Purpose: In this study, we aimed to explore the risk factors for catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) in patients receiving home care nursing. Methods: A total of 117 participants registered for home care nursing provided by the University of C hospital in Seoul were included in the study. Data were based on a survey and urine examination results from June to July 2018. Results: Asymptomatic bacteriuria was identified in 96 (82%) patients. Age, sex, activity, diabetes mellitus, mental status, presence of other diseases, catheter material type, catheter size and fixation, hand washing (care giver), gloving (care giver), perineal care, and bladder irrigation were not recognized as risk factors for CAUTI. Age and catheterization duration were associated with CAUTI. Conclusions: Old age was found to be a risk factor for CAUTI (p=0.048). CAUTI incidence decreased as catheter use exceeded 70 months (p=0.028).
노인전용집합주거 커뮤니티의 지역사회 연계 유형에 관한 연구

Amongst society's transitional presuppositions towards the future, population aging is the most critical issue in Korea. Immediate attention to devise a countermove is required. One of the major trends appeared in retirement communities of advanced countries is social integration which has been considered as a promising future direction of elderly housing development. This study aims to find out social integration characteristics and to categorize local engagement types of recent retirement communities through the characteristics of sharing common facilities and programs. Data were collected through mainly web site and literature reviews. Contentent analysis technique was used. Ten CCRC cases were selected through web search using the major key words such as 'intergenerational'. As a result, community engagement types were classified into six categories by the degree of sharing both physical and program resources between the retirement community and local area. This type can be utilized to develop alternative housing and retirement community for the older adults as a new model which activates the resident and vitalizes the retirement community through local engagement by physical and social resources.
광범위 장절제술 후 발생한 Protein Energy Malnutrition

Protein energy malnutrition cocurs when inadequate protein and calories are ingested. PEM is not confined to children and is common in hospitalized patients. PEM is diegnosed by a weight loss and hypoalbuminemia. We report a case of PEM in a 27-year-old man after Whipples operation. He had brittle hair, loss on the scalp and brownish colored papules with desquamation on extrem ties. Also he had erosion and fissuring on the perioral area and beef tongue. Treatment with zinc sulfate, albumin and vitamin resulted in a good response. (Kor J Dermatol 1994; 32(1): 130-133)

The effects of surface coating of cellulose II-based micro-fibrillated celluloses (MFCs) prepared with high concentration alkali treatment with/without co-solvent and then subsequent grinding were investigated in terms of physical properties of the coated papers. It was found that both of cellulose I MFC and cellulose II MFCs improved paper strength with increasing the pick-up of the MFCs. A similar magnitude of increase in paper strength was observed between cellulose I MFC and cellulose II MFCs. Optical properties of paper were slightly impaired with surface coating of MFCs. The papers coated with cellulose II MFCs showed a less color deviation and higher brightness than the papers coated with cellulose I MFC. No distinctive effect of co-solvent was found in strength and optical properties of the coated papers. The air resistances of the MFC coated papers were increased with the pick-up of MFCs. The papers coated with cellulose I MFC showed a higher air resistance than that with cellulose II MFCs at a given pick-up due to the more fibrillated nature of cellulose I MFC.

Recently the coffee industries rapidly grow as people"s dietary life changes and quality of life improves. Proliferation of coffeehouses let people cognize them as cultural spaces not only mere spaces for drinking coffee beverages. Therefore, distinguished strategy for space design became the one of the most important factor for customers" decision-making. This study analysed the strategies for space design by the brands of coffeehouses, and focused on understanding how those strategies cognized by customers and how they affect customers" level of satisfaction and intention of revisitation. The result of analysis showed that the level of satisfaction was raised when customers cognized unique strategies by brands and the intention of revisitation was raised when the level of satisfaction and reflection of strategy were high. In other words, setting and applying unique strategies by brands are to raise up level of satisfaction and intention of revisitation. The result of study could be used for the basic data on designing coffeehouses attracting customers" revisitation. Also, it could be the basis for effective strategy for customers.

용존공기부상법이란 오염물에 미세기포를 부착하여 수표면으로 부상시킴으로써 이를 제거하는 수처리 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 난류모델에 따른 용존공기부상조 내부 유동해석의 변화를 고찰하기 위해 물과 기포의 혼합물에 대한 2상 유동을 모사하였다. 이때, 주어진 용존공기부상조 형상 및 조건에 대하여 다양한 난류모델에 따른 용존공기부상법 내부의 미세기포 분포량, 계산시간 및 수렴성 등을 비교하였으며, 그 결과 기존에 주로 사용되었던 표준 k-? 모델이 타 난류모델과는 다른 거동을 예측하는 것으로 확인되었다. The dissolved air flotation (DAF) system is a water treatment process that removes contaminants by attaching micro bubbles to them, causing them to float to the water surface. In the present study, two-phase flow of air-water mixture is simulated to investigate changes in the internal flow analysis of DAF systems caused by using different turbulence models. Internal micro bubble distribution, velocity, and computation time are compared between several turbulence models for a given DAF geometry and condition. As a result, it is observed that the standard k-ε model, which has been frequently used in previous research, predicts somewhat different behavior than other turbulence models.

We experienced a case of Krukenberg tumor arising from transverse colon in a teenager who complained acute abdominal pain, which was confirmed by postoperative pathologic study and initially misdiagnosed as ovarian cancer with a huge pelvic mass, and report with a brief review of literatures.
