In this study, to apply to the conveyor roller, the piezoelectric energy harvesting system of roller-type was optimized to achieve the maximized voltage and minimized stress by clash loading. For this work, the piezoelectric voltage equation and finite element model were calibrated based on experimental voltage data. The central composite design was employed to obtain the performance factors, and based on this, surrogate models were generated using the response surface method. The surrogate model of reaction force is substituted into the Euler-Bernoulli beam and piezoelectric voltage equation. Multi-objective optimization was conducted by non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II. As a result, the constraint function of weight was satisfied, and the objective functions of voltage was increased by 7.413%, experimentally increased by 13.06%. Although the objective function of stress was increased by 17.31%, we considered it the optimal design because this design generated 164 MPa, less than the failure stress (251.86 MPa).
