This paper proposes an efficient beam-shell modeling technique for the free vibration analysis of a T-joint thin-walled beam structure. Except a small portion of a T-joint which is modeled by shell elements, the structure is modeled by thin-walled beam elements that can describe warping and distortion. In order to match the shell and thin-walled beam elements at the interface of the dissimilar elements, a technique based on a pseudo inverse matrix is formulated. This paper also examines the role of the thin-walled element taking into account the distortion and warping deformation degrees of freedom in predicting accurately the dynamic characteristics of a T-joint thin-walled structure.

본 연구에서는 현지조사를 통해 식생의 하안 퇴적과 침식 경감을 판단하였다. 달뿌리풀은 임계유속 1.0 m/s-1.2 m/s을 기준으로 0.2 m 정도의 하안 퇴적과 0.3 m-0.4 m의 침식 경감 기능을 발휘하였다. 갈대는 임계유속 0.6 m/s-0.7 m/s을 기준으로 0.1 m-0.4 m의 하안 퇴적과 0.2 m-0.3 m의 침식 경감 기능을 발휘하였다. 갯버들은 임계유속 1.2 m/s-1.4 m/s을 기준으로 0.1 m-0.2 m의 하안 퇴적과 0.4 m-0.5 m의 침식 경감 기능을 발휘하였다. 물억새는 임계유속 0.6 m/s-0.7 m/s을 기준으로 0.1 m-0.4 m의 하안 퇴적과 0.1 m-0.2 m의 침식 경감 기능을 나타내었다. 조사 대상 식생 중 갯버들이 가장 높은 하안 침식 경감 기능을, 물억새가 가장 낮은 침식 경감 기능을 발휘하였다. 그러나 현지조사 결과 대상 식물종 모두 하안 퇴적 및 침식 경감 기능을 발휘함으로써 안정하도 형성에 기여함을 알 수 있었다. This paper presents the field investigation of deposition and erosion relief of a riverfront using vegetation. The results obtained were as follows: Phragmites japonica showed 0.2 m of deposition and 0.3 m-0.4 m of erosion relief of river front by the critical velocity of 1.0 m/s-1.2 m/s. P. communis showed 0.1 m-0.4 m of deposition and 0.2 m-0.3 m of erosion relief by the critical velocity of 0.6 m/s-0.7 m/s. Salix gracilistyla showed 0.1 m-0.2 m of deposition and 0.4 m-0.5 m of erosion relief by the critical velocity of 1.2 m/s-1.4 m/s. Miscanthus sacchariflorus showed 0.1 m-0.4 m of deposition and 0.1 m-0.2 m of erosion relief by the critical velocity of 0.6 m/s-0.7 m/s. S. gracilistyla had the greatest role, while M. sacchariflorus had the lowest role for erosion relief. These results showed that aquatic plants had an effective role in sustaining a stable channel.
End Effects of Thin-Walled Beams with General Quadrilateral Cross Sections

End effects due to sectional deformations of thin-walled beams with closed cross section are analysed by a one-dimensional theory. In particular, end effects associated with warping (out of plane m otion) and distortion (in plane motion) are investigated. The exact solutions as a vector form are newly derived to reveal slowly-decaying nature of the end effects in a thin-walled beam loaded by a couple. Several examples of thin-walled beams under various loading conditions indicate that the local end effect zone due to warping and distortion is approximately ten times the typical beam width.

생명체의 주된 기능 요소인 유전자를 모두 식별하는 작업의 중요성이 증가함에 따라, 최근에 유전자 예측도구들이 활발히 개발되고 있다. 그러나 유전자 예측 프로그램들은 예측 결과를 그들 고유의 형식으로 제공하여 사용자가 그 결과를 이해하기 위해서는 상당히 많은 추가적인 노력이 필요하다. 따라서 유전자 예측결과에 대한 표준화된 표현과 유전자 데이터 집합에 대한 예측결과를 자동으로 계산하는 방법을 지원하는 것이 바람직하다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 유전자 예측 정보에 대한 효과적인 XML 표현과 이를 바탕으로 예측된 유전자 결과를 자동으로 분석하는 in 기반 분석 도구에 대하여 기술한다. 개발된 도구는 유전자 예측도구를 사용하는 사용자들이 편리하게 예측결과를 분석하고 예측결과에 대한 통계결과를 자동으로 산출할 수 있도록 지원한다. 도구의 유용성을 보여주기 위하여 널리 사용되는 유전자 예측 도구인 GenScan과 GeneID의 처리결과를 개발된 도구에 적용시켜 보았다. Recently, as it is considered more important to identify the function of ail unknown genes in living things, many tools for gene prediction have been developed to identify genes in the DNA sequences. Unfortunately, most of those tools use their own schemes to represent their programs results, requiring researchers to make additional efforts to understand the result generated by them So, it is desirable to provide a standardized method of representing predicted gene information, which makes it possible to automatically produce the predicted results for a given set of gene data In this paper, we describe an effective U representation for various predicted gene information, and present an XML-based analysis tool for gene predication results based on this representation. The developed system helps users of gene prediction tools to conveniently analyze the predicted results and to automatically produce the statistical results of the prediction. To show the usefulness of the tool, we applied our programs to the results generated by GenScan and GeneID, which are widely used gene prediction systems.

To maintain users' sessions through web browsers, a web server needs facilities for authenticating users and managing their information. Those facilities enable a web server to keep the states of the users, providing services distinguished by the states. As of now, those facilities are provided through non-standardized technologies, leading to the repeated development of similar functionalities through many web programers. In this paper, to solve the problem, we define a new session class containing the information on a user, and present a design and implementation of the Java servlet classes which supply the facilities for authenticating users, managing their sessions, and controling web services according to the groups they belong to. These servlet classes work on any web servers supporting Java servlet such as JavaServer, Apache, and IIS.
급속진행성치주염 환자로부터 배양분리한 Porphyromonas gingivalis 균주의 ribotyping

This study examined ribotypes of 36 P. gingivalis strains isolated from 10 rapidly progressive periodontitis patients in Korean and revealed the presence of genetic heterogeneity among the patients. Ribotyping was performed by using a oligonucleotide probes based on 16S rRNA after whole genomic DNA had been digested with the restriction endonuclease enzyme Kpn I and Pst I. In addition, the antigenic heterogeneity of fimbrillin and protease activity was analysed to observe the virulency of P. gingivalis. The results were as follows. 1. Using KpnI, 6 ribotypes were detected, whereas 7 ribotypes were identified by using PstI. When combined two enzymes, a total of 8 ribotypes was subgrouped. 2. Ribotype I/e was the most common and detected in 4 among 10 patients. 3. The fimbrillin expressed from P. gingivalis isolates had the molecular size of 41kDa, 43kDa, 49kDa. It was observed that the size of fimbrillin with the same ribotypes could be identical. 4. All the P. gingivalis strains showed strong proteolytic activity and had the molecular size more than 120kDa. In summary, total 8 ribotypes were observed for isolates from rapidly progressive periodontitis patients. Forty percent of the patients harbored isolates exhibiting the same ribotype I/e, and it was observed that more than one ribotype can coexist in an individual patient.
