Purpose: This study was performed to investigate the preventable death rate (PDR) in Daegu, South Korea, and to assess both its affecting- and preventable-factors to improve the treatment of regional trauma patients. Methods: All cases of traumatic death that occurred between January 2012 and December 2012 in five hospitals in Daegu were analyzed retrospectively by a panel review. Cases were classified into preventable (P) and non-preventable deaths (NP). We determined the affecting factors of trauma deaths and preventable factors during trauma care. Results: The PDR was 25.2%. Significant differences by mode of arrival, day of injury, cause of death, and time of emergency department (ED) arrival were observed between P and NP groups. According to the logistic regression analysis, preventability was associated with patients transferred from other hospitals, ED arrival at night and dawn, and non-head injuries. A total of 145 preventable factors were discovered in 59 preventable trauma deaths. When we categorized by location, the ED was the most common, with 71 cases, followed by 57 prehospital preventable factors. When we classified the preventable factors by process, 76.8% were process-related and 23.4% were structure-related. Conclusion: Our study is valuable to build an adequate trauma system in Daegu as it provides the baseline quality control data. Efforts to mediate the preventable factors were revealed in this study, and continuous reviews to calculate and track the PDR are needed to evaluate the local trauma system and establish a system specific to Daegu.

Sungbae Kang,Taesoo Moon 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of u- and e- Service, Scienc Vol.9 No.7
Supply chain integration is widely used by both practitioners and researchers because of its essential role in enhancing the competitive advantage of the supply chain. Organizational competences such as relational competence and information technology (IT) competence have been recognized as factors influencing the promotion of supply chain integration to obtain supply chain performance. This paper extends the stream of research on supply chain management by systematically identifying the antecedents and consequences of supply chain integration between supply chain partners. The results indicate that relational competence and IT competence in the supply chain were positively related to supply chain integration. Information exchange was directly related to supply chain performance. In addition, it had a positive impact on the relationship between organizational competences and supply chain performance through its positive effect on supply chain integration. The results provide strong support for the notion that information exchange and supply chain integration enhance supply chain performance and have important theoretical and practical implications.

Supply chain integration is widely used by both practitioners and researchers, because of an essential role to enhance competitive advantage in supply chain. Organizational competences, such as relational competence(RC) and information technology (IT) competence, have been recognized as influencing factors to promote supply chain integration (SCI) for obtaining supply chain performance. In this paper, we intend to extend the stream of research in supply chain management (SCM) by systematically identifying the antecedents and consequences of supply chain integration between supply chain partners. We empirically tested the research model using data collected from senior managers of 122 manufacturing firms in South Korea. The results indicate that relational competence and IT competence in supply chain are positively related to supply chain integration. Information exchange is directly related to supply chain performance, Also, it has the positive impact between organizational competences and supply chain performance through its positive effect on supply chain integration. Our results provide strong support for the notion of information exchange and supply chain integration to enhance supply chain performance. Implications for future research and practice are offered.

강성배(Sungbae Kang),문태수(Teasoo Moon) 한국인터넷전자상거래학회 2012 인터넷전자상거래연구 Vol.12 No.4
Supply chain management (SCM) is the 21st century global operations strategy for achieving organizational competitiveness. Most companies are attempting to find ways to improve their flexibility, responsiveness, and in turn competitiveness by changing their operations strategy, methods and technologies that include the implementation of SCM. While some companies have achieved significant efficiencies through SCM, others have complained of failed implementation, budget overruns, and disappointing performance. Successful supply chain management requires the integration of the entities in a supply chain to create a cooperative and collaborative environment. This study intends to suggest a research model to investigate the influence of organization and IS factors on SCM performance. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of organizational and IS factors on SCM performance, including the mediating effect of collaboration. The result of this empirical study is summarized as followings. First, project management and top management support are the most important determinants to influence SCM performance in direct effect model. Second, goal sharing, top management support and IS maturity have positive influences on collaboration relationship. Third, goal sharing has more effective impact on SCM performance through a mediating variable of supply chain collaboration.

IPTV Service is one of representative services in digital convergence, as a convergent service between broadcasting and telecommunication, which provides interactive broadcasting service with multimedia contents using superhighway network, such as realtime television, game, video on demand, t-commerce, and so on. According to continuous increase in the number of subscribers of IPTV service, IPTV providers recognize the importance of competitive strategy and marketing strategy to acquire and retain customers through public relations and advertising. Many studies conducted to research on behavioral intention to use IPTV service, however, it is poor and few research to understand customer"s behavior to adopt and continuous intention to use IPTV service. This study examines the relationship between influencing factors and customer"s continuous intention to use IPTV service, based on a dual model with dedication and constraint. Also, we intend to improve the explanation power of the research model, using the perceived benefit and perceived sacrifice of value-based theory, as antecedents. This study provides an insight to see real phenomenon by identifying a dual model with dedicated-based outcomes and constraint-based outcomes, and suggests also marketing activity and strategy for IPTV providers to understand consumer"s need and want of IPTV service through empirical results.

We divide e-marketing capability into sensing, planning and responding, and prove empirically that firm can improve their marketing performance through e-marketing capability. Improving firm’s e-marketing capability has important implications for sustainable growth of the firm. So business managers must recognize that e-marketing capability has become one of their core capabilities to build competitive advantage of the firms.
