In this paper, a novel approach is addressed to facilitate the browsing of large collection of digital photos associated with specified person(s) in the photos. The goal of the proposed method is to exploit additional person-identity features as incorporating facial regions and peripheral clothes region associated with them. For more effective incorporation of the clothes and facial features, situation-based photo clustering is also proposed. To evaluate the efficacy of the proposed method experiment was performed with 1120 generic home photos. The experiment results showed that the proposed method outperformed the conventional method using only face feature as showing the average performance of about 92% contrary to the average performance of about 70% in the conventional method.
Candida glabrata infection of urinary bladder in a Chinchilla Persian cat

A 5-year-old castrated male Chinchilla Persian cat weighing 4.84 kg was referred for hematuria. The cat had a history of urethrostomy and bacterial cystitis. In urine culture, Candida glabrata was cultured on Sabouraud dextrose agar. Based on these results, the cat was diagnosed with Candida cystitis. Subsequently, oral administration of fluconazole was initiated. Urine culture was negative at 31 days after administration. This case describes the diagnosis and treatment of Candida glabrata infection of urinary bladder in a cat with a history of urethrostomy.
A Heuristic Approach for Simulation of time-course Visual Adaptation for High Dynamic Image Streams

There is substantial evidence from earlier researches that older adults have difficult seeing under low illumination and at night, even in the absence of ocular diseases. During human aging, there is a rampant decrease in rod/cone-meditated adaptation which is caused by delayed rhodopsin regeneration and pigment depletion. This calls for a need to develop appropriate visual gadgets to effectively aid the aging generation. Our research culminates its approach from Pattanaik’s model by making extensions to temporal visual filtering, thereby simulating a reduction of visual response which comes with age. Our filtering model paves way and lays a foundation for future research to develop a more effective adaptation model that may be further used in developing visual content adaptation aids and guidelines in MPEG 21 environment. We demonstrate our visual model using a High Dynamic Range image and the experiment results are in conversant with the psychophysical data from previous vision researches.

대비(contrast)는 영상의 특성을 나타내는 대표적인 객관적인 척도이다. 비록 대비 측정 방법에 관한 연구가 오랫동안 진행되었으나, 인간이 인지 대비(perceived contrast)의 측정은 관련된 여러 분야에서 여전히 연구의 대상이 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 영상의 공간 주파수에 따른 인간의 대비 민감도(contrast sensitivity)에 차이가 발생한다는 점에 착안하여, 인간의 시각 인지 시스템을 고려한 대비 측정 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 다중의 공간 주파수 대역(spatial frequency band)에 따른 다중 스케일의 지역적 대비 측정 방법, 대비 항상성(contrast constancy)를 고려한 대비 측정 방법, 영상을 단색 채널과 컬러 채널로 분리함으로써 대비를 측정하는 컬러 대비 측정 방법을 통합하는 인지 대비 측정 방법이다.
