차세대 평판표시 소자인 전계방출 표시소자가 기술적으로 성공해서 시장에 나오기 위해서는 캐소드 기술, 아노드 기술, 진공패키징 기술 및 구동 기술의 4가지 핵심기술이 개발되어야 한다. 본 기술동향에서는 전계방출 표시소자에서 가장 중요한 핵심기술인 캐소드 기술의 동향에 대해서 중점적으로 살펴보고자 한다. 특히, 캐소드에서 전자방출 원리에 대한 기초이론을 살펴보고, 캐소드의 제작 방법에 대하여 알아본다. 또한, 현재 연구개발 중인 몇 가지 종류의 캐소드에 대해서는 동작원리와 기술적 문제점에 대하여 살펴보고,이들 캐소드가 전계방출 표시소자용 패널로 적용되는 사례에 대하여 상세하게 고찰한다.

An analysis of the relationship between a linear amplifier chain and an analog-to-digital converter(ADC) in a digital microwave wideband receiver, with respect to sensitivity and dynamic range issues, is presented. The effects of gain, third-order intermodulation products and ADC characteristics on the performance of teh receiver are illustrated and design criteria for the linear amplifier chain are developed. Simulated results are also presented and compared with theoretical values. If there are two signals with frequencies very close, an FFT operation may generate one peak containing both signals. Therefore, high resolution spectrum estimation may need ot separate the two signals.

GPS는 전세계 측위 시스템으로 근래 측위뿐만 아니라 표준시각용으로도 많이 쓰이고 있다. 본 논문은 GPS 수신기에 필수적인 시간간격계수기의 개발을 한 것으로 실험결과 양호한 특성을 얻고 있다. 앞으로 고급 소자를 사용하면 더 높은 확도를 얻을 수 있을 것이다.
울증(鬱證)환자에게 용서프로그램을 활용한 오지상승요법(五志相勝療法)을 시행하여 호전된 1례

Yuzheng(鬱證) comes from obstruction of qi by stress. The patient has depressed mood, irritable sign, chest discomfort, costal pain, angry state or some strange feeling on the throat. Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy is base on the theory of interrelation in five elements in oriental medicine. The contents of Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy include five subjugations of five emotions. Anxiety subjugates fear(思勝恐), fear subjugates joy(恐勝喜), joy subjugates pity(喜勝悲), pity subjugates anger(悲勝怒), and anger subjugates anxiety(怒勝思). Forgiveness program is a kind of psychological therapies to decrease the degree of anger and it is included in Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy. In this case, a female patient, 50 years old, who suffered from Yuzheng(鬱證) with chest discomfort, irritable sign, easily angry state, depressed mood, hot flush, insomnia. We used Oh-Ji-Sang-Seung(五志相勝) therapy besides herbal medication, acupuncture to her condition got improved. Therefore we reported it for the treatment.

<P>An inverse agonist of estrogen-related receptor-γ (ERRγ), an orphan nuclear receptor encoded by E<I>srrg</I>, enhances sodium iodide symporter-mediated radioiodine uptake in anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC) cells, thereby facilitating responsiveness to radioiodine therapy in vitro. We synthesized potent, selective, and orally bioavailable ERRγ-inverse agonists and evaluated their activity by analyzing in vitro pharmacology and absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity profiles. X-ray crystallographic analysis of the ligand and ERRγ complex showed that <B>35</B> completely binds to the target protein (PDB 6A6K). Our results showed improved radioiodine avidity in ATC cells through compound <B>35</B>-mediated upregulation of iodide-handling genes, leading to enhanced responsiveness to radioiodine therapy in vitro. Importantly, in vivo <SUP>124</SUP>I-positron emission tomography/computed tomography imaging revealed that <B>35</B> increases radioiodine avidity in CAL62 tumors. Collectively, these results demonstrated that <B>35</B> can be developed as a promising treatment for ERRγ-related cancer in the future.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
Effect of Pore Geometry on Gas Adsorption: Grand Canonical Monte Carlo Simulation Studies

In this study, we investigated the pure geometrical effect of porous materials in gas adsorption using the grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations of primitive gas-pore models with various pore geometries such as planar, cylindrical, and random pore geometries. Although the model does not possess atomistic level details of porous materials, our simulation results provided many insightful information in the effect of pore geometry on the adsorption behavior of gas molecules. First, the surface curvature of porous materials plays a significant role in the amount of adsorbed gas molecules: the concave surface such as in cylindrical pores induces more attraction between gas molecules and pore, which results in the enhanced gas adsorption. On the contrary, the convex surface of random pores gives the opposite effect. Second, this geometrical effect shows a nonmonotonic dependence on the gas-pore interaction strength and length. Third, as the external gas pressure is increased, the change in the gas adsorption due to pore geometry is reduced. Finally, the pore geometry also affects the collision dynamics of gas molecules. Since our model is based on primitive description of fluid molecules, our conclusion can be applied to any fluidic systems including reactant-electrode systems.

In the shipbuilding and marine industry, laser cleaning is considered an eco-friendly technology because it can significantly reduce the generation of secondary waste when removing the paint and oxide layer on a steel surface during ship repair work. Accordingly, various studies are being conducted worldwide for the application of laser cleaning. However, studies on the removal of various types of paint used on ships for anticorrosion and cosmetic effects and on the control of the scanning mode of laser cleaning application parts, such as square and circular, are limited. Therefore, in this study, the effects of the scanning mode and major process parameters were analyzed for four types of specimen coated with different paints and with various thicknesses. Consequently, it was possible to remove the paint on the steel surface completely by using handheld-type laser cleaning equipment with an average power of 100 W. In addition, the working time was reduced and the cleaning performance was improved by determining the scanning mode suitable for the laser cleaning application part and the optimal process parameters for each specimen.
Mediterraneibacter butyricigenes sp. nov., a butyrate-producing bacterium isolated from human faeces

A Gram-stain-positive, obligately anaerobic, non-motile, nonspore- forming, and rod-shaped bacterial strain, designated KGMB01110T, was isolated from a faecal sample of a healthy male in South Korea. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene showed that strain KGMB01110T belonged to Clostridium cluster XIVa and was most closely related to Mediterraneibacter glycyrrhizinilyticus KCTC 5760T (95.9% 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity). The DNA G + C content of strain KGMB01110T based on its whole genome sequence was 44.1 mol%. The major cellular fatty acids (> 10%) of the isolate were C14:0 and C16:0. The strain KGMB01110T was positive for arginine dihydrolase, β-galactosidase-6-phosphatase, and alkaline phosphatase. The strain KGMB01110T also produced acid from D-glucose and D-rhamnose, and hydrolyzed gelatin and aesculin. Furthermore, HPLC analysis and UV-tests of culture supernatant revealed that the strain KGMB01110T produced butyrate as the major end product of glucose fermentation. Based on the phylogenetic and phenotypic characteristics, strain KGMB01110T represent a novel species of the genus Mediterraneibacter in the family Lachnospiraceae. The type strain is KGMB01110T (= KCTC 15684T = CCUG 72830T).
