      • 여객선의 화재 안전 평가 : 화재, 연기 통제와 대피 분석

        여객선 화재 발생시, 대참사를 피하기 위한 가장 중요한 수단중의 하나는 승객들이 신속하고 안전하게 탈출 하는 것이다. 할 수 있는 여러 연기 확산 예방조치들 중 하나는 연기의 확산을 간단하고 믿을 수 있는 방법으로 통재하는 것이다. 이러한 방법은 사람들이 연기와 접할 수 있는 지역을 최소화 할 수 있고, 연기로부터 탈출할 수 있는 가시성을 보장할 수 있게 된다. 이 연구에서는 여객선 화재 안전에 실질적인 적용성과 실용성에 도달하기 위한 필요한 작업들을 다루고 있고, 화재 안전성 평가에 대한 가능성을 제공한다. 여객선에서 화재, 연기 통재와 대피 분석을 연구하기 위해 제안된 방법은 현재 이용 가능한 정보와 새로운 위험 평가 기술을 사용하였다. 제안된 방법을 설명하기 위해 사례 연구가 수행 되었다. 마지막으로 앞으로 여객선 안전 분야중의 화재 안전성 평가의 연구 진행 방향에 대해 자세히 설명했다.

        산업장 근로자를 대상으로 실시한 한방 건강검진의 만족도

        The examinees who received oriental and western health examination both and submitted questionnaire were 257 workers in workplace for 1 month during health examination for industrial workers. The research was to compare the satisfaction of oriental and western health examination by the questionnaire. The data that were collected by health examination were analyzed into frequencies, ANOVA, T-test with use of SPSS 10.0 program by the research purposes. The results were as follows: 1. Health examination in satisfaction comparison by the general characteristics of subject was significant in oriental health examination for the subjects who had 9-10 working hours(P〈0.05). 2. The workers who had high confidence in result of health examination, affirmative thinking for requirement of health examination, arbitrary decision for receiving the health examination, had high satisfaction in oriental and western health examination both, It was statistically significant difference. 3. For the difference in subjective health condition's recognition, the subject who answered " Healthy" had high satisfaction in western health examination, and it was statistically in western health examination, and it was statistically significant The subject who answered "Healthy" for the early detection of disease had high satisfaction in western health examination, The subject who answered skeptical for the early detection of disease had high satisfaction. in oriental health examination and it was statistically significant. 4. The respondent who said "Yes" for the question, whether you know about oriental health examination or not before receiving oriental health examinatgion had relatively high satisfaction For the question about including of oriental health examination continuously in the coming future, the subject who replied affirmative answer had high satisfaction in average, and it was significant difference(P〈0.05). 5. For the question that will be needed in the item of oriental health examination, the highest item was the requirement of specific oriental health examination for various diseases, followed by the requirement of medical specialist for individual need of medical examination by the item, and the prescription of herbal medicine, the medical examination of cancer, the interview for folk remedies, the parallel treatment for acupuncture cupping, etc, the medical examination for adult disease, the requirement of room for medical examination etc.

        W<sub>35</sub>Fe<sub>43</sub>C<sub>22</sub>비정질 합금분말의 결정화 거동

        W, Fe, and carbon powders were mechanical alloyed to produce W<sub>35</sub>Fe<sub>43</sub>C<sub>22</sub> ternary alloy powders containing nanocrystal W embedded within amorphous matrix. When the powder samples were heated to the primary crystallization temperature of 735℃, most parts of their amorphous region were fully crystallized to [W,Fe]- rich M<sub>6</sub>C carbides. Interestingly, a little portion of the carbides changes to stoichiometric line compounds (M<sub>12</sub>C and W<sub>6</sub>Fe<sub>7</sub>) and a solution phase (Fe-rich bcc), and remaining parts of the crystallites were amorphized again. The resulting microstructure was retained even by cyclic heating between room temperature of 1,200oC, and thus we found that the amorphous structure can be irreversibly formed at above glass transition temperature.         소아의 메타콜린 기관지유발검사에서 PC<sub>20</sub>-FEF<sub>25%-75%</sub> 및 △FVC에 대한 분석

        Purpose: Forced expiratory flow between 25% and 75% (FEF<sub>25%-75%</sub>) is known to sensitively reflect bronchial obstruction. Methacholine challenge test (MCT) has shown varying reduction levels of forced vital capacity (FVC) with the reduction in forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV<sub>1</sub>) in asthma. The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical implication of provocative concentration causing a 20% fall in FEF<sub>25%-75%</sub> (PC<sub>20</sub>-FEF<sub>25%-75%</sub>) and the percentage fall in FVC at the PC<sub>20</sub> dose of methacholine (△FVC). Methods: A total of 194 children who visited the hospital due to respiratory symptoms and underwent MCT were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into 3 groups. Group I had both PC<sub>20</sub>-FEV<sub>1</sub> and PC<sub>20</sub>-FEF<sub>25%-75%</sub> above 16 mg/mL; group II had a PC<sub>20</sub>-FEF<sub>25%-75%</sub> that fell below 16 mg/mL but PC<sub>20</sub>-FEV<sub>1</sub> was 16 mg/mL or above; group III had a PC<sub>20</sub>-FEV<sub>1</sub> and a PC<sub>20</sub>-FEF<sub>25%-75%</sub> that both fell below 16 mg/mL. Results: In group II, PC<sub>20</sub>-FEV<sub>1</sub> was lower (P=0.026) and the rate of change in FEV<sub>1</sub> and FEF<sub>25%-75%</sub> from baseline to 16 mg/mL of methacholine concentration was greater than in group I (both P<0.001). Levels of PC<sub>20</sub>-FEF<sub>25%-75%</sub> were higher in group II compared to group III (P<0.001). △FVC showed a correlation with PC<sub>20</sub>-FEV<sub>1</sub> (P<0.001) only in the whole group. Conclusion: In asthmatic children, PC<sub>20</sub>-FEF<sub>25%-75%</sub> may be associated with bronchial hyperresponsiveness. △FVC was not associated with other parameters in either group. For subjects with a positive finding of PC<sub>20</sub>-FEF<sub>25%-75%</sub> and a negative finding of MCT, the progression to asthma can be suspected. (Allergy Asthma Respir Dis 2021;9:141-147)

        Downsizing gas sensors based on semiconducting metal oxide: Effects of electrodes on gas sensing properties

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We report the highly sensitive and selective downsized gas sensors for the IoT application. Sensing areas of Pt-interdigitated electrodes (IDEs) were varied to investigate the relation between sensing materials and electrodes. In<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> nanocolumns were deposited on the pre-patterned Pt IDEs using glancing angle deposition (GLAD). The effect of the interface resistance between electrodes and sensing materials, and the intergrain resistance between nanocolumns is analyzed by linear regression at different sensing area and incident angle of GLAD. In<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> (angle: 85°, sensing area: 0.3mm×0.3mm) nanocolumns with double Schottky barriers show the highest response and selectivity with fast response time of 10s to VOCs among the samples fabricated in this study. The analysis reveals that the intrinsic response of In<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> (angle: 85°, sensing area: 0.3mm×0.3mm) nanocolumns are dominantly affected by intergrain resistance, resulting in a high response. Our demonstration for the fundamental aspect of downsizing gas sensor makes an important contribution to the chemical sensor field with broad interest.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> The sensing areas are varied to investigate the relation between sensing materials and electrodes. </LI> <LI> The effect of the interface resistance and the intergrain resistance are analyzed by linear regression. </LI> <LI> The performance of the downsizing gas sensor is greatly influenced by the interface resistance. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Early Experience of Automated Intraventricular Type Intracranial Pressure Monitoring (LiquoGuard®) for Severe Traumatic Brain Injury Patients

        Objective: The LiquoGuard® system is a new ventricular-type monitoring device that facilitates intracranial pressure (ICP)-controlled or volume-controlled drainage of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). The purpose of this study is to report the authors' experience with the LiquoGuard® ICP monitoring system, as well as the clinical safety, usefulness, and limitations of this device in the management of patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Methods: Intraventricular ICP monitoring was performed on 10 patients with TBI using the LiquoGuard® monitoring system. ICP measurements, volume of drained CSF, and clinical outcomes were analyzed and discussed. Results: ICP monitoring was performed on 10 patients for a mean duration of 6.9 days. With a mean 82,718 records per patient, the mean initial ICP was 16.4 mm Hg and the average ICP across the total duration of monitoring was 15.5 mm Hg. The mean volume of drained CSF was 29.2 cc/day, with no CSF drained in 4 patients. Seven of 10 patients showed 1 or 2 episodes of abnormal ICP measurements. No patient exhibited complications associated with ICP monitoring. Conclusion: The LiquoGuard® system is a versatile tool in the management of TBI patients. Its use is both reliable and feasible for ICP monitoring and therapeutic drainage of CSF. However, episodes of abnormal ICP measurements were frequently observed in patients with slit ventricles, and further study may be needed to overcome this issue.

        Craniotomy or Decompressive Craniectomy for Acute Subdural Hematomas: Surgical Selection and Clinical Outcome

        Objective: Craniotomy (CO) and decompressive craniectomy (DC) are two main surgical options for acute subdural hematomas (ASDH). However, optimal selection of surgical modality is unclear and decision may vary with surgeon's experience. To clarify this point, we analyzed preoperative findings and surgical outcome of patients with ASDH treated with CO or DC. Methods: From January 2010 to December 2014, data for 46 patients with ASDH who underwent CO or DC were retrospectively reviewed. The demographic, clinical, imaging and clinical outcomes were analyzed and statistically compared. Results: Twenty (43%) patients underwent CO and 26 (57%) patients received DC. In DC group, preoperative Glascow Coma Scale was lower (p=0.034), and more patient had non-reactive pupil (p=0.004). Computed tomography findings of DC group showed more frequent subarachnoid hemorrhage (p=0.003). Six month modified Rankin Scale showed favorable outcome in 60% of CO group and 23% of DC group (p=0.004). DC was done in patient with more unfavorable preoperative features (p=0.017). Patients with few unfavorable preoperative features (<6) had good outcome with CO (p<0.001). Conclusion: In selective cases of few unfavorable clinical findings, CO may also be an effective surgical option for ASDH. Although DC remains to be standard of surgical modality for patients with poor clinical status, CO can be an alternative considering the possible complications of DC.
