penalization therapy can be attempted if there is low compliance in occlusion therapy. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2010;51(2):259-265

프로그래밍 언어의 조절효과 및 학습자의 학습특성과 성취도와의 관계 분석

본 연구는 컴퓨터 비전공생인 학습자가 프로그래밍 학습 진입에 사용하기 적정한 언어에 관한 연구를 위해 학습자의 특성과 학습하는 언어에 따른 성취도의 관계를 분석하였다. 학습자의 특성은 성취동기, 상황적 흥미, 인지적 관여, 수행자기효능감으로 설정하였으며 사용하는 언어와 학습 성취도와의 관계를 파악하고자 구조방정식을 이용한 경로분석과 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 흥미와 인지적 관여는 수행자기효능감에 영향을 미치고 수행자기효능감이 학업성취도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이때, 학습하는 프로그래밍 언어의 종류가 학습성취도에 조절효과를 나타내었다. 연구 결과는 소프트웨어 비전공자 대상의 수업에서 학습하는 언어의 종류와 학습 순서가 중요하며 이에 따른 교육과정 설계와 수업진행이 필요하다는 시사점을 제언한다. This study analyzed the relationship between the characteristics of learners and the achievement level according to the language they learn in programming education for non-major students. The learner's characteristics were set as mastery goal, situaltional interest, cognitive engagement, and self-efficacy for performance, and path analysis was conducted to understand the relationship between the language used and the learning achievement. Situaltional interest and cognitive engagement were found to have an effect on self-efficacy for performace, and self-efficacy for performance had an effect on academic achievement. At this time, the type of programming language to be studied showed a moderating effect on learning achievement. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that appropriate instruction is needed for each language used in programming lessons for software non-majors.
