This paper describes the development of a surface acoustic wave gas sensor that is designed to detect volatile gas by monitering phase change of output signal as a function of time. The sensor consists of SAW oscillators with a center frequency of 100 MHz fabricated on 128 ?Y-Z LiNbO3 substrates. Experimental results, which show the phase change of output signal under the absorption of volatile gas onto sensors, are presented. The proposed sensor has the properties of high sensitivity compare to the conventional SAW gas sensor and chemical selectivity. Thus, it is thought these results are applicable for use in sensor array of an high performance electronic nose system.
물리치료사의 작업관련 근골격계 통증과 부담작업 유해요인 평가: 성인 신경계 손상 치료를 중심으로

Importance of the work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) has been increasing in the hospital industry such as health care industry and financial industry. This study investigated in order to identify the factors like general, occupational and ergonomically characteristics of the subjects related to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) of physical therapists (PTs). Ergonomic tools of rapid upper limb assessment (RULA) were used for evaluation workload of the tasks. Prevalence of MSDs were 13 PTs (26.0%) for neck, 31 PTs (62.0%) for shoulder, 9 PTs (18.0%) for arm/elbow, 27 PTs (54.0%) for hand/wrist, 28 PTs (56.0%) for back, 14 PTs (28.0%) for leg/foot. The analysis of the rate of the pain intensity showed that 53.5% subjects experience moderate pain and 14.0% subjects experience severe pain. Factors which were general characteristics, for example, height, ergonomically characteristics such as ``Posture Score A`` were related musculoskeletal subjective symptoms in logistic analysis (p<.05). Among physical therapists, action level of RULA were action level 2 (6.0%), action level 3 (52.0%), action level 4 (42.0%). Physical therapists were estimated one of the highest risk factor in this study. This study suggested that the need of preventive education and program for PTs (physical therapists). Comprehensive and systematic management plans should be established to include both ergonomic and sociopsychological aspects.

With the increase in the number of multinational and multicultural research projects, the need to adapt health status measures for use in other than source language has also grown rapidly. Most questionnaire were developed in English-speaking countries, but even within these countries, researchers must consider immigrant populations in studies of health, especially when their exclusion could lead to a systematic bias in studies of health care utilization or quality of life. The purpose of this study was to translate and and culturally adapt the three most used neck and spinal pain disability questionnaires - the Neck Disability Index(NDI), Neck pain and Disability Scale(NPDS), and Functional Rating Index(FRI) - into the korean language and evaluated their reliability, in addition to item response pattern, to achieve a good cross cultural adaptation. Each translated questionnaire was found to have high reliability (FRI ICC (2,1)=0.86 ($95\%$ CI: 0.75-0.92); NPDS ICC (2,1)=0.90 ($95\%$ CI: 0.83-0.95 ; NDI ICC (2,1) =0.90 ($95\%$ CI: 0.81-0.94)). The reliability of the translated versions of FRI, NPDS and NDI were excellent.

Multifunctional structures with two kinds of materials have been intensively investigated in order to improve their electrical characteristic with two functions simultaneously. However, the research regarding of multifunctional ceramic sensor is still in a preliminary stage and how to integrate them with low-cost and high-yield mass production process remains a challenge issue. In this study, we fabricated the multifunctional ceramic sensor composed of temperature and gas sensors. Moreover, we investigated the CO sensing properties of three dimensional nanostuctured $Nb_2O_5$ thin film gas sensors fabricated with silica ($SiO_2$ nanosphere (${\O}$= 750 nm). Compared to plain films, the nanostructured films show enhanced gas sensing of greater sensitivity and a faster response. This result reveals that significantly increased sensitivity is an increase in the effective surface area for the adsorption of gas molecules.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the changes of parameters of foot contact by various carrying a pack methods during walking. Method: The subjects were consisted of normal forty four persons (males 30, females 14, mean age 23). The carrying a pack methods were classified into five conditions: carrying no bag(Con 1), carrying a backpack(Con 2), carrying a shoulder bag(Con 3), carrying a cross bag(Con 4), carrying a one-hand bag(Con 5). All subjects were participated in these five condition and measured foot pressure by F-scan system during walking. Then foot contact time, foot contact area, foot contact length and width were measured and analyzed. The repeated one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to get difference between conditions and independent t-test was used to get difference between left and right foot within condition. Result: In the comparison of parameters of foot, contact time, contact area and mid foot width were significantly different between conditions(p<.05), and in both foot contact time at condition 5 showed the most significant reduction(p<.05). In the comparison of parameters of foot between left and right foot within condition, every conditions were not significantly different(p>.05). Conclusion: In this study various carrying methods changed the parameters of foot contact and showed significant difference in some articles between carrying methods. However, asymmetric load of pack by carrying methods didn't affected symmetry of parameters of foot contact between left and right foot.
LTCC 를 이용한 SnO<sub>2</sub> 가스 센서

A sensor element array for combinatorial solution deposition research was fabricated using LTCC (Low-temperature Co-fired Ceramics). The designed LTCC was co-fired at $800^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour after lamination at $70^{\circ}C$ under 3000 psi for 30 minutes. $SnO_2$ sol was prepared by a hydrothermal method at $200^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours. Tin chloride and ammonium carbonate were used as raw materials and the ammonia solution was added to a Teflon jar. 20 droplets of $SnO_2$ sol were deposited onto a LTCC sensor element and this was heat treated at $600^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours. The gas sensitivity ($S\;=\;R_a/R_g$) values of the $SnO_2$ sensor and 0.04 wt% Pd-added $SnO_2$ sensor were measured. The 0.04 wt% Pd-added $SnO_2$ sensor showed higher sensitivity (S = 8.1) compared to the $SnO_2$ sensor (S = 5.95) to 200 ppm $CH_3COCH_3$ at $400^{\circ}C$.
진동 적용이 좌골신경압좌손상이 유발된 흰쥐의 운동기능과 BDNF발현에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of vibration application on motor function and BDNF expression after crushing nerve injury of rats. Male Sprague-Dawley rats (N=18), 8 weeks age and weight from 250 to 300 g were used for this study. Crush injuries were produced on the right sciatic nerve. Vibration was applied to experimental group (N=9) on injured site at 3, 7 and 13 day. For compare the motor function between control and experimental group, the tilting plane test was measured at each gorup. The expressions of BDNF on S2 segment of spinal cord by immunohistochemistry were used for the result of motor function and peripheral nerve regeneration, respectively. Both gourps were significant increased changes of tilting plane test with the lapse of time, but tilting plane rest score were more significant in experimental group than in control, and this differences were remarkable at 14 days after sciatic nerve crush injury. Between experimental and control group, BDNF expressions after sciatic nerve crush injury were significant different. BDNF expression were non-significant in control group, but experimental group were observed significant increased change of BDNF expression with the lapse of time. These results suggest that vibration application is essential factor for early phase after crushing nerve injury. In conclusion, vibration application was contributed to motor function and nerve regeneration and could be used for nerve injury treatment.
신경근 전기자극이 뇌졸중 환자의 주관절 굴곡근 경직에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of neuromuscular electrical stimulation(NMES) on the spasticity of elbow flexor. Ten spastic hemiplegia who have been at EUL-JI medical college hospital in Taejon with age range of 35 to 70 years(56.8±9.5), were participated in this study. The subjects( 5 male, 5 female) took neuromuscular electrical stimulation therapy on the triceps of affected elbow. To compare the effect of the treatment, the grade of spasticity of affected elbow flexor was measured at pre-treatment and the end of each weeks using modified Ashworth scale. Then, the range of extension of the affected elbow was measured at pre-treatment and the end of each weeks using full circle goniometer. The data were analyzed with ANOVA to determine significant differences with the passage of time. The results were as follows : 1. ANOVA test showed significant differences in reducing spasticity of NMES group with the passage of time (p$lt;.01), 2, ANOVA test showed significant differences in increasing range of motion with the passage of time of NMES group(p$lt;.01). The neuromuscular electrical stimulation is a effective method to reduce the spasticity of elbow flexor.
