In Korean architecture, regionalism appeared as a discourse against modern architecture and western world that threaten traditional architecture. But in local architecture it seems to have different levels of meanings, one is locality against the center and the other is regionality which belongs to a certain city or region. The purpose of this study is to find the differences of local cities' regionality discourse from Korean regionality discourse by analysing the articles shown in architectural magazines. Focused on Ideal Architecture, which is a represented local architectural magazine, this study investigated what the local magazine focused on and how it wanted to lead discourse of regionality.

This study mainly concerns the appellations in talk shows of Korea and Japanese. It is widely known that the cultural characteristics of the two countries are reflected in the terms of address of each country, and that especially the use of first(or second) person pronouns between the speaker and the listener differ from those of the West. Although talk shows contain private discourses on private topics, as they are conducted in a public domain, they can provide useful material. We extracted a total of 378 terms of address which were used in 5 episodes of Korea’s talk show “Radio star”, and a total of 309 terms of address used in 5 episodes of Japan’s talk show “Syabekuri 007”. The extracted appellations can be divided into four types : those containing the name, pronouns, kinship terms, and others. There are many common features in the use of the terms of address between the two countries. First, the terms of address “ ~ ssi” and “~sang”, which are combined with the name, are most commonly used, and there are many variations of the expressions. Second, 15 percent of the pronouns (personal pronouns and demonstrative pronouns) were extracted from each country’s talk show, and those are usually used when people tell light-hearted jokes. On the other hand, many differences were also observed between the two countries’ terms of address. For example, the terms of address combined with the name are more commonly used and have more variations in Japan’s talk show than in Korea’s one, and kinship terms are more commonly used and have more variations in Korea’s talk show than in Japan’s one.

. This study recognized the need to develop products with high nutritional convenience, taking into consideration the characteristics of the elderly and manufactured soft baekseolgi using Pinus koraiensis leaves powder with excellent antioxidant activity, to supplement nutrients lacking in baekseolgi. The ratio of Pinus koraiensis leaves powder was 0%, 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7%, and chromaticity, pH, sugar content, texture, antioxidant ability, and sensory acceptability were evaluated. The L-value decreased as the amount of Pinus koraiensis leaves powder added increased, and in the case of a-value and b-value increased as the amount of Pinus koraiensis leaves powder added increased. The pH decreased as the amount of Pinus koraiensis leaves powder added increased, and the sugar content was shown from 0.40 brix to 0.70 brix. The total polyphenol content and DPPH radical scavenging activity increased as the Pinus koraiensis leaves powder content increased, and the total flavonoid content was ranged from 49.53 mg/mL to 71.73 mg/mL. ABTS radical scavenging ability was shown to range from 19.47% to 67.48%. The sensory acceptability of sweetness was evaluated to be weaker as the amount of Pinus koraiensis leaves powder added increased. Through the results of these studies, an example of the development of desserts for the elderly was shown using Pinus koraiensis with excellent antioxidant properties.

This study explored the use of names in Ozaki Koyo"s Konjiki Yasha(1897-1902) and its Korean adaptation Janghanmong(1913). It is the social norm in both Japanese and Korean that people avoid calling their superiors by name, and add an honorary suffix such as san or ssi to the name. However, it has been pointed out that they cannot be translated directly due to differences in usage of san and ssi. In this study, we compared san and ssi in the Japanese and Korean novels that were published in the early 20th century when these two suffixes began to be commonly used. These novels also share the same content. As a result, it was found that the names were called differently in each novel despite the same settings shared by these novels. The finding are summarized as follows. Firstly, overall, san tended to be used in more diverse situations than ssi. Secondly, the most frequently called person names were last name without the honorary suffix for Konjiki Yasha and first name without the honorary suffix for Janghanmong. Thirdly, kun which is used among men of the same generation, is rarely found in the Korean adaptation. Fourthly, Japanese address terms varied depending on solidarity, but Korean was more sensitive to power such as age. The honorific suffix san was not translated on the ‘san = ssi’ basis in the adaptation process, but was translated according to the situation and context it was used. It was also suggested that there was a change in the usage of ssi rather than that of san when compared with today"s usage. Follow-up studies are needed to track changes through various literatures.
