MOCVD로 성장된 InGaAs 양자점을 이용하여 1.5 ㎛의 발광파장을 갖는 고휘도 발광소자(Superluminescent diode, SLD)를 제작하였다. 상온에서 SLD의 광출력은 CW 3 ㎽ 였고, 3?㏈ 파장대역폭은 55 ㎚ 이었다. Superluminescent diodes (SLD) with the emitting wavelength of 1.55 ㎛ was fabricated on InGaAs quantum dot structure grown by MOCVD. The output power and 3-㏈ bandwidth at room temperature and continuous wave operation were 3 mw and 55 ㎚, respectively.

Some nano hair systems in the nature are found to show excellent adhesive characteristic, which is called dry adhesive. To develop a practical synthetic dry adhesive system, we mold nano hairs on plastic substrates using thermoplstic materials including COC, PP, PC and PMMA. and estimate the moldability and the adhesive characteristic. As a template for molding nano hairs, AAO membrane is first adopted, which is 60㎛ thick and 13㎜ in diameter. This membrane has about billions of through-holes of which diameter is around 200㎚. This AAO membrane and the pellet of materials are stacked in the mold and pressed to mold after heating up to be melted. The AAO membrane is removed using KOH to obtain the molded nano hairs. The molded nano hair substrates is estimated to show much better adhesive characteristic than a substrate without nano hairs.

High aspect ratio of nano hair array on a plastic substrate is injection molded using thermoplatic materials. The diameter of the hairmolded is about 200㎚ and the length is 2㎛ ~ 10㎛, so the aspect ratio is over 10. As a template for molding, two types of AAO(Aluminum Anodizing Oxide) plate are adopted. One is though-hole type of which the thickness is about 60㎛ and another is intaglio hole type on the Al plate of about 2㎜ thickness. The overall dimension of the molded substrate with nano hair array on its surface is about 10㎜ for diameter and about 1mm for thickness. COC(Cyclic Olefin Copolymer) is used due to its goodmoldability andmechanical properties.
교량 점검진단의 제안 보수물량과 실제 보수물량의 편차 분석

교량은 주요한 사회기반시설 중 하나로서 “시설물의 안전 및 유지관리에 관한 특별법”에 의하여 점검이 이뤄진다. 점검의 결과로 산출된 손상 물량은 정해진 비율로 할증되어 개략 공사비에 반영된다. 하지만, 이렇게 정해진 비율의 할증에 의해 산정된 물량은 실제로 보수 시에 발생하는 물량을 잘 반영하지 못하고 있다. 이 연구에서는 교량관리시스템의 최근 5년 점검, 보수이력 데이터를 수집하여 유지관리정보 항목 구분에 따른 제안 보수물량 할증율 편차에 대해서 상세하게 살펴보고, 더 나아가 손상 종류, 교량 형식, 교량 부재 등에 따른 적절한 할증율 및 물량 산정 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to review the process for establishing a pediatric communicable diseases sentinel surveillance system, and the results of operation based on the accumulated data to understand the descriptive epidemiologic characteristics of pediatric communicable diseases. Methods: A sentinel surveillance system for pediatric communicable diseases was developed in May 2001 with the 202 doctors in pediatric clinics who participated voluntarily. The target diseases for sentinel surveillance were measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox and aseptic meningitis. The case definitions of those diseases for surveillance were divided into confirmed cases and suspected cases by the diseases definitions of national notifiable diseases system. The participants should report as soon as possible when they diagnosed measles, mumps, rubella cases including suspected ones. But chicken pox and aseptic meningitis cases were reported once a week in regular base including zero report. We collected the data from May 2001 to December 2003 and showed the descriptive epidemiologic characteristics of each disease. Results: The average reporting proportion among survellance doctors has been increased, about 88% in 2003. For measles, 206 cases were reported in 2001, 10 cases in 2002, and 2 cases in 2003. Children under the age of 2 (53.4 %) showed the highest. Among the measles cases, 86.4% had no previous vaccination history. In case of mumps, 246 cases in 2001, 241 in 2002, and 566 cases in 2003 were reported. Mumps showed seasonality, highest from April to June in each year. The sex ratio was about 1.5 (M:F = 6:4). Among the reported cases, 76.9 % had previous MMR immunization history at least one time. For Rubella, 9 cases in 2001, 3 in 2002, and no case were reported in 2003. The chicken pox case proportion per 100 pediatric consultations showed peak in from May to June and from November to January. 3-5 year-old children (45.7%) were showed high proportion by age. Conclusion: This study described the process of establishing and operating a system for the pediatric communicable disease sentinel surveillance. We analyzed the desriptive epidemiologic characteristic of the reported data from May 2001 to December 2003. These data maybe useful to build the policy of public health management for communicable diseases control system and vaccine preventable diseases.

Leiomyosarcoma arising in the skin is rare tumor, and diagnosis usually is made microscopically. After local excision, these lesions recur in large proportion of pat ients. The authors herein report a 53-year-old male with leiomyosarcoma appeared in the skin of the right forearm and presenting as a dark reddish colored, 5*6cm in diameter, superficial ulcerated single firm nodule with intermittent pain. Histopathological examination showed poorly circumscribed tumor consisting of interlacing bundles of spindle shaped smooth muscle cells in the middle and lower parts of the dermis. The nuclei were hyperchromatic, large, vacuolated, and irregular in shape. Electron microscopic findings revealed cytoplasmic organelles such as rough endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria of malignant smooth muscle cells in the paranuclear area, Characteristic subsarcoelmmal caveolae and dense plaque were noted and myofilaments were distributed in the peripheral cytoplasm. The tumor did not recur in 10 months' follow-up.

A new method is proposed to fabricate a reusable qualtz master with order of 100 nm dot pattern on its surface. Some fabrication conditions such as dose are investigated to find optimal condition. This reusable qualtz master is used directly as a stamper to injection mold the dot patterns. Polycarbonate and Polyoxymethylene are used as molding materials and the effect of the mold temperature is also investigated to see the moldabilty of the injection molding for very fine dot features.
