The effect of the pulsation on the particle hold-up in a pulsed wetted column has been studied theoretically for the case of laminar region and experimentally for the cases of transient and turbulent regions. The experiment has been carried out by employing water as fluid medium and solid particles. The pulsation has been given by the reciprocating motion of a piston. The results of the investigation show that the pulsation would not give apparent effect on the particle hold-up but would increase the total travelling length of the particle.
Thiobacillus ferrooxidans 에 의한 철의 산화반응 기구

Thiobacillus ferrooxidans에 의한 Fe^(2+)의 산화반응 kinetics에 대하여 연구하였다. 비가역 자동촉매반응 모델을 제안하였고 다른 모델과 비교하였다. 제안된 모델의 적응성을 관찰하기 위해 초기 Fe^(2+)의 농도가 0.035∼0.217N이고, Fe^(3+)의 초기 농도는 0.00372∼0.00745N의 조건에서 실험하였다. 종래의 연구에서는 실험시간이 3시간 이하였는데 본 연구에서는 50∼100시간 동안이었다. 실험치와의 비교분석은 적분법과 초기속도법을 이용하였다. 이 분석 결과, 비가역 자동촉매반응 모델이 다른 모델보다 우수함을 관찰했다. The kinetic nature of Fe^(++) oxidation to Fe^(+++) by Thiobacillus ferrooxidans was studied. All irreversible autocatalytic model was proposed and compared with other models. The experiments were carried out to verify the proposed model. The duration of a single experimental run was ranged from 50 hrs to 100 hrs(c.f. previously less than 3 hrs). Both the integral and the initial rate methods were used in analyzing the experimental results. The analysis shows that the proposes irreversible auto-catalytic mechanism is best fitted to the experimental results among the various models.
